"Sometimes, I'll probably see them more now though." She picked up another strawberry and offered it Soterios before picking up a sandwich for herself. "I didn't know Itzal was a faery until then." The man always kept his wings hidden for some reason. Why was that?

"Wings are very, very good at getting in the way." A little too good, really. He knew allllllll about that. "And is he a fairy with those really delicate wings ? I figure they would be pretty fragile." Most insect wings were.
The idea of a broken wing was probably a bad one for... well, anyone. Thankfully this was not such an issue for him - scales made his own pair of wings much more resistant than one might think.

"They don't look delicate." Asedri shrugged, biting into her sandwich. They very well could be though, she did not get a chance to touch them. It wasn't really a polite thing to do without asking first.

"If they are big, then they might get in the way ?" He was very familiar with that problem, not so much thanks to size than to position. Through if they got bigger in time, then he would have both problems. "Other then that... Hm, then I have no idea. "
Another tuna sandwich was snatched up. Lindita had done a nice mix, with a bit of everything - since neither of them had been sure of Asedri's tastes. Xun Jiang's preferences definitively were toward fish, and that was obvious.

She shrugged again and retrieved a third berry for Soterios. <You really should slow down you know.> Or he was bound to be one fat rodent. Said rodent squeaked and plucked the strawberry from her fingers.
"So, what have you been up to?" Besides the obvious point of getting himself turned into a human.

"Beside the obvious ?" The dragon echoed her thoughts without truly realizing it. "Not much, really. Mostly spending time with my sister in law. She's going to have a baby, so I am helping her and her lover get ready." As much as he could, anyway. There were things the couple wanted to do themselves, and he was perfectly fine with that.
"There's a lot to figure out." And he was familiar with most of it, thankfully.

"There are lots of babies coming then." That made four that she knew of- she had heard Teilil and Shad'era talking about twins, then there was the other one that would have all those brothers. There would probably be more too, eventually. It was nice though, it meant more kids to play with eventually even if they were younger than she was.
"Do all gods have families?" It certainly seemed that way, but she was curious- she had only ever met Taj, Xun, Tien and Valor so far.

"Oh ?" He was not aware of that, of course. He knew the others had not wanted the twins' father to go along for the trip to Aejiss, but not the actual reasons. "I was not aware of anyone else."
And that question... was kind of tricky, actually. "Not all of them, I do not think." Some might have had any family they had distance themselves once the god took over the host, as Elik had tried to do. The gods themselves might have wanted nothing to do with connections that weren't theirs, especially if they had kept nothing of the host at all.
That was a little tricky to try to explain to a 10 years old, however - even one as bright as Asedri was.

"Oh." Asedri seemed surprised to hear that it was not the case. "So Taj, you and the others are different then?" She had no idea that in most of those cases the families had been the host's first and not the gods. Apparently Xun not getting out of avoiding explaining this so easily.

...Yeah, he should not have thought that he would get out of this so easily. "Yes, well..." His mind was racing to find a decent explanation for this. He really was not keen to explain how hosts worked to a ten years old, thank you very much.
Through, she lived with Taj, and so did Tristan... maybe she already knew ? "Well, not all gods are the same." They had already been thought that. "Did you ever wonder why you've never seen a god before recently ?"
Yikes. There they went.

Asedri shook her head. "I didn't even know they were real until recently."
Well, truth be told there was a lot she had not seen until a few months ago, having spent most of her life underground. It was not something anyone knew, save perhaps Taj but the god had his own way of finding out things. It was a subject she was not particularly keen on talking about. It was where her self imposed muteness came from actually. In Zrath's service you learned fast to be silent and do what you are told, even if you were a small child.

That seemed like a sensitive subject, and so the Dragon King wisely did not pry. Instead he took the answer he was given until he continued on. "That was because there were not many gods again until recently." He admitted. "Beside my Lord Harmodius. He was all alone for ages upon ages, because we all faded away."
He rested his chin on on top of his knees once he brought his legs up. This clearly was a bit sensitive for him, as it was for many gods. "We were gone, and we needed help to come back again."

Asedri tilted her head a bit. "You mean like Tristan...Priscilla....or Jaster?" She knew of hosts, but not exactly what the process entailed. And she had absolutely no idea why it made Xun so uncomfortable.

Ah, so she knew some, at least. He only recognized one name out of three, but that was enough. "Yes, like that. Whisteria was Illisia's - my mortal's - sister in law. We are the same person now, so she is my family." He hoped that made sense.
His own experience - as far as it only concerned Illisia - was not what bothered him, not really. That was easy to explain by now. But it was not such a simple black and white process, overall. The shades of gray were infinite. "There are gods who have their own divine children, like Echo and Kios. I have a son too, who was Illisia's."
Through she would likely be surprised how old his son was. "Not all the gods take their mortal's place in their families, through. Just a mortal might not have any living relatives anymore."

She nodded- it did make sense. Though, she did not ask aloud she could could not help but wonder if there were families that did not want anything to do with the god in question either. On some levels it seemed silly, but she could sort of understand. The god was not the family member who had died for them after all.
"She is probably glad to have you then and I'm sure your son is too."
