Surprise - how he felt was completely irrelevant !
Nothing new there, really. Still, even Elik realized when he was about to say things he might later regret. So at first, he said nothing.
"Fine. I'll humor you." He crossed his arms. One hour. The worst ******** hour of his life probably, and if Whisteria magically forgot that she said she would leave him alone if he did this, then she would not like what he would have to say, and he would not hold himself back, company be damned.
"BUT. I want you to apologize to Adi for getting her involved in something that did not concern her. Be pissed all you want at me, Whisteria. Scream at me all you'd like. I can deal with that. What I will not deal with is you getting her involved when she had no need to be." His aunt had to realize how wrong this was, right ? Adi was there so he would be backed in a corner, and they both knew it.
Elik hoped it was the hormones ******** with her system. He really hoped it was the hormones ******** with her system. If it was not... He was not sure if he could forgive her for using Adi against him like that.
"....Im sorry you had to see that, Adi." He would not apologize for how he felt, but he could apologize that she'd gotten dragged in this mess.

Adi had, honestly, been completely okay with being involved in this. She liked Xun, and she loved Elik, and she wanted them both to be happy. So when Elik got mad at Whisteria for bringing her, she didn't quite understand what exactly the problem was. She was also...not very used to dealing with upset people.
The werewolf even backed away a little, clutching at her tail, and sniffed. "Please don't be mad! I wanted to come, because she's right, and you need to see him. It's not just Xun in there, and you need to understand that before you hate him. I know it's weird, and I know it's not the same, but it- but you need to give him a chance. You need to give her a chance."

"I told her what I was going to do before I asked for her help in finding you, Elik. I could have found you myself but it probably would have taken a lot longer. I gave her a choice and she chose to help." Whisteria was very grateful for the werewolf's help. At least around Adi her nephew seemed to rein in his stubborn temper a bit.

Of course.
And indeed, Adi's presence was key - because the logical continuation of events would have been a much, much different one if she had not been around and sniffing.
"Fine then. Get it over with."
If they expected him to like this, through, they had another thing coming.

Adi was glad that he finally agreed to go, but she wasn't feeling particularly good about it now. Why couldn't things just be simple, and people not get so...so unhappy? It took a considerable effort to perk her ears up and smile a little. "Do you want me to go with you?"

"Come on then." Whisteria would walk with him to Xun's door after that it was up to the Dragon King to take care of things. Whether Adi went with him however, was entirely Elik's choice.

"I..." Really, was it a good idea ? Well, no, the whole thing wasn't right as far as he was concerned, but did he want her to be there, in the probably inevitable outcome that he and the dragon butted heads ?
But he had to admit... The both of them had said the exact same thing. Whisteria had known Illisia for millenias. It was... disturbing on one hand, but sobering on the other. "...If you want to come, I won't stop you, Adi." He sighed.

Releasing her hold on her tail, Adi sidled closer again and reached for Elik's hand to squeeze. "It's up to you. What would you like better?"

The druidess waited patiently for them to decide. She would like to think that the hard part was over, maybe for her it was but Xun was going to have an even harder time. The best she could do was hope that the two of them would get things sorted out between them.

He squeezed her hand back, and... As much as he hated to admit it, he was glad that she was here.
Elik just figured that this was going to be one of those days where he just couldn't win.
"I'd... like you to come, then." Who knew, maybe she'd keep him from doing anything too stupid. Like, you know, provoking a god.
