Danny's face lit up like the Halloween equivalent of the fourth of July. It was also a bit worried though. Danny had had no idea that she was psychic. What was she supposed to do with this newfound ability?
Stretching one more time, she finally hopped out of bed and started leafing through her closet for something to wear. It wouldn't be a very big change from what she was wearing now, honestly, just a jacket maybe. It was time for her morning run!
"Y'wanna go running with me?" she said happily, not really realizing that Amphi might've still been weak. She blinked a few times. She forgot something! "Oh! But we gotta have breakfast first ..." Sometimes running just made her so excited she forgot everything else.

Amphi had no idea how Danny did it. It was amazing! And it made her whole no voice situation so much BETTER. She could get through the days if Danny was there with her, reading her mind and saying all the things that Amphi didn't even know she wanted to say!!
She tilted her head at the idea of running and then sent a thought about how maybe they should walk. Amphi could handle walking.
Oh but then Danny picked up the idea of food. FOOD SOUNDED GOOD.
She nodded her head again and bounced off the bed and clapped her hands. Breakfast sounded amazing.
She was so happy to be Danny's friend who read her mind!

She went to her kitchen and pulled out a few bowls that were probably meant for children, placing them on the table. Danny didn't care. She liked the fun colors and figures, so damn straight she was going to have kiddie bowls. That, and she didn't really know they were meant for children.
Awkwardly, she started leafing through her cabinets, distinctly avoiding the one that was placed over her sink. She didn't really have time (let alone the knowledge) to make a five course meal, but she at least got some cereal on the table- Captain Crush of course! Poor Amphi would have to make do without milk.
Then she pulled out a pan and some bacon strips from her fridge and combined the two (wow fancy). Normally she would've just burnt the whole package straight to a crisp, but with Amphi over she had to be nice. She set her hand on fire and then held it under the pan, just waiting.
"You can get cereal I guess while it cooks ..." she offered. "I don't have milk or whatever. Roch always wants milk ... he's so dumb."

Amphi sat at the table and was fascinated by the colorful bowls. SO cute! and perfect size for the small little mermaid.
Taking a spoon, she waited as the cereal was dispersed.

And then watched in fascination as Danny cooked the bacon...with her hand.
Cool...so cool.

Danny actually turned a little red around the cheeks and stopped cooking the bacon. "Wh-Why are you looking at me like that!" she asked, clearly embarrassed. Was her cooking etiquette off? Was she doing it wrong?
"Look I'm not good at cooking, okay?" she said huffily, setting the pan down on the rarely-used stove. "I dunno how to do it without burning stuff!"
Well, to be fair, she never HAD to. Growing up she'd had countless servants making her food, and if she ever went to make snacks for herself they'd just end up in balls of char, because burnt crisps tasted pretty dang good. Cooking for other people was just out of the question.

Amphi giggled again, watching in surprise that her friend was actually blushing.
Blushing. So cute!! Her friend was the cutest. SO CUTE DANNY.
Amphi shook her head no and just stared longer.

Danny didn't know what to do with that face. "S-Stop it!" she protested, picking up the pan again. She grabbed the bacon with her hand and toasted all of it, throwing the remains of what used to be bacon into her mouth.
"VER SFEE," she said in between bites as she tried to swallow it, "ALL MAHN NOWF." This was not attractive.
She wiped her mouth with the back of her hand and then held the frying pan out to Amphi like a weapon. "Vfat's wot fyew got!" She swallowed, finished off the food. "Only cereal for you now!"
REVENGEEEE.
She sat down at the table and picked at a piece of cereal. Something more serious crossed her face and she quietly said, "So you're okay ... with all the stuff ..."

Oh..Oh that was mean Danny. Amphi's face instantly changed from sparkles to sadness.

She poked at her milkless cereal and blinked, distracted by the question.
She opened her mouth to say no, and sighed. Still no voice and shook her head with a yes nod. She had to be fine with all the stuff didn't she? She didn't really have a choice.

"Nuh uh," Danny said, setting the pan down and moving towards Amphi. "That's a sad face. Sad faces are NOT okay!"
She moved behind Amphi and put her hands on the back of the chair. "I'm not good at this kind of stuff ... I don't really know how to make you feel better." Her hands wrapped around Amphi and she hugged the ghoul in the chair from behind. "But um ... feel better, okay? Me and Roch aren't goin' anywhere."
She let go of the mermaid and put her hand on her chin. "'Least I don't think we're going anywhere. Maybe we are. I dunno!" She smiled happily and grabbed Amphi's hand. "Eat fast and we'll go out, okay?" She had plans.

Amphi was still...
Q n Q facing Danny, even if it was different reason then the fire demon thought. She leaned back to look up at the ghoul instead and her frown turned into a smile instantly, especially when Danny was trying so hard!
She cooed silently at the hug and then bounced up and down. She took her spoon and ate all her cereal, inhaling it and then rolling off the chair.
SHE WANTED TO GO PLACES!!

Danny smiled and put an arm around the ghoul's shoulder, walking her away from the kitchen, but not towards the door. Instead towards the window.
"C'mon I wanna show you something," she said happily, letting go of Amphi to unlatched the window and push the black, broken shutters out. "I'll help you up!"

Amphi briefly wondered why they were going from the Kitchen to the window instead of going to the door. She turned her head a little and then blinked as she was urged to what....
She shook her head, she couldn't climb out of a window!?!?
Could she...?

She saw Amphi was a little hesitant and said, "C'mon, I do it all the time. You can go up first so I can catch you if you fall!" This probably wasn't the smartest idea, considering if Amphi fell, they would BOTH fall. Not that Danny minded being squished. Just so long as Amphi was safe- Roch would kill her if Amphi was hurt!
It was fortunate that her goal was just the roof, and thanks to Danny's location it was a short shuffle to a ledge, another window, and then onto the roof. Amphi should've been okay, especially since Danny was helping her.
"Or I can go first if y'want. Either way!"

Well when Danny put it that way. The mermaid clambered out of the window and onto the ledge, not looking down. She did excatly what she thought was right, shuffling over and then waited for Danny to appear.
She pointed at the end and send the mental question to her Psychic friend.
'Where do I go?'

Danny hefted herself up the window sill, like doing pull ups on the bar in gym class. She clambered her knees up until she was leaning on the very tippy edge. She looked over to her right and her eyes narrowed. Some might've been scared by the heights, but at this point Danny was used to it. Falling ... it didn't really register in her mind. Some might call her fearless, but it was mostly reckless.
Then she leapt, wings extended at just the right moment to grab the ledge with her hands. She pulled her self up and then maneuvered around until she was facing Amphi, arms extended to help pull the ghoul up. Amphi wouldn't have to leap, just climb up Danny.
"Only a little farther, promise!" she encouraged. If Roch saw what she was doing with poor Amphi, she'd probably be dead. "After this you just gotta pull up to the edge ... I'll help you!" She smiled really big and said, "There's a SURPRISE up there."
