Herbaceous And your crying stone eye wouldn't quite work either since it's man made. I suggest going through the gallery of currently existing fel essences for ideas. I know how hard it can be making a fel essence. :c But, you can do it! My suggestion is, don't make it too complex. Sometimes, the simplest idea is the best idea. Say maybe... say something like Dry Rainbow or Independent Rainbow? Rainbows normally require moisture to appear, but maybe this one got caught in the storm and is now able to exist on its own being reliant on moisture and other necessary conditions for the right light refraction for a rainbow to normally occur. But the stone it was made from was found by a waterfall. It was a naturally occurring rock that was edited by human hands. I understand that the statue itself is made by a human being, but the rock it was made from wasn't. Doesn't that still count?
And there's a Raevan with the essence "Fragment o'rainbow" already in existence. I can't use rainbows. :/
And wouldn't looking through already existing ideas be a little pointless? Those ideas are taken and shouldn't be able to give inspiration. But, that could just be my opinion.

Absolutely wrong. I wouldn't have come up with my Lingering Smoke essence if I hadn't been looking at all existing essences all the time. It was Lazarus's Eternal Flames that finally gave me the idea for the smoke.
It's not just looking at existing ones either, it's looking at the ones other questers are coming up with too. It helps stimulate your mind and help it to truly understand what it is that makes a fel essence a good fel essence. Herb is right in saying that it is typically easier to take something simple and make it contradict itself. Most of the existing essences are just that. Smoke that never dissipates, fire that never burns out, shadows that cast themselves and the list goes on.
There is a second type of essence that is a bit harder since it's a play on metaphors. Ekundayo's essence is the best example for this, Cloud of Despair. In reality there is no such thing as an actual cloud that lingers over people to rain on them constantly and make them utterly depressed. In the Lab, because of the storm, one such cloud was able to come into existence.
Your essences (the ones that have a description anyway) are close, but still lacking something that would truly make them a fel essence. It's hard for me to picture what sort of powers your Raevan would have from any of them. You don't have to state them in your description, you just need to keep them in mind when creating the essence. More often than not a Raevan's ability comes from their essence rather than their soul, though this all depends on the Raevan of course. Most people try to have a good balance of both.
As for your crying stone statue, that's one you'd have to run by Kyou once you've got it solidified. Yes it's true that the stone is not man-made, but a statue is, thus it all depends on what Kyou says in the end.

Well not quite.
Sai'da's essence is just that. Fragments of a rainbow.
Her powers are more specific to colors, where Independent Rainbow could be in a whole different field. I'm not saying USE THIS FEL ESSENCE IDEA I JUST GAVE YOU. It was an example of coming up with simple fel essences.

Update::
I really want to pick this back up, but I'm just at a loss for Fel Essences. If I could just find something easy and pretend to like it, maybe it wouldn't be so difficult. |3

Hey Pidgeons! Don't worry so much about fel essences, there are plenty of events where the fel essence is supplied. Make sure you really love your guardian and Raevan personality idea and maybe toss some fel essence ideas around (to get used to them), but there's no need to stress yourself unnecessarily about fels unless you're going for a RL custom. o uo <3

I just came up with an idea, which I'd like to share. <3 There may be one more coming.Quote: Drinkable Rainbow
This colorful liquid was found deep in an ancient jungle within the once pure blue waters of a waterfall. It requires no filtering and can be used in any drink as if it were ordinary water, however, it does have a habit of staining almost everything it touches.

Hey Pidgeon > w<
As much as I love drinkable rainbow, I personally feel like you're right in being hesitant about using it because of Sa'ida. However, there are multiple flame/fire based essences in the Lab and Sa'ida has been inactive for a long time. I think, if you're really passionate about doing something with rainbows, you should just contact a member of staff and ask them how they feel about the similarity. It may not be a problem at all, but I'd hate for you to put time and effort into developing something and then be unable to move forward with it in the end.
As for the stump, why is it only a stump? How come the tree was able to be removed/cut down but not the stump itself? Does it have something to do with the roots? The ground?

I don't know many people in the shop and I'm not certain who is staff or not. |3
I was going to make it a stick, to play on how much dogs like to chase sticks, but I thought a stump would be better for the whole idea. Now, the stump itself was in a forest of trees like looked healthy and were able to be destroyed, but the stump appeared dead and could not be destroyed. It looks old, decrepit and removable, but it's "chemical make up" says otherwise, sort of like an elderly immortal God from tales and legends. They appear weak and helpless, but they're really strong and unbreakable. Does that help make sense of it? :3

You can message either Chrystali or Ravina Loki about it > w< They will both be happy to help you I'm sure! Mmm, I understand about what the stump looks like, but it doesn't really answer why the stump itself is special as opposed to the whole tree. How come you could cut the tree down if this is supposed to be a strong/unbreakable item? The chemical make-up only goes so far up? Or was the tree cut down before the storm?

Yep, the stump was a stump before the storm! |3 I should have made that more clear. It was on it's way out, or dying, when the storm happened, thus, the storm caused it to become "eternal." Should I edit it that in to make it more clear?

Yea, I would do so > w< Don't be afraid to be descriptive and tell the story of an essence, even if it's 'obvious' - Liquid Aurora Borealis doesn't really even need a description, but it's nice to show people what I imagine when I see my essence in my head.
