Pulling her feet up onto the chair, Kat hugged them to her chest as she attempted to keep up with whatever it was Mark was going on about. Losing her half way through, she finally nodded her head as he finished. "Uhh, yep. Just like that." She was just going to pretend she understood whatever it was be just blabbed about.
Oh..right..she had forgotten that there was a whole tole thing going on with Mark to get information from him. "Well, not money. I'm broke. I used the last bit of what I had to patch up the holes in my room."

Since the golem mission things had been relatively quiet, which was pretty damn impressive given the usual state of the island. Rep had taken a good portion of the time to generally slack and do as close to nothing besides the usual training as he could humanly get away with. However, while lounging in the library he had overheard an unusual conversation between two hunters regarding information and how to get hold of it. Blackmail as a rule was entirely Rep's style, and he immediately found himself curious what sort of dirt he could get on other people, or, failing that, find out what sort of s**t they had on him. Death division sounded like the way to go.
The basement reminded him of home, the slightly dusty smell of warm computerss mingled with stale beer, the whirr of fans practically a siren song rather than simple white noise. He ignored the signs and stood in the doorway, arms folded.
"So I hear you are the guy with all the info." he stated gruffly, hoping that his overheard tipoff wasn't a red herring.

Mark opened his mouth -
- And was timely interrupted by another person approaching his Lair. He gave Kat a smug look. "One moment please as we put you on hold."
The chair turned a full two-hundred-and-seventy degrees the other way before slightly facing Rep's general direction. "So you have come for my services." Insert steepling of hands. And then a pause. "Well like you know, my awesome services, not those kind of services God, why would you even think of something like that?"
Actually it was pretty certain that Rep wasn't thinking of -
- "Anyway," the Death assistant continued, trying to play it cool. "As I was saying to someone who clearly has no money, I aint play the games if you aint go the dough." He made a pinching motion with his fingers just in case this newcomer was as slow as Kat.

Kat merely smiled sweetly as he turned his attention towards Rep. Though, by the time Mark would look back, a few of his models might be missing a few limbs after she had plucked them off.

Rep rolled his eyes, but resisted his usual outburst of furious ranting that followed people however vaguely implying he was interested in them. After all, he was trying to do business with this guy, not start a fight with him. Instead he said with just a hint of smugness, "I'm pretty booked up with those sort of services as is.", and moved on.
"But aye man, I'm aware how s**t goes. Nothing's ever for free." Kat got a fleeting dismissive glance from the redhead, of course she wouldn't have any money, women were notoriously terrible at running their own affairs. "But I have the money to back it up. I'm hardly at the bottom of the ladder, right? Otherwise I wouldn't even waste your time." It was a lie, he was pretty close to the bottom of the monetary ladder as things went, he broke a considerable amount of s**t and had to pay for it out of his wages. But lying was in itself its own little test of exactly how much Mark actually knew and if he was anywhere close to the level of intel Dwight liked to throw around on him.

"Absolutely not, hands off my stuff you crazy devil spawn - " Mark was all show and no action as he tried to force Kat to relinquish her finds without actually touching her. The tone took a whiny edge. "Please? That's my last The Incredible Hulk 1992 13 inch limited release action figure."
Preoccupied with the greater of the two evils, he distractedly waved at Rep. "Well, find a paper, and write what you need, I'll have it sent to you when I'm done. Text, e-mail, encrypted, the whole nine yards, though it'll cost you extra if you want the encryption. Also I don't do info on dudes okay, none of this dude matchup stuff, now sexy threesome chicks and we can talk but you better not be here because Dwight sent you, I mean it like, I have important things to do okay?"

Mark got another vaguely amused sort of smirk. "Naw, no matchups, I'm completely booked up on threesomes. And Dwight as it happens ******** loathes me. So no worries."
"Lemme just go get a pen." He headed over to rummage through the dissaray for a pen and paper, all while he did wondering what the hell he'd even like to ask. He hadn't thought too much about it, there was a lot of things he was curious about. Though when it came down to it, it was so tempting to ask one very specific thing he tended to obsess about. He thought he'd known his mother pretty well but it was only once she was dead and gone he realised she never spoke about her family, she never really told him anything much.
His father also was a closed book to him, and ever since they'd found the list a while ago with names of various people, he'd been curious exactly how much Deus even had on file about him he didn't know.
With a look of the most intense concentration he messily wrote the words " William R Reid - Family details if anything. + Anything else interesting you find they have on me."
And then with a lazy gesture he handed it over. "Encryption please dude, I don't want to be the next ******** betting pool of the day over at Life."

Pursing her lips together, Kat eye's squinted as she stared at Rep. Oh, she knew everything came with a price of some kind. But not everything had to be paid with money. She had other tricks up her sleeve.
Her attention was drawn back to Mark, as his whine was hard to ignore. Incredible? This green thing? Hulk, she could understand. In any case, anything this breakable was far from incredible. "Is that..something important..?" Feh, she had no idea what was of value when it came to tiny toys.
Her gaze shifted back to Rep again, curious as to what it was that Rep was up to. What was it, that Rep of all people, would be willing to pay Mark to find for him? Eh, oh well. It wasn't her business. Judging from his request, of it being encrypted, it was a private matter.

Mark gave Kat a look that said very much 'Is she for real?' He tried to react cautiously. "How about this just um, just put Hulkey Junior down and noone gets hurt, okay?" Insert a strange clacking noise. Was Mark-
- Yep. "And noone gets hurt," He repeated, while managing to type steadily into one of his dual screened monitors. "That's right, that's right- HOLY s**t."
The Death assistant stood up a little too fast, managing to topple several empty beer bottles. He also seemed to have forgotten entirely that they were empty and made a mad scramble for them before he remembered that they were indeed empty and nearly toppling a whole desk had been a rather fruitless act.
Mark stared at the screen then at the paper then at Rep, then quickly glanced a Kat to make sure Hulkey Junior wasn't bein hurt. He licked his lips rather nervously and then tried to casually lean against his cluttered desk. "Well uh, nice chatting with you, have a great day, office is closed now yep, closed, oh yeah make sure to leave the money here yeah, have a great day!"
Rep and Kat got shooing motions.

Rep couldn't help but be amused at the careful anxiety all but radiating from Mark as Kat eyed the toy, apparently dubbed - and it was hard to keep a straight face as he considered it - Hulkey Junior. Still, he could sort of sympathise, no one wanted a b***h touching all their stuff. Women just didn't understand the value of stuff.
Then, out of the blue, something seemed to spook the already jittery guy. He cringed as the bottles were sent flying, old familiar sympathetic instincts kicking in, he'd almost wrecked his rig a few times with bottles that hadn't-quite-been-empty-enough. But it seemed, at least thanks to the fact the monitors stayed on, that everything for the time being was still in operational order. He straightened up again carefully, giving Mark a suspicious look, but didn't push further, he was an assistant - same rank as Simon and Clarice. Sometimes you left well enough alone when it wasn't your business.
Fishing out his wallet with its very piratey motif, he grudgingly fished out the money and laid it on the table. Money was hard to come by, he'd be back around to bother the guy if he didn't hear from him eventually he thought to himself, he wasn't about to get scammed by a nerd, high rank or otherwise. "Awright. There." he grunted. "Later."
He didn't so much as say a farewell to Kat, simply gave her a grim sort of look as he turned to head out the door.
once?>
He couldn't.

Ryan was of two minds about whether or not he should come here. He knew very little of Mark and what he was like, but after being dealt with by the leader of his division, he was a little more than cautious. If he was anything like Caelius, well, he would sooner eat dirt than ask a favour. Still, Wilson had mentioned that the death assistant knew things and knew how to access certain files. So with a slight knock at the door, he waited for an answer.
"You sure this is a good idea?" He asked, glancing back at Wilson who was hanging back a little behind him.

Wilson shrugged as he trailed behind the trainee. “Well, Mark is certainly more amiable than Caelius, although he seems...” The hunter paused. “Odd. But it’s not something to the point that you can’t bear. It’s something you get used to, I think.” [Still weird.] Well…
He stood next to Ryan and stared at the door expectantly. Wilson just hoped there wasn’t another monstrous plant in Mark’s office.

The swivel chair creaked just slightly, revealing a thin frame, lurking in the darkness, illuminated by several glowing computer screens. A thin, disheveled figure wearing a shirt that said STARK ENTERPRISES, currently making a strange slurping noise thanks to a very large bottle of Big Gulp Seven Up (Very Berry slurpee flavour) in his one hand. In his free hand, he held up a finger, slurped even louder and noisier, and the placed the plastic cup down next to the pile of ten plastic cups all dangling precariously on one table between swathes of papers and beer bottles, steepling his fingers together.
"Hello there young padawans, welcome to Mark's Lair of Awesome." A pause. "You may look but you may not touch, for what you see, you cannot unsee." A playboy magazine revealing busty asian ladies college girls edition on the title suggested that perhaps the two visitors really couldn't unsee certain things. "And what services may I offer to you two fine gentlemen today?"

"Odd?" Judging by the slurping noises from behind the door, which had actually grown louder since they knocked, he had to wonder how odd was odd. But at least he sounded easier to deal with than the death lead.
Or... maybe.
"Padawans?" He repeated, eying the scrawny looking figure leaning back in his chair. He had thought Allan was weird with his code words like 'Nakama,' but apparently he wasn't the only one. As for the no touching part, well... he wasn't sure he wanted to touch anything at all. The place was as grimy looking as its owner and the decoration of porn mags... Ryan didn't even want to go there. "Ah, I--I mean Wilson--" He shoved the death hunter forward without warning, while he took a step back. "--said you knew stuff and well, he was curious to know if you could access some files, perhaps?"

“Odd,” he confirmed as he stepped inside. Plus side: no monster plant. Down side: not exactly the cleanest office he had ever seen. Wilson eyed the figure in the chair before straying toward the cups and bottles splattered across the desk. Mark really knew how to keep his office orderly.
“Like I said, odd,” Wilson murmured as he patiently listened to the death assistant. At least Mark was easier to understand than Allan. He recognized some of the words the older man used. The sun lead, on the other hand… He flailed slightly as Ryan pushed him forward. Wilson tried to turn toward Ryan, but the intention was clear. Wilson was the sacrifice.
He put on a smile. “Like Ryan said, we were hope you could access some files for us. In particular, the files relating to hunter bloodlines.”
