"My mother is what you'd call a con artist, they aren't really Love potions at all, she just sells them like that to make a profit using crushing certain plants to give them color" she explained "That's why my brother left, he likes finding out how things work, practical science." It wasn't dangerous per-say, the potions always had some affect on your mind like they fogged it up or something she hadn't tried one to find out how it felt it certainly did something though. Her and her brother were born because of her mother leaving one out undyed. Hopefully he understood a bit better.
Mairin gave a nod glancing toward the light that trickled into the passage. Yuko then mentioned his mother, Mairin having met her briefly quite liked her she wondered if he had any siblings and what is father was like "What's your family like?"
The mare gave a sweet smile "Oh Really? I can survive just fine." Mairin giggled moving her lantern on top of a sturdy rock. Only to Find Yuko had come closer, Mairin stared right back at him. before he asked his question, breaking eye contact to think in her own mind.
Thinking for a moment Mairin answered "A long time, Since I was able, I had to if I wanted to see my brother he's got a cave up in the mountains. I also wanted to meet my mother, I suppose that's where it started," she grinned "Traveling was so much fun and I met so many others!"

Yuko chuckled and his smile blossomed a bit more as he looked at her. She was quite optimistic and perhaps that’s why in a way he was fond of her, possibly even jealous. Apart of himself wished that he could venture off and start his own adventure, but everything outside of his herd well…bored him. He wasn’t always like this. His mother when he was just a foal would tell whimsical, brave stories of knights and noble Stars that would overwhelm his mind. He just like them wanted to make his own adventures and take a long, very long journey to meet friends and possibly enemies. But then Yuko grew up into a stubborn ‘ol male. He didn’t want to do any sort of adventures. He only wanted to loaf around with his family close by. “My family…” he started to say, glancing up at one of the crevices upon the cave’s ceiling. The sky was now fading into pink with the sun setting in the distance. Clouds drifted overhead a light draft could be felt which made him shiver a bit. The nights seemed so colder nowadays. “What’s there to tell?” he huffed. “Typical family herd I suppose. Consists of my Mother, my Father, and I have a brother. We’re all pretty boring. Though I remember my Mother telling me stories of when her and my Father met, the journeys they took, and blah blah blah. Not sure if what happened actually had…I’m guessing they were just bedtime stories to put me to sleep,” he snorted. “I have to ask…Why would you want to visit your Mother. She sounds completely daft. And whereabouts does your brother reside? These mountains are like a maze—or so that’s’ what my Mother has said. Perhaps only my second time venturing this far away, even then I didn’t stay long.” “I only ask because it’s getting late and…well…you should just stay here until morning. Don’t need something to happen to you. Quite frankly I’m scared of your Mother,” he chuckled again.

He didn't seem to have a good relationship with his family it seemed like, he didn't want to be near them. "You should tell me some!" she grinned she loved tales of adventure as much as the next mare or stallion regardless if they were made up or not. Maybe too it wound remind him about good memories of his family. She wondered if he missed them?
The mare wasn't so sure, "I've herd some stars come from strange places, some of them not from this world, maybe it's the same for your parents." the mare glanced up at the small crevices in the ceiling, she'd herd tales of the falling of many. Mairin always loved the tales her herd bard Aquila brought back for the herd, so many different stories, she'd even given her some of her own to share with those so far away.
Mairin simply smiled "Because she is my mother, that's what family no matter how daft you may think your family is." her gaze focused back on Yuko.
"Not this range of mountains," she explained "His cave is decently sized, however it doesn't lead into the mountain itself." she gave him an innocently sweet smiled "Staying around late doesn't bother me, I've traveled at night too." it was nice though he was concerned she gave him a wide grin, he'd acted at first like she was a big bother. Mairin laughed a bit at the joke, "It won't be her you'd have to deal with if something happened it would be my father." she joked back, he was a brave knight her father. She did miss him often when she was away. Her lantern flickering in the darkness.

Yuko chuckled and nodded his head as he gazed up at the crevices on the cavern’s ceilings. A couple little critters could be heard running about as their tiny paws made scrape noises against the stone. “You want to hear some stories, eh?” he blinked, some debree of leaves and twigs falling down from one of the holes. “You do realize that they were probably just bedtime stories to put myself and my brother to sleep at night. They were usually all the same—the storyline that is. Some hero knight saving a damsel in distress from a wicked something or another,” he paused and looked to the young mare. “Though every time I heard the stories no matter that they were all the same…it was like hearing something different if that makes any sense.” As Yuko spoke to Mairin about his Mother a faint smile would begin blossoming on his lips. “She always did tell the best stories. It would be interesting to know that they are real,” he said. He stepped forwards underneath one of the crevices. The sun was setting which meant as soon as the moon rose up, than he could show her the surprise. Hopefully she would like it otherwise this trip and this chit-chat would be for nothing. A chuckle escaped from his vocals. “My family is pretty daft. You’d have to meet them to actually understand. But they’re good and they all mean well,” he smiled. “So,” he paused with a cocked eyebrow. “Your Father is the brute of the family? Don’t tell me he’ll be throwing potions at me or something…He’s not a witch too, or whatever you call male witches…” he asked. Yuko couldn’t actual imagine anyone aside from her crazed Mother, that anyone would actually be overly mean and aggressive. Mairin seemed pretty much neutral. She wasn’t all that insane considering that she basically though magic is real. She’s bubbly and full of energy, Yuko thought to himself as he looked at her. Nothing wrong with that considering Mother is just the same, he said again to himself. If Yuko was to bring Mairin home right now than his Mother would without a doubt taking a liking to her. Idea. Great, glorious idea! If Yuko was to bring Mairin home to his parents than maybe they would stop getting on his back. Bring this young mare saying that he met a new friend…Mother would be overwhelmed and what to spend time with Mairin, getting to know her that she’d be too busy to even nag on her son. Excellent. Then he could lounge and do what he does best…nothing. “Ahem,” he cleared his voice. “How about I help you to your brother’s cave?” he asked her. Suave. Play it smooth, he reminded himself. “It’s the least I can do to help you out,” he smiled reassuringly. “In the morning we’ll leave to your brother’s cavern and see your Mother.”

Mairin closed her deep blue eyes and listened above, she could hear the rocks shifting above as she waited in silence for a moment "Owch," she whispered as some of the small stones from above fell on her head, She whipped her hat back atop her head offering some protection, she peaked her eyes back open "I met your mother briefly remember, she was sweet." Mairin smiled she didn't seem daft at all "I bet they are true." Always the optimist she was though she'd still like to hear a story.
"He's not a brute my father is a knight." he explained "Warlock is the correct term." adding too the correct term for male witches.
Mairin began to giggle, and then laugh at the very thought of someone other than herself trying to help her brother. He didn't like anyone touching anything not even her "I don't think he'd appreciate that as kind as an offer as it may be he's very particular about his stuff." but then she paused breathing, "hmmm," Would mother like a visit? probably not.
"It's a long journey." She explained, not a quick stop round the corner she often spend a long time traveling back and forth between her herd and her brother's cave "My brother lives rather out of the way of most." She'd also just met the stallion as nice as it was for him to worry about her family... she smiled. "You don't have to worry to much about my family, thank you." she wondered what he was thinking all of a sudden deciding he wanted to see her family. It was a bit strange though she didn't mind thinking it rather cute.

“How come your brother lives so far away from your herd?” he asked quite curious to know. It’s always been Yuko and his family no matter what. He was born with the protection of his Mother and Father, plus is brother. He couldn’t think of what it would be like if his parents did split. Of course his brother was off on his own journey, but he still made time to see the good ‘ol family every now and then. He chuckled and nodded his head. “Fair enough,” he said even though honestly he did want to meet her brother. “If you’re sure, but it honestly wouldn’t be out of the way. At least let me get you there and then I’ll be on my way. It’s almost winter here and the nights are quite cold,” he said. “Although you do have those ‘magical’ rocks,” he grinned. The young stallion again looked up at the crevices. He was pretty sure the sun was already setting behind the mountains even though he wasn’t witnessing the sunset. Shame though as he was fond of the last rays of sunlight before darkness fell across the lands. There was always something so magical about the last beams of the sun. “Any time now,” he reassured Mairin with a soft smile. “And then we’ll see if those pebbles or anything else in your bag can be compared with what’s about to be seen,” he said almost in a challenging tone.

"Well he was raised outside the herd, he's not the social type either but that's why I visit." she grinned before pondering again after a thought "I suppose we could still meet my brother if your really interested." It was funny, Mairin's Parents were never together but she still always made sure to visit, they were both very important to her. Father said the most important thing was family all the time even if they weren't the 'perfect' family. But that made things special. She'd learned a lot from her mother even if she didn't agree with the methods like her brother.
Magical rocks in deed, Mairin couldn't help but laugh, yeah she could start a fire with her 'magic rocks.' Mairin Curled her tail around her it was unsurprisingly getting a little colder as the sun went down as the heat escaped from the roof of the crevice. At least her back was warm from the saddle bag and her head the hat.
Mairin watched the sky eagerly, quickly becoming more curious as to what it was running various things through her mind that could only bee seen through moonlight. Had she seen something like this before she wondered.
She smiled back "I can't wait!" she started glancing around "where should I look?" she asked.

Of course Yuko wasn’t entirely interested in meeting Mairin’s brother or even her Mother. He felt a yearning—compelled to get to know this mare better. How odd, he snorted as he gazed at her. She was completely daft believing in magic but he couldn’t help it but feel fond of her youthful optimism. The young male exhaled quite loudly and lowered his head as he rested against the cavern’s wall. He glanced up at the rocky crevices of the ceiling to see the sky darkening. “Ready?” he pushed himself off a bit with a smirk. His eyes lowered as he began to move a couple pieces of fallen rock underneath the crevices. There didn’t seem to be anything magical or even mysterious about the stones but he kept collecting them into a small pile. “Just watch,” he breathed and stepped to the side. The sunlight was fading behind the mountains. The last rays of sunlight which Yuko believed to be the richest began to descend and for a moment, as if on cue crept their way down the cavern’s ceiling. The beautiful sunlight beamed down onto the collected rocks and glimmered. The dull, boring rocks now glowed different beautiful colors and sparkled of twilight. “My Mother taught me that trick. Now how’s that for magic?” Yuko chuckled as he looked to Mairin and then to the rocks. “Something so ordinary and boring that can turn into something beautiful...” his voice trailed out as he thought to himself out loud with a faint smile.
