She was having second thoughts on going there, she remembered her personality, how she came to be alone, she wasn't much of a friend maker, that was for sure, she really didn't really know what she wanted, she knew any waterbuck on their own would give anything to get there, but she wanted to protect this poor creature, getting attacked all the time was no way to live a life, it needed to be happy, fulfilled, she didn't want him killed, it wasn't right, he was different, what was so horrible about that? she liked him, as a friend, and decided what she would do.
"i would rather make sure you dont live your life in misery then have me safe as i can be, i know i wont be of much help, but its not right for someone as nice as you to live like that" she thought the statement would finally convince hime to stay, he was stubborn, but she has listened to many lions conversations, and she noticed that alot of lions had a slight hint of stubborness to them, even though she hadnt run into many lions in her life.
She lied down slowly and listened to the calm breeze rustling the grass, and watched the pond move in the slow, whispering breeze.

Misery? He didn't take his hardship as misery. He had grown up in a place with no hardship, and he was just now getting it. Some go through hardship early on, and him, it happened to happen when he was an adult, and probably better that way. He could handle it more. Did she think that he was helpless? He had claws, and teeth. He could help himself if he really needed to. It was just far easier to run away from it.
He gave her a soft smile, a token for her concern. "I wouldn't worry too much about me," he paused. "Remember, I eat meat." He couldn't say he didn't. He had tried, once, to eat something like grass and leaves, but it was nasty, and only made him sick. He was what he was, he accepted that. She wasn't any match for raving about protection, she didn't even have horns. Though, hooves could be dangerous if hitting the right spots, he had supposed. He gave a shrug. "I grew up without a worry in the world, and now I face my hardship that'll truly shape me into who I'm suppose to be." He said with a smile.
"I accept what I am, but I'm not sure anyone else has." He said with a chuckle. "I'm not the one that needs help, Kaless." He said. "These lands are very cruel, but less cruel to me than to the likes of you." He didn't want that to sound harsh, and he wasn't trying to be. He liked this waterbuck, and he knew that she meant well. She was young, and he could see it. Perhaps younger than he was. He wasn't sure. He flicked his thick tail back and forth. "How about we both keep eachother protected," He wasn't sure how that would work out. They needed someone else to join them. Someone more... strong than he could ever hope to be. Or maybe someone a little less strange. A lion friend, or even a leopard... The only problem would be if they'd want to eat Kaless or not.

She wasn't surprised about his reaction, after all, how could she protect him from the hardship that followed him. Why did she even offer? she was silly to at that, if she was a male, maybe she would have a chance, but she was a female, and she was timid, and she could run, her hoofs could be powerful if she put enough force into the hit, but, she wouldn't hurt another creature, even if it was trying to kill her. she was bad with guilt, and didn't like the fact that she might be responsible for death. she shook the thought from her head. "yes, i suppose its good that you face a hard life now, its better that way. and your right, you can take care of yourself, and i shouldn't be worried." she gave a gentle smile.
She liked the thought of someone keeping an eye out for her, a companion to talk with, for she was very lonely, and didn't like making friends out of the blue. he seemed strong, and the only downside to travelling was the extra attention, she didn't want her death brought by him, but she knew if she needed to she would run and he would stay. she wondered for a minute if he knew any secret places they could travel and sleep without being harrased. she just had to ask "would you happen to know any safe place to travel that no other creatures know of?" she wasn't too hopeful, as she really wasn't sure where this male had come from or where he had been

Calisto really didn't have friends, nor did he really think his family cared too much if he wondered off. He wasn't exactly very close to them. He had a sister he had talked to once, but the rest of his family kinda had distance between him and them. Not that he minded too much, he figured that was how life was, and he just went with it. He spent most of his life by himself, and keeping himself occupied, even though he did live with others. Perhaps what he needed was change, change from his old life, and start a new one. This could be the start of something new. He smiled at the water buck, strange creature he had been curious about for a long time. Mystery solved, on a small things. She seemed nice and wondered why other creatures like himself didn't interact with them more. He knew that they ate them when hungry, but what if they weren't hungry?
Of course he had never met someone who had friends that weren't something on the menu. He flicked his tail and listened to the female quietly. He didn't know what to say really. He had said most of what he needed to say. He shook his head at her question. "I really don't know many places, so I can't say that I do." He didn't know why she had asked that, didn't she want to be with those of her own kind? Things confused him, and he couldn't say that he wanted to know why they did. He yawned and looked at her. "If you're wanting somewhere to sleep, I could try to help you get into a tree?" He knew that most lions and cheetahs couldn't climb, and he hadn't seen a leopard for days now.

she thought some more about getting to the pride they talked about. maybe it was time for her to find someplace to settle for good. though she didn't know here it was, and, she really didn't know anything about it at all. she didn't even know if it was actually real. "are you sure i should? im really not that much of a socialite and..." she shook her head. it was time, her mother would have told her that a long time ago anyways, but it was good she decided what time she could go into a pride, a haven for her kind.
"no, i think i am sure, i will go, but i need to get supplies first, you don't have to help me, but you can if you want." she smiled lightly. she needed to get a move on soon, as the evening air was setting in, it was getting more and more dangerous to be outside. she could be gone by now, but she didn't want to just leave the lion there either, she was too kind, it was her mothers trait. she waited silently as she watched the sun slowly go closer and closer to the horizon.

He smiled at her as he rolled over on his back, letting his mane flop into the water a bit. "Look, half the fun of things is figuring them out and going on adventures" He told her with a nod. "If we can't find that place of your kind, then we can always end up finding something else just as grand." He said with a soft chuckle. She didn't need to worry too much, he never did. He always took life as it came. Sometimes it wasn't good, but he got through it, and if she needed help, he would be there. He had nothing else to do after all.
"Where ever you end up is where it's suppose to be."

She loved the thought of an adventure, especially if it was with a friend. "i would love to go with you, its an adventure, and what i need, i still need to gather a few things though." she needed food, and maybe a few flowers for trade. she never traded much, but it came in handy sometimes. "we should get some grass here, and then i can run and grab some flowers, i might wanna trade them for info" she smiled, and was thinking of other things she could bring, but she didn't want to weigh herself down too much.
She nibbled on the tall grass as the sun set even more, and waited for Calisto to respond.

Calisto didn't think anyone needed anything to leave. He didn't. He'd find everything he needed to survive as they went. That's how he did things. Well, wasn't like he could carry around a few dead things and hope they'd keep fresh as they went. They'd rot within a few days. He didn't want to carry around smelly stuff anyways. How very messy it would be too.
He stared at her, did she think he was gonna be a pack mule? He wasn't gonna carry her stuff. She could find grass easier than he could find something to kill and eat. He shook his head, "how are you going to carry all that?" He asked her curiously.

She thought about this for a moment "i guess i dont need anything, i can go for a bit without food" she had never actually gone somewhere before, so she wasn't sure if she would find anything to eat, but she probably would. "i just, never really traveled anywhere before thats all." she chuckled, she was excited, more excited then she had ever been, and she hoped she would find this place soon, it sounded nice to live without having to worry about her own safety.
She stood and waited for Calisto to lead the way, as she had no idea which way to go, and maybe they would even find another rouge on their way. she was getting tired, which made her thoughts short and tired she closed her eyes for a moment and almost collapsed from sleep but refrained from doing so.

He chuckled. "Food will be all around you, Kaless" He said with a nod. He had seen other kind of prey creatures eat grass that she was, and it was everywhere, plus there were berries he knew of that even he liked to eat. "Who knows, maybe you'll find something new that tastes really good." he added. He loved trying new things, though he didn't think he could try a waterbuck until after this one was away from him.... If ever. He might think of her if he tried killing one. She was sweet, it'd make him sad. Perhaps he wouldn't eat them, unless he saw a mean one, he could handle eating a mean waterbuck.
"Oh, you want to go now? We could always wait until morning?" He didn't know if he was up for a long walk yet. He eyed the bottom of his paws for a moment. But if she really wanted to leave now, he supposed he could suck it up and they could find a good place to rest in the process of them heading on their way. He smiled at her. "Though, I suppose we could find a good sleeping spot in the process." Calisto wasn't sure if he could lead the way either, he never had been followed before. There was always a first for everything, however.

she lied down on the ground and thought about sleep and dreams. it was probably a good idea to sleep now and wait for morning to come. "trying something new sounds fun! and your right, it would be best to wait until morning." she was very tired, though she didn't do much at all today. it was fine though, as they had a long way to go.
she closed her eyes and was almost falling into a deep sleep, but before she could she shook her head, as she wanted to wait for Calisto to signal he was ready to rest too. she looked up into the darkening sky waiting for him to lie down and rest for their long day ahead.

He moved towards his new odd found friend, and decided to lay down by her. Perhaps if another creature came, they'd be less likely to bug them if they though he was a lion. He hid his tail to where no one would be able to see at first glance. He had heard stories of lions taking on friends that were stuff that they ate, so maybe it didn't look as strange as he originally would have thought. He yawned and decided that perhaps tomorrow will be the start of a new day. A new adventure, and new places to see.(Finished?)

She slowly closed her eyes as she thought about the journey ahead of her, and adventure with a friend, she hadn't done that since she was younger, which was a while ago. it would be nice to not travel alone anymore, for now anyways. she was excited she thought she wouldn't sleep, but she had fallen asleep in the blink of an eye, without a worry in the whole desert, which was uncommon, being her species. A new day would come, and they would start their trek into new places Kaless had never been before. it was a nice thought to sleep on.
