Togan He dropped the deer and tore off a hunk for himself. After eating his fill he let the younger males have the rest. He went over to Raven and sat near her. "I apologize. I didn't mean to upset you. You are a gifted tracker Raven, and the pack values your skill."
She still looked melancholy, so he nudged her with his large muzzle. "Tell you what, I'll lead the hunts for a while. This old dog can still teach a few tricks."

RavenShe shook her head and wagged her tail. It's okay, I do need to practice some more on my moves. Hunting prepares us for battle, and if I can not take a prey down in a matter of minutes, i can not do it to another rival wolf either. Her fur bristled up, but it went down after Togan's suggestion. She nodded her head and got up, stretching her body. She flicked her tail at him and looked outside one more time. I'll like to learn some new tactics Togan. Thank you. Anyways, it's my turn to take care of the pups, one of the mothers wants to go out and hunt.Raven turned around and went into the cave to the location where the pups were at. They greeted her happily and tackled her paws, barking up to gain her attention.

Togan He watched Raven go into the cave. He looked around the cave and laid on a raised rock in the mouth. He looked out into the forest, watching the sky and the wind.

SeffHe walked over to the Alpha as the female left. He and the female passed each other but hardly acknowledged it. Seff approached the Alpha. "You're really good aren't you? Well, I mean you are the Alpha male of the pack after all. But really, that female never treats anyone else as nicely as she treats you. I tried offering her a help earlier today but then she got angry for who knows why. What's her problem anyway?"

 Varg
After ten moons,Varg had finally arrived home. He walked up to the seemingly younger wolves from his old pack, and spoke, with great wisdom in his voice,"Take me to the head,I've returned. Even if I've no point in returning to the pack, after I left it. i've heard rumors of a war between packs, and I've come to learn more and offer my skills once again." He waited for a reply from the other wolves, being an alpha himself,he knew he could go at anytime to the counsel, but due to his disappearance,he felt as ifthe others had thought he died. so,he waited,as he waited,he laid down upon the rock he was standing on. " I know not if you,the younger generation know of who I am,but I am Varg. It's been a while since Ive lived here,in fact I may have left while you were all pups, but anyhow, back to the point at hand,I can wait, for my old bones need a rest." He added,as he looked a tthe other two before him.

RavenShe was playing around with the pups, allowing them to n** and tackle her to the ground. They barked in happiness and she wagged her tail at their innocence. Suddenly her ear caught a voice she hadn't heard for a long time. The wolf puppies rolled off her body as she hurried outside to see that voice that spoke. Her tail lowered and she came closer to the old wolf Varg. Why would you want to return after you left. You abandoned this pack and your second in command nearly killed us all with his tyranny! It was thanks to Togan to regain the balance of our pack and take the place you left. She snarled at the wolf and paced the floor in front of him.His desertion had cause their pack a great lost, and she lifted her ears up in alert. From the stories i have heard since being a pup, you are no longer an alpha or even a member. You left us..and now you return? She glared at him and stepped closer to him. Even though he was old, he was far stronger than her, so she kept her distance. Shaking her head, she remembered the words the elder she-wolf told her and sighed in exhaustion. Looking back up to Varg, she tilted her head. Come on, I'll take you to our Alpha, I have no say on what happens to you or what information you get. But i have my eyes on you.She started to walk to the cave, looking back to see if he was following.

Varg "Fair enough. If you mistrust me,it's fine, this old wolf knows his place." He said,as he rose back on his feet. In this, his massive dire wolf size shown well, and he appeared to tower over the others. "Well,I guess size also played a role in my leaving. I was always larger than the others." He said to himself,as he leap off the rock and followed the young wolf towards the alpha. When he entered the cave,he noticed the other stared at him in shock. "As I suspected, most thought I was dead,oh well." he said once again to himself, and continued in. Even though he might not have been older than most of them, the wisdom he carried with him, made him feel as if he's been around for ages.

ToganTogan sniffed the air. "So, he has come home..."
He looked over his shoulder as Seff approached him. He listened to the young rouge, then gave a kind huff. "Don't trouble yourself too much over it. It's nothing against you. Raven has a complicated past, her confidence is fragile and she has a hard time opening up to others. I have known her since she was a pup, that is the only reason she is so comfortable around me. Don't take it personally. She doesn't hate you." Togan lifted himself and sat upright as Raven led the old wolf to the rock. Togan was the only one who matched the older wolf in size, but he was not nearly as seasoned. "Varg, my old mentor. Many winters gone since I last had your scent. To what do we owe the honor of your return?"

Varg
Varg gave a slight smile. "I've heard rumors of other packs planning an attack on this one, even though I live far away in the Land of man. It is within the winds that reach my icey mountain home in my loner life. I guess I've come to aid in ways that I can,so that you all may survive. However it is up to you to trust these words of someone as old as I am. I'm still able to hold my own, however I fear in time I shall die,but that is besides the point. Will you need my help?" He said, gently to his old student. He then awaited for a reply.

Seff"Oh.." that is the only thing he was able to say at Togan's explanation, he wasn't sure how he felt about it. "Raven.. So that's her name. I wonder what it is that happened that made her past so complicated."Suddenly the pack crowded up and he heard a lot of muttering and whispering, it's as if someone famous they have been waiting for has just arrived. He slipped through the crowds to see what was going on. There he saw Togan speaking with a great white wolf. "Who is that?""What?! What do you mean who is that.. Oh, you're that new guy aren't you? Well that is Varg. He used to be the Alpha of this pack until he left the pack many years ago. Who knows why he came back to us so suddenly," said a wolf in the crowd who happened to be standing next to Seff. "Huh.."

Togan Togan simply looked at Varg for a while. The lean, taut muscle of his youth had become wiry and lithe. However, the glint of fire and wisdom still shimmered in his eyes. Looking into Varg's eyes Togan could not help but see a glimpse of the old mentor he had adored. The other's were waiting for his answer. He straightened his back and spoke. "Varg, you my not be the youngest or most fit, but you are by far the most experienced of our number. If you wish, you may remain as an honored elder. You will be welcomed back into our fold, and your council will no doubt prove invaluable in the coming days. Welcome home, my old friend."

Raven
She looked at the Pack's Leader and Past Leader talk to one another. Time has made her forgotten that Togan once was a young wolf like her, training together with the ex-member. She dropped her tail at those memories as a pup, and sighed in exhaustion. As the crowd grew around the two, she left her post next to Varg and went to guard the entrance, since no one seemed to be doing so. Looking at the forest, her tailed flicked around lazily and she sniffed at the air. Her nose wrinkled at the smell of something thick and foul smelling. Sniffing again, her ears went up in alert as a shot was fired into the air, scaring black birds into the sky. Hunters! The pack took their eyes off the two and started to whisper to each other loudly. Is hunting season starting already?!Oh gosh, what if they get close enough to find us. Murder!Awful monsters!Raven went inside and hushed the distraught pack. Her ears picked up crunching of leaves, and the murmurs started again. Members, gather up the mothers, elders, and pups into the Safe Cave. Remember, if they come near here, we must do our best to stay safe and steer them away from the cave! Some wolves nodded their heads and went to herd the others into the part of the cave that was hidden from any trespassers. Others looked confused and their fur bristled up. They need a higher authority to guide them, and she gulped nervously. Looking around, her eyes fell on Togan, then at the lone wolf and her tail went down. Lone wo-, uh, I mean Seff! You're a Beta here, they need you! If the Hunters find out about our location its the end of us. Her heart jumped at her own words. They were the last words her mother told her before she ran into the forest and never returned. She shook her head and went ran into the cave, grabbing a pup gently by the neck and caring him to the Safe Cave.

Varg
"I thank you for your audience, old friend." He said,he then quietly turned to the younger wolf,Raven. "Shall we go for a little quick glance at what aproches, then?" He asked the younger and he turned and headed for the exit, and perched atop of a rock not far from the cave entrance and laid atop of it,and peered out into the direction of the scent. As he did this,he got a wiff of a beastmaster,of whom he had met before, but even that scent too, vanished which lead to him thinking the beastmaster may have went into hiding as well. So Varg waited for these other hunters, lazily.

RavenShe growled as Varg got to close to her, and stepped back. She watched him sit down on the rock again and she rolled her eyes. What in the world was he doing perched up there like a sitting duck!A hunter can be anywhere and we could all die while he is sitting..on A ROCK. Her feet itched to go outside and see what was out there, but the Leader's words stuck in her head. Patience...She lowered her head and groaned as she realized he was right all along. Her head sniffed at the air, and relief flooded over her when the human scent wasn't as close as before. He must have not noticed the cave. But that doesn't mean he won't check twice. Her feet stepped on the floor impatiently and she paced around. The only reason she would not go out there was because the Alpha trusted Varg's wisdom. She decided to sit down a few feet away from Varg's post, and looked outside the entrance with her ears alert to the tiniest of sounds.

Togan
He caught the scent quickly. He was impressed by how fast Seff and Raven reacted, calming the others and moving them further into the caves. Varg perched on a rock near the mouth. A hunter came up to Togan, fear in his eyes. "What do we do? They will wipe us out if they find us!" His words put worried looks on the faces of the others. Togan Stood up to his full hight and bristled his fur. He let out a snarl. The young hunters cringed back, but Togan knew he had to be strong and show them what to do. "My elders, mothers, cubs, hunters, this is no time for panic. We must remain calm, vigilant, and keep our wits. Look at your elder, Varg. See how calmly he faces this danger. I am your Alpha, and I will lose my own life before I let those monsters take any of yours."
He made his way to the entrance of the cave. "You, you and you. Come with me. The rest of you, deeper into the caves. Seff, you and the other betas guard them with your lives. Varg, keep watch on the forest. I will lay down a trail for them to follow, and lead them away from our grounds. If something happens to me, it will be up to you to guide Seff as he takes over as Alpha. We shall return when the danger has passed." He led his party out of the cave and towards the tree line. They hesitated, but Togan turned and butted one with his head. "Take heart. We will not be brought down by these savages. Stay close to me. We move swiftly, we stay together, and we do take any unnecessary risks. We all go in, we all come back home. Follow me, fast, and low. We make only as much noise as will get their attention and move them to the south. When we reach the river, we turn and lead them till they are lost in the Black Thicket, then we lose them and come home. Got it?" "The Black Thicket!? But, none of use knows the way through there!" "Enough! Stay close to me and I will guide you. You trust your Alpha?"
The young ones saw the fire in Togan's eyes. The way his great muscles coiled and flexed under his grey fur. The stood up straight and proud. "YES!" "Then off!"
With that they dashed into the woods. They wound their way around the area the hunters were combing, and soon they were being tracked. Togan turned them south and headed for the river.
