Before Hekate could speak up Devith stepped up to the bronze rider folding his wings smartly and giving the man look with his whirling green and blue eyes. Plexith is not a bronze! He is a slightly miscolored silver! Devith replied his voice chipper and sure of his observation even as his rider broke down into laughter.

"D'lin~ I think!" Hekate tried to say before the look on her dragon's face once more made her break down. "I think that was a compliment." She finally managed to gasp out between laughs shaking her head as Devith gave her a rather scolding look. Of course it's a compliment! I would not claim just anyone was a silver especially not with a compliment of such a high order coming from me! The little silver corrected his rider who bend slightly to rub his eyeridge and smile in an attempt to sooth the irritated young hatchling.

Tail twitching with annoyance Devith turned to glance at his brother meeting the blue's nudge with a gentle nudge of his own as he eyed his sibling checking for any injuries. Seeing none the rather possessive little dragon seemed to settle down. I am well Solath. How fairs you and yours? I cannot have my siblings at anything, but their best. Devith replied his ego quickly recovering though his rider's laughter still drew him into a bit of a sulk.

It was a nice compliment. I'm sorry I laughed Dearest one. Hekate murmured gently in her silver's mind. It still surprised her how such little things could wound her usually confident life mate.

Eyeing her for a moment Devith considered her words before giving a small nod. Apology accepted Mine, but do not think I will make nice with the red haired two-legger. She insulted MY siblings. Devith rumbled, but turned his attention to his more interesting clutchmate.

Bright spots of red flared up on her cheeks as Cai's eyes narrowed and her lips pursed. So this woman thought she could get away with insulting Benden?! "You should know that same lesson applies to humans as well Rider." she spat back, her nails biting deep into the flesh of her palms as she balled her fists

Right after she said it another voice chimed in. When she turned her glare on him it softened, he was backing her up! That was much more acceptable. "Thank you, Bronzerider." She stressed his title even as Hekate began to laugh for some unknown reason. "I'm being welcomed as well as can be imagined I suppose, given the history between our two Weyrs and recent events not many are fond of seeing Benden knots on anyone's shoulders." She cast her eyes back to Hekate pointedly. "They are quick to judge."

Sighing, as it never seemed to end with women, "Hekate, not everyone is in the same mind frame. And now, they are Trine people." It wasn't fair to judge others just because of where they came from. Bad things happened and he didn't want a fight started here, now.

Mine is well. Worried about family. I am good, growing and I have an itch. The blue nudged His. Mine, I itch. Solath turned to look at the spot, and the flit that was on him.

D'lin tried really hard not to smile at the little hatchlings comment, having dealt with Plexith as a youth he was quite well aware that questioning or reacting in anyway other then thankful for such remarks would do nothing but irritate the young beast. "Thank you Devith" He told the silver in a serious tone "That will mean a lot to Plexith" He added, winking to Hekate when the dragon turned to pay attention to the blue.

Turning his attention to the Benden women he gave her an apologetic look "Please don't hesitate to come and get me if you are being ill treated, I certainly won't stand for it from anyone from my Wing - things are done differently here and yes, we have our differences, our hurdles in the past - but you are riders and weyrfolk and that will have to be enough to bridge our gaps for the moment. We can't stand against the Handlers treachery if we can't even get along within our own ranks" He stated.

"In any case, the clutch looks healthy if any of you would like to take one home, I doubt the mother will be back - it looks like a green clutch number wise but they were born in the aftermath of battle in my Wing Headquarters..so perhaps they will be brave and strong" He added, holding out his hands to the gathered people so that they could select an egg if they wished.

Taking Egg 2

The girl apparently wasn't half as observation as she believed herself to be as Hekate cocked her head slightly eyeing the other red head with a smile. "I never said so much as a word about Benden dear. You asked about Atypicals and I was explaining their merits despite you insulting my dragon, my dragons clutch and my dragons siblings." Hekate added sweetly before casting a glance at F'iar and giving him a frown.

"If anything she's the one inferring insult when none was given." She made it a distinct point to point out. "People might be a little less quick to judge if you perhaps were not so quick to judge them in turn." The girl added with narrowed eyes, but her voice never rose above the calm reasonable tone she had chosen to use. After all Hekate had not been the one dismissing a dragons worth merely for the color of his hide. While yes Devith certainly was no walk by the lake to deal with he deserved to be treated as respectfully as any other dragon Atypical or no and not have his worth dismissed for the color of his hide.

Now though F'iar had caught the fiery rider's attention as she turned full glittering amber eyes on him instead. "I have been nothing, but perfectly nice F'iar, I have not brought up a single word nor insult towards her Weyr or where she's from despite her doing such to Mine. I have explained carefully to her what I know of Atypicals, ignored slights against my dragon I recognize as being caused by ignorance AND even allowed her to examine Devith. I could not treat her more like one of our own short of giving her a set of Trine knots. If you expect me to just lay down and let myself be made the victim just because she is new here then you have very much the wrong impression of me." Hekate replied making it a careful point to go down the list of the slights she'd been given in the very short time of meeting the Benden girl and more her fury at one of the other weyrlings being so blind as to accuse HER of discrimination because the girl was from a sharding different Weyr. Indeed it was a rather bitter sweet irony when not months before all the Weyrs had discriminated her for where she was from.

Devith calmly eyed his rider his tail lashing and red eyes whirling to reflect the latent anger and betrayal she felt. F'iar would not walk away from this slight forgotten by him. Yours should have left her be. Devith warned his sibling though it turned into an amused snort at the firelizard on the blue's back.

Eyeing the bronzerider Devith nudged His forward Hekate stepping up to pick the redish brown egg. Plexith is welcome. Devith added though his tone was a good deal darker at his rider's fellows blatant betrayal. Hekate took the bronzerider's wink a little more good naturedly keeping her face stony and giving him a small nod as she took her egg then turned to leave only pausing to level a hard glare at F'iar for his accusation before.

"Next time you accuse me of treating someone as anything other then a member of Trine careful to check the truth of your accusation. Because she's been treated as nothing, but an equal or better. Were she not new you or any other sane rider would have torn her to shreds over such a slight to their dragon." Hekate replied both as a correction to F'iar and as she turned and gave a nod to the other girl, a warning to Cai. Perhaps the girl would get into a good deal less trouble for this incident if she had the good sense to see where she'd went wrong.

Taking egg 3

Kalania wisely kept out of the conversation between the riders, watching things unfold in silence. Berylin seemed to sense her unease because the little green appeared out of nowhere, landing on Kala's shoulder and crooning into her ear almost reassuringly. The young girl was shy on her best days, and being around so many people she didn't know made her wary.

When the the orangish egg was taken, she darted forward and grabbed the purple one before hastily making her escape.

[[Taking Egg #5]]

"SHE'S the Victim?! Dragonshit if that comment wasn't directed at Benden. Atypicals teaching sharding lessons. She knows Benden hasn't accepted atypicals yet unless she's had her head up her sharding arse since birth." Cai seethed after the Silverrider had left. That woman had better hope she didn't find herself in the healers tent anytime soon. Cai would not forget this quickly. She flipped her hair angrily over her shoulder and turned to the young man and his blue hatchling. "Thanks for trying. You as well Bronzerider. I at least won't judge all of Trine by one woman's words."

She's noticed the woman had grabbed an egg before she left. Spurred by some unknown competitive instinct, Cai stepped forward and scooped up the little pink egg. She had no idea what she would do with a flit. She really didn't need to be watching over and caring for one but if Hekate was going to be walking away with one shells if Cai wasn't as well.

[Egg 1]
F'iar stared as Hekate stormed off with the glare. A quick shrug at her assumption of him jumping on her, it had been more a casual remark to not get uptight about the color of her dragon. He had made friends with the Benden rider, and found out that not all looked down on Atypicals. A chirp from Solath's back reminded him to pick up the last egg. A pretty blue that matched His dragons hide. "Yes Solath, we will go get that taken care of." He gave D'lin a quick salute and made his way towards his shared weyr of blue dragons.

With the eggs all claimed and the women storming off, D'lin couldn't do anything but shake his head - he suspected that this confrontation would not be the last one like it now that everyone was crowded into one weyr. One weyr..with three weyr's viewpoints,

It was going to be a hard few months. Cradling the little egg in his hand he looked around the rubble he'd found them in. "I think I might have to name you Rubble...no matter what you turn out to be" He told the little egg before heading off to find a safe place to keep it.
