"This could easily be a way to mentally evaluate the weapons," Syd said. "To make sure they aren't dangerous to their hunters and the hunters are just ignoring it, or oblivious." She sighed. "Melvin, why don't you go back to your room? I'm sure it will be more peaceful there."

And she wanted a break as well. Dealing with Izy after this was going to be ugly, of course, but the sooner she got back to him the sooner she could do it.
