Incorrect. The bible might not say anything about homosexuality but every true Christian knows God is against homosexuality because we know the story of God's first two creations Adam and Eve. His first two creations were of the opposite sex! A Male and Female. He first created created Adam and saw that he was lonely so he decided to create a "mate" a women to comfort him. He never created two men or two women he created 1 man for 1 women! and that's what God wants each of us to follow. You can believe me or not but this is 100% fact.

It doesn't say in the bible, "Don't be gay"
But it does say "Dont lay with another man"
And yes the bible talks about homosexuality.

You can believe it if you want but my family's belief is anti-homosexuality because it's abnormal. When they die they will get a severe punishment from God. smile
gonk That is awful you are just a sick person with no heart! That comment disgusts me!

You disgust me with your comments. The truth is very real and it might not sound good to an uneducated person like yourself. Good bye immature girl

I don't think God cares who you ******** can't be any more wrong than fornication, which anyone in this topic would gladly perform if given the chance.

You're all a bunch of termite-ridden hypocrites.

Sincerely,
A well-studied ex-Catholic (Meaning don't argue with me on this)

P.S. The Bible has been interpreted to be against homosexuality, sorry. It's one of the reasons why I threw my copy in the trashcan.

I support gay marriage, so let that be the first thing.

However, Leviticus 20:13 states "If a man lies with a man as one lies with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They must be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads."

Sooooo yeah it says that...

The way I look at the Bible saying that in Leviticus is the same way we look at the constitution today. There is debate on whether or not our constitution can be interpreted into today’s society or should be used verbatim. We all know if it not used verbatim in a lot of cases due to the fact that the society we live in today is very different from when our founding fathers first wrote the constitution. Therefore there is some semblance of leniency when it comes to following it. Things in the constitution are stretched and used in ways our founding fathers never imagined. And this is what I keep in mind when I take into account homosexuality and the Bible. Honestly I do not see how God can hate anyone, homosexual or not. Times have changed and I honestly believe that we have no right to look down upon others for expressing feelings beyond their immediate control. And we certainly have no right to tell someone they cannot love the person they love. I believe the real reason this is such an outrage is because marriage has always been held to a religious standard in the past and now a large group's view contradict the Bible AND want to get married in the churches. So it's kind of an intrusion.
If you actually analyze the quote you posted carefully you will notice that the Bible condemns the act of one man lying down next to each other not the men themselves. So technically your quote condemns homosexuality but not homosexuals themselves. Tricky, huh? PLUS when the Bible was written "homosexual" could be interpreted as "male prostitution".
I am not gay but I have gay friends and I know that they are people just like us who deserve the same rights as us.
That's all (:
P.S. I liked the previous vegan analogy.

You can't look at gods word like america looks at the constitution yes we may debate about circumstances and thing like that with the constitution but the bible is gods word and is law over all laws noone has in any way a way to get around what god says so in response yes it says homosexuality is against his word no if ands or buts you do not make exceptions for anything god says

I know two gay guys who are catholic and are republicans XD

My thoughts on the whole religion thing is that you can believe in God and be gay. However marriage was created in religion as a joining of a man and a woman. So I do not believe gay marriage should be allowed in the religious sense however if they want civil unions I don't see anything wrong with that. Also I would like to add that it's up to the state's constitutional right to decide marriage laws NOT the federal government.

My thoughts about our future for this country right now shouldn't lie in social issues. Right now I believe social issues are the least of our problems. We need to do what's best for our economy right now and I do not believe Obama's policies will help us with that.

I totally agree with this. Many times in the Old Testament, it said that people should be put to death for certain things, however, this didn't apply in the New Testament because the times had changed.

Maybe until Constantine made Christianity the religion of the Byzantium Empire, turning Christianity into a political force, which he then could manipulate however he wanted.
Hence the possibility that the anti-homosexual texts in the Bible are not the actual word of God.
I'm a practicing Christian and all, but history speaks for itself.

Agree agree agree. I wouldn't identify as gay, but I currently have a girlfriend of 2 years. I'm a classical liberal, conservative, Republican, and she's not into Politics, but regardless.
Government needs to keep its mitts off of marriage.
Agreed with the social issues. I'm taking a sociology class currently on Elite Deviance and it's only furthered my belief that social issues are a result of economic issues.
