Char considered the colt's question for several long moments before she answered. "I have met those who seem to be ...lost, but I do not know if that is because they have not found what they were meant to do or because they did not recognize it when they did. I am sure that there are some who wander for their entire lives but perhaps that itself was their purpose..surely in their wandering they met and interacted with others and in those interactions changed some lives." It was a rather confusing thought to follow and Char was not entirely sure Fair would understand - but he seemed to be a bright colt so she was sure he would with a little bit of thought on the matter.
"Likely so" She told him with a slight chuckle "But she was always the protective sort..your Aunt Bangil got them into trouble and your mother tended to be the one who got them out of it again..even if she fussed about it the entire time." It was nice to hear the colt was responsible enough not to wander off. "That's good..while the herd here has certainly found a nice secluded location in which to live...there are always the unexpected dangers that come lurking around."

Well it pretty much made sense. Those who hadn't found their calling may have actually stumbled upon it, even tried it but hadn't quire realized that that particular thing was what they were destined for. And it also made sense that for some wandering was their purpose in life. While he did want to go out there and explore what lay beyond the herds territory, especially those areas that would require flying to get to Fairbreeze was fairly certain at this point that he was not meant to be a wanderer, at least not a full time wanderer. He would wander, when he was older and it was something he looked forward to, but as a purpose no. "I guess some purposes are easier to know that others." He commented as they went along.
It was still funny to hear about some of the adventures that his mother and Aunt Bangil went on. Somehow it didn't surprise him that it was his mother that got them out of trouble. She did after all fuss with his father quite a bit as well, not to mention him and his siblings, so it made sense. "That must be why she keeps telling us to avoid trouble, she doesn't want us to get hurt or lost or not able to get out of it." He wasn't planning on getting into trouble, oh it could happen but he wasn't going to go looking for it. Glancing up at the sky Fairbreeze realized how long they had been out on this walk. If they didn't go home soon his parents would likely worry even though they knew he was out with his grandmother and his siblings would complain that he was hogging all her time. "Grandma, I think we better head back. Kaliri and Falcomwing will want to spend some time with you as well."

"Yes, and sometimes life likes to give us a purpose that we don't entirely agree with it seems, makes for some poor trouble souls..those are normally the ones you should avoid when out and about, those who are fighting against their calling and have become cold and angry as a result." She told the colt in a slightly warning tone. She knew he would grow older and decide to venture out into the world - but the world outside his happy herd was not quite as peaceful and serene and he would have to learn that fact sooner or later.
"I think all parents are a bit overprotective like that." She agreed "You will understand when you have children of your own, parents always want what is best for their children." She stated with a firm shake of her head - well most of them anyways, those that did not were touched in the head as far as Char was concerned. Glancing up at the sky herself when she spoke up she was surprised to see how late it was getting herself. "Probably a good idea, we don't want your mother to come looking for us now do we? Never hear the end of it!" She added with a laugh as she turned around so that they could head back home.

Fairbreeze listened carefully and then nodded his head. "I understand grandmother." He would do his best to avoid those that she described when he was out and about. There would likely be no way to fully avoid them, eventually he would run into one of these individuals but he would do his best to stay clear from them and get away from any should he come upon them. He gave his head another nod. "Yeah parents do seem overprotective." He saw it in his own parents, he saw it in Syn, heck he even saw it in Cheveyo when dealing with Syn as well and she was an adult! "It's for the best." Fairbreeze let out a laugh. "And we don't want that!" He heard his mother yell at Falcon from time to time for doing bad things so he didn't want to have himself or grandmother scolded for staying out too late on their walk. Turning he followed her back towards the herd happy to have spent time with her but also to learn lots along the way.
