Satori was knocked back by the powerful combination attack.
"Gangrel, continue to wait for them to come to you. Satori, torment the torchic."
Gangrel continued to wait, as much as he didn't want to. Satori looked to the torchic and asked {Well, is that it? No flashy fire today, little bird?}

((Where did Gangrel's +50 ATK come from o3o? Was it an HP bonus trade thing? ))
Hestia's brightly colored feathers ruffled and fluffed out at the jab <"I'll show you some flashy fire!"> She huffed a small blue flame from her beak. Clyde snapped at her, "Hey! No fire just yet," He pondered his next move. "Hestia, Hone Claws," They needed to get to the Rattata soon, though divide and conquer still stuck in his head. "Ares, continue with Flare Blitz on the Liepard,"
The Torchic spat a small blue flame at the ground as she focused dark energy into her talons. Meanwhile, Ares charged forward flaming once more at Satori.

Satori slid back from the fiery attack. Walpurgis assessed the situation with practiced calm.
"Gangrel, keep it up. Satori, swagger on the torchic."
Gangrel continued to fortify his defense. Satori started prancing around mockingly.

Ares was still unscathed, something that did not feel right in a battle. He was much more used to his master's usual tactic of going for the opponent's throat right out of the gait. This was strange, he did not like it. Hestia was also unhappy as somehow the cat's prancing had made her head spin and it would be hard to attack.
Best to wait out that and used Hone Claws again, but the Torment was still there..."Get it together Hestia; use Rock Smash, but take down some of the Rattata's defense defense."
Hestia's vision was swirling, but she attempted to leap forward at Gangrel and lower his high defense with a Rock Smash. Ares continued his Flare Blitz by coating himself in fire and dashing at the Liepard.

Gangrel bundled up once more, relishing the thought of tearing into his opponent soon enough. Satori's claws were engulfed in shadows, an she swung her paw downward, unleashing the shadows into a swirling ball at the vulpix.

The vulpix growled again as he was engulfed in swirling shadows that lowered his defense. No matter, he still had plenty of energy. Hestia, however full of energy, was still having trouble seeing straight and completely missed with her last attack, stumbling over her own talons and doing damage on herself.
Clyde was not happy with Hestia's performance, she should be able to do better under confusion. "Ares, Psych Up on the Rattata, Hestia, Hone Claws...If you can manage it," He sneered.
Ares focused on the Rattata for several moments, feeling the defensive strength he had acquired, and copied it for himself. Hestia was still out of balance, but attempted to focus dark energy in to her talons.
((I'm guessing the HP bonus attack doesn't transfer during battles, since it's a permanent thing? /not 100% sure ))

The rattata dove into the ground as Satori blasted a shadowball at the torchic. Gangrel burst up from below the torchic.

Hestia was hit by the attack from the ground first and launched into the air to be hit by the Shadow Ball. That was quite a hit! She had lost a lot of energy but she was still in this! Ares meanwhile wished he could have done something to help his team mate. They weren't exactly friends but they needed to work together to win.
"Flare Blitz and Rock Smash on the Liepard!" Clyde yelled. They needed to take him down first before they could focus on the Rattata.
Ares rocketed forward in a literal blaze while Hestia, who now regained control of herself, darted forward as well at the Liepard.

Gangrel dove into the ground once more as Satori pranced around mockingly. The rattata barreled out of the ground beneath the torchic.

Hestia was plowed in to from under ground again, not as bad as last time, but she was still losing a lot of energy. Ares faired much better as Satori's Swagger attempt failed, and the Vulpix growled at her in annoyance.
"Continue attacking the Liepard, we want her down for sure," He commanded
Hestia and Ares lept in to action to take down the Liepard together.

Walpurgis recalled Satori. "Alright, Gangrel! Dig on the torchic, now!"
Gangrel dove underground. He knew Satori would be fine - if the need arose, Walpurgis would take care of her himself.

Hestia was thrown into the air once more by the powerful dig attack. This time she did not get up when the dust settled. Ares let out a whine for his fallen comrade. They managed to take down the Liepard together, but could he handle the Rattata on his own? Clyde's frown deepened as he reluctantly returned Hestia. She didn't desirve the safely of her pokeball right now but if he didn't return her he knew the other trainer would look at him as irresponsible. Peh.
"Flare Blitz, aim to burn," Clyde growled. With their raised defense, the Rattata would have a hard time hitting Ares, but at the same time Ares had the same problem before him.
Ares set his body ablaze and charged forward once more.
