“That is impressive” Arian agreed “Especially the filigree – filigree’s so hard to do, but the end result is so pretty and to be able do that without the tools that we have available these days – well I think it’s pretty amazing.”

He smiled ruefully “But I’m probably boring you though.” Discussion about jewellery-making wasn’t everyone’s idea of good conversation filler, which reminded him. “We’re almost at the rescue home by the way, I guess maybe another five minutes of walking or so.”

Their conversation had ended lapsing into silence, but it hadn’t felt like an uncomfortable one to Arian. After walking past a few more shops the dark-haired teen did his best to nod towards a pretty red-brick building with a white roof and the words ‘The Ark – Second Chances for DC’s Critters’ inscribed on a small plaque on the side of the building.

“And there it is.” The building in question was probably hard to miss, there were a few balloons tied to each side of the double doors leading into the building and someone had put up a large white cloth banner, with the words ‘Cake Bake on Today’ painted on in thick black paint hanging above the doors.

Arian smiled at Aggie, “The reception is through the doors and to the left, they’re all really nice there.” It would also be where they would part ways given that as a donator Arian had to drop his baked goodies off and check on the cupcakes before he could check out some of the other baked treats on offer. “Maybe I’ll see you a little later though once I’ve dropped my donations off.” It had been pleasant speaking to Aggie on the walk over and the dark-haired teen would be happy to talk to her again during the sale if she wanted to.
