This place was... new.
That was to be certain. Since he had left the coast it had gotten wetter, greener, more... tree-filled. Pleasant though. It was diferent from his home by far. He hadn't see any sand anywhere, and the smell of salt was gone. Left was only rain, and the almost pleasant offer of an upcoming spring.
The brightly colored wolf headed into the new territory, a mildly interested look on his colorful face as he studied everything around him. Tree. Bird. 'Nother tree. His paws barely touched the ground as the light-weight Kite conducted his self made adventure. He was already amused. It didn't take much for him. He considered whistling. It was pretty evident that he wouldn't find anyone he knew here. Which wasn't nessesarily a bad thing, it was about time he moved out and left his parents alone. The new scents he was finding here were throwing off his sence of smell though. It might prove a problem, but he figured he would worry about that later. Worrying could always wait for later.

(Sorry for the wait, had to do dishes. >XP)

Ran was a wolf first and a shaman second.
... Okay, maybe not. For the day, that's how the order had went. Ran didn't know if all the wolves who would be fighting had fought themselves out yesterday, or if every violent being just decided to take an off day. Whatever the reason, she'd had no one to heal, no place she had to go, and she'd enjoyed the free time as much as possible.
"Which way should Ran go now?" the wolf questioned. The squirrel clung to her ears with his tiny paws, dangling from her head. To her question, he provided only an annoyed grunt.
"Ran will go right, then." And right Ran went. She had a horrible habbit of looking down when she was walking. When she finally looked up, she nearly stumbled back at the sight of the stranger.
Damn, he was bright!

He thought he might have smelled something. The wolf slowed to a near stop, slowly heading on as he thought of what it was. He was so distracted with his whole magical process of trying to figure out what it was, mainly by staring into the sky and running though a list of interesting words, that he didn't really notice the other wolfs precense until she was there.
Was that a squirrel?
Kit grinned at the new wolf happily and wagged his tail. He hadn't seen a new wolf in awhile. He was afraid he might get bored. Facing her easily he greeted her with a cheerful, "Yo!" and another tail wag.

Yo...?
Squirrel and wolf exchanged questioning glances. What a weird way to say hello. And, more odd than that, was he was just so friendly right from the start. While that probably shouldn't have been near as unusual as it was, it had been a long, long time since Ran had came across a wolf like that. Lately, most would tell you to go away, ignore you, or just flat out maul you.
"Yo," the shaman repeated slowly, trying the word out.

He grinned a little wider at the statment. It would have saddened him if she had not had said hi back. He was a generaly friendly wolf, and although other wolves were often warry of strangers he had never had a reason to. Although out of the few other wolves he had met, not many had responded to him near as cheerfuly as he had. Kite was kind of a freak.
"Is that a squirrel?" he asked, he hadn't ever seen a wolf with a squirrel, he had only ever seen a few of them before that time, and they didn't seem to like him. And he couldn't catch them either.

"How smart of him to notice," the little rodent grumbled to himself, releasing his grip on the grey and black ears, sliding to the ground. Something told him they'd be here for a while.
Ran was always happy to meet someone new--which was good considering her line of 'work'--such outgoing, generally nice people threw her off. Maybe there were still more out there, after all.
The runt nodded to his question, making an agreeing 'mm' sound. "This is Ran Squirrel," she introduced, shifting forward then sitting down. "And Ran is Ran."

"Ran is Ran?" he asked, glancing upward thoughtfuly and twitching his ear slightly. A moment of thoughtful expression lately he grinned again and wagged his tail, "Hello Ran and Ran-Squirrel, I'm Kite," he said chiperly, bobbing his brightly colored head slightly.
This small grey wolf seemed nice. How fun! He wondered if she liked adventuring too. The light wolf rocked a bit on the ball of his toes happily, smiling still.

Jeesh, how weird. ...Now what?
With no arguement or 'Go away!' Ran didn't know what to do! By now, she'd be annoying any other wolf. "Uh, Ran hasn't seen you here before," she stumbled in a pathetic attempt to start a conversation.
Only after she said it did she realize how strange it was she'd never even seen him walk by or at the river or anything. More so because of his coloring. He wasn't dull-looking like her.

He blinked and thought about it for a moment sitting down so quickely it almost looked like falling. He twitched his nose before turning his gaze back to the other wolf. She must have been from around here. She didn't smell like other wolves, as far as he could tell. His nose was still trippy though.
"I haven't been around here before, I used to live by the ocean. Do you live here? Is there anything cool around here? Have you ever seen a bear!?" he fired off the excited, happy questions, barely breathing. It was quite clear that he was a hyper kind of wolf. He probably had a short attention span too.
