The dragon didn't give chase. But they let out another plume of insanity infused flames at the two retreating hunters. With a snarl, they roared out angrily, then faded back into the fog.

Wilson only ran faster when he felt the heat of the flames surging behind him. His eyes widened and he pumped even more energy into his legs. The hunter rushed for the portal and even after he escaped the training course he still ran quite a distance before he came to a halt. Panting, Wilson ripped off his mask and let his weapon noisily clatter to the ground in a heap as he leaned over, hands on his knees. “That…how long as that thing been here?” he asked, glancing at Deryk. The final roar still ringing in his ears, Wilson pointed to the portal. “I’m pretty sure I saw that thing during the siege. Why is it still here?”

Deryk was hurting a good bit now, and he only tried to run faster when he realized his fear shield was down completely. Stripped away by the flames of the dragon. He didn't stop until he was sure they were safe, away from the monstrous fog beast. And when they did, he doubled over, breathing heavily.

He was worn down. Very worn now. But they were alive. And fairly unharmed.

"I.. I don't know. It... It doesn't seem like the phoenix though. Different... D-didn't the phoenix break up to make smaller, weaker things?"

While he wasn't sure about the size issue of this dragon, he did notice that it was definitely not weak by any means.

Okay. Screw standing up. Wilson was just going to sit down and lay on his back. At some point, his weapon had returned to its usual form. His cheek pressed against the grass, the hunter reached for the fallen pair of green goggles.

“They were both made out of Insanity, but they’re acting differently. Of course, the phoenix was made from an entire dead civilization, so I guess that’s what made it different.” His chest continued to rise and fall in a quick, steady rhythm. “Yeah, it did. It was really troublesome too.”

“Does anyone know how to get rid of that thing? Please tell me someone is at least working on it.”

Dropping down to his knees, Deryk went ahead and dismissed Tooley as well. He didn't want to walk anywhere just yet.

"Y-yeah.. I guess so. D-do you even know where that came from? How it got here..?"

He hadn't been in the right area to see what had happened.

"I... have no idea. M-might need to ask one of the leads or assistants.." he whined. He HOPED they had some sort of plan for the dragon. It wasn't exactly fun to have around. It was really dangerous too! Just how sentient was it, he had to wonder? It certainly just acted like a violent mindless beast.

Wilson shook his head and covered his eyes with one hand. “I don’t know for sure. I’m pretty sure it came here during the siege, but I was at headquarters for most of it. Gale called me to the towns and when I came, it was already there.” He paused. “Gale might know how it got here. I’ll ask him later.”

His face scrunched up at the thought of asking a lead or assistant. Caelius was definitely out. H was too. Wilson groaned and rolled onto his stomach. “I don’t know who to ask. I don’t really want to ask any of them.” With a hint of hope in his voice, he asked, “Would you be willing to ask?”

Hm. So it had shown up around the towns area originally? Deryk hadn't ventured to the towns at all during the invasion, so that might be why he didn't really catch a glimpse of it then. Did the horseman have a big dragon pet and forget to bring it back?

"Er... W-well... Um.."

Who could they ask?

"A-Allan seems like a nice guy.. but.. don't really know him. Um... Maybe... Maybe Mark?"

The sun leader’s name immediately brought Wilson back to AU Allan. His lips parted slightly as he recalled the college textbooks and oishii drugs. A moment later, Wilson shook his head. “I don’t really know Allan either. Mark? The death assistant?” His opinion of the man was so-so at best, but he must be somehow skilled given his position.

“I guess I could try asking Mark about it later.” Wilson still didn’t get up from the ground. Maybe he was just going to rest here for a little bit longer. “I was going to ask you for another round at the course, but then I remembered we didn’t even start it in the first place.” Shaking his head, he finally sat up. “I think I've got my fill of training. Want to call it a day?”

Deryk nodded when Wilson asked for confirmation on who he meant by Mark. If anything, the Death Assistant should have some information. Information was a big part of the death division and all. So was life, but Clarice wasn't around and there was no way he was going to go ask H about what was happening here. Nope.

"Ahaha... yeah. Maybe another day. Had enough action today. After almost getting roasted by crazy fog dragon monster thing, yes," he laughed weakly.

Slowly, he pushed himself to his feet, though he wanted to go relax somewhere still.

"Er. Wanna go grab a snack then?"

Wilson softly laughed along with Deryk. He put the goggles back on before he rolled his neck. The hunter winced when he heard a tiny crack. “A snack sounds good. You think the cafeteria has anything good at the moment? Portals are mostly done still, right?”

He rolled his shoulders before ambling off the field, looking back to make sure the other hunter followed along.

"Uhh.. Think portals were fixed. Not sure if they're really being used though. But. Only one way to find out. Hopefully cafeteria has something edible. Hopefully coffee. Could go for some coffee right now, yes," Deryk nodded while slowly stretching out.

With that in mind, he just went on to follow Wilson.

Hopefully the dragon won't be back any time soon.
