"See? You just said it yourself! That you suppose you could try another path, but you haven't have you?!." Mot coughed, having gotten more heated than he meant to. "You didn't try. Your old path has left you feeling weak, right? Well it will only get worse. It did it's job. It made you physically strong. Now you need a new path. A new way of thinking. What will this do for you and Mitsu?"
He made a very animated and sarcastic shrug. "I don't know! But you know what? It is very likely it will do SOMETHING. Positive or negative, it will do something."
"So, no. Your options are NOT limited. Your options are plentiful. You're just too pig headed to give them a JackDamn chance."
"Fine. Have it your way. You're a terrible person. A terrible person who wishes with all his being that the one he loves will love him back. Now colour me ignorant, but that's got to be one of the most heartbreaking things I've heard. I feel for you, I really do. Whether you want me to or not, I care what happens to you."

Shun glared at the cowboy darkly as he listened to him rant off about the way he was. He had been annoyed at first but now he could feel anger bubbling up within him as Mot continued to talk. He was talking some pretty strong words here, but the last bit stung a bit more than anything else. Despite that, he managed to keep his voice fairly even as usual.
"I will never understand why any of you care about what happens to me," he said quietly while taking a step back, "Some people just don't change. I've been around violence far too much for there to be any hope for me to function properly in a truly peaceful lifestyle. Just as someone so set in peace will likely not be suitable in a highly violent position. If you think otherwise, then you're just one more person I'll have disappointed."

Mot bubbled with anger. Shun was more than just pig headed. He wasn't even sure if it was pride that was blocking his way anymore.
"Then you know what, Shun?" Mot was about to regret this, but he couldn't hold back. "I hope she never remembers you. I never want Mitsu to have to be around a violent, stubborn, HORRIBLE man like you. NEVER." His words were foreign to the cowboil's own mouth, dripping with bitterness.
"You hate the idea of change so much, you'd put the ones you love in danger to stay on your evil and heinous path. So just.. disappear from her life. She doesn't need you after all. Losing her memory is the best thing that has happened to her."

For a moment, the reaper went rigid at Mot's words, but soon anger spiked within him. Dropping the bag for a moment, his daggers were quickly summoned. One hand shot out to try and grab the cowboy by the collar while the other was to attempt to press a blade to the other's throat.
"The concepts of good and evil have no place in times of war," he hissed sharply while staring hard into the eyes of the other reaper.

Mot didn't flinch as Shun grabbed him, eyeing down the smaller reaper with an angry grimace. "What'd the matter Shun?" Mot asked in a snide tone. "Did I piss you off? Or are you mad because it's true? I'm dying to know."
Mot narrowed his eyes. "You don't scare me with your little knife there, boil." Mot uttered darkly, summoning his rifle and pointing it at Shun's abdomen. "I stand by what I said. If you continue to be the way you are, or come close to your actions getting any one of my friends hurt?"
He released the safety on his rifle.
"I'll find a way to end you. Not your existence mind you. I'm no murderer. But that's the thing. I'll find a way because I love to learn new things. Unlike you, who wallows in the filth of his previous misdeeds."

Shun's grip was weak and shaky. Aside from the anger, he was exhausted and it was starting to show more now than before. Glancing down, he saw the shotgun aimed at his stomach. He didn't answer right away as he stayed where he was, staring back at Mot. A multitude of things were rushing through his mind. Some things were tugging back and forth, fighting. In a way, that might be why he hadn't just slit the cowboy's throat and just continued to stand there with the blade at his throat.
"Go ahead. Fire," he said darkly, finally.

"Why should I?" Mot asked, lifting a brow. "What would dissipating you accomplish?"

"Then why draw your weapon if you have no plans of using it?" Shun asked. Again, he didn't move, seemingly torn on whether he should try to kill Mot on the spot.

"I could ask you the same thing." Shun hadn't even tried to slit his throat yet. His grip on Mot's collar was weak. There had to be some hesitation on Shun's side. "I simply drew my weapon in response to a dagger being pointed at my throat."

Gritting his teeth, Shun's daggers vanished and he let go of the taller Reaper.
"I did have plans on using them," he said simply, sounding a little distant. He did. As a response to the 'dagger' in his chest. Glancing away, he just picked up the bag he had dropped and turned around. Mot's earlier words had echoed how he felt.
He knew she deserved better. And yet he couldn't leave.

Mot dismissed his rifle, watching Shun quietly a moment.
"It won't be easy. But there is always a way to change. If you love her as much as I think you do, you'd change. You'd find a way. But it won't happen by insisting it's pointless to try."

Shun stopped from walking off just yet, but he didn't turn around to face Mot either. It almost sounded like the cowboy still cared despite this. Why?
"I can't let myself grow soft.." he said quietly, "Especially if I am to have any chance at getting back at Candace for this.. Besides, I've made too many enemies already."

Mot's heart fell. It hurt. He still wouldn't try. He'd never listen. Never. He'd continue his stupid path of vengeance. Stupid path of so called 'strength'.
Mot didn't say a word. He fought back a deep sadness that seemed to want to well up just then.
He turned slowly, and left.

Hearing no reply, Shun just walked ahead silently. He couldn't grow soft. Doing so was just as dangerous he felt. And yet...
The reaper shook his head and just continued to walk.
Friends and love.. Did they really only bring pain in the end?
