Amun obediently began moving at her gentle nudge, relaxing muscles he hadn't realized were tense when she said she was getting better. He lightly pressed his nose to Esha's cheek at her question, amber eyes glittering softly like their owner once had. "You should decide," he replied. They'd been wandering by Amun's schedule since his arrival, after all. It was about time that she got to choose the next set of events.

"I'm pretty exhausted.. but looking at the light still makes my eyes and head ache. I think we should wait until that passes, since I probably won't be able to sleep before then.." she responded with a weak smile. She raised her amethyst eyes to look at him, still squinting a little bit from the slight pain that was left.
She appreciated his thoughtfulness, since she did realize she had maybe been a little overly accommodating with him - not that she really minded it. Nonetheless it was flattering for him to specifically want to respect her wishes this time around.

Amun smiled back. "Alright." Seeing her squint, he lifted one of his large ears to shade her eyes; after all, his paws were a little busy moving him forward.
The ex-star glanced around as he listened to the strange sounds of daytime, trying to allow his eyes to recover from their blinding experience and inspect the shaded forest. "Esha, what animal makes those chirping sounds?" he inquired. It wasn't like the crickets. It was much louder, and the sounds had more variance.

She listened for a moment to the sounds around them. She wasn't very familiar with the animals and insects that were active during daytime. All she knew was what she'd heard from others, basically.
"Um.. I think those are cicadas. Grasshoppers make a somewhat similar sound too, I guess, but I think theirs lasts a shorter time. I'm not entirely sure though.." she replied. The sound was a lot sharper and louder than crickets.. while it wasn't unpleasant, she wasn't used to it.
The morning birds sang very beautifully, however. Esha kind of wished she could see the singers, as she was sure they were incredibly colorful. "The birds have such lovely song, don't they?"

"Ah. So cicadas and grasshoppers are like daytime crickets?" At her question, Amun looked around. "The birds?" He knew what birds were. His eyes scanned the trees until he found a small, speckled bird. "They do. I've never been able to hear them before..."

The female nodded at Amun's conclusion. "That's what I've come to understand, yes."
She looked around some, too, now that they were back into the dimly lit denser vegetation of the forest. "Not many birds are active, or singing, in nighttime.. and the few that are, aren't quite as elaborate. One of the downsides to our way of life, I guess.." Esha sometimes wished the sun wasn't so painful to her. Not only would it be easier to make friends, but there would be a whole new world of color and sound to discover. The night offered its own wonders and comfort, but the little female's heart remained ever curious. Sadly it seemed her curiosity could never be truly quenched, seeing how painful even the first few rays of the morning sun were to her.
At least she wasn't alone anymore. Having Amun literally fall out of the heavens and into her life was the happiest thing to happen to her since she could remember. He was a little goofy at times, but their personalities still matched well and they both looked out for each other. At this point, he had spent enough time with her that she was quite sure nobody could guess his unusual origin. He would come across a little naive or eccentric, perhaps, but all in all he was a pretty normal Spica. Save for the fact that most gladiers still remained diurnal, of course..

"But there are plenty of upsides too," Amun replied cheerfully. He nudged Esha gently as they headed further into the darkness of the forest. "It's because of this lifestyle that I met you." He didn't know how much he was missing, staring at the world from a distance. Esha's wish was the best thing that had ever happened to him. He felt so... alive. He'd never realized how lonely the expanse of space between him and everything else was. In the sky, he'd been isolated, but here... Everything was interacting. His paws met earth, his lungs captured air, and his companion currently held his attention. Just being around the other Gladier made his heart swell.

Amun's response made Esha blush a little under her dark coat. There were still times when she wondered whether it had been right for her to wish for a companion. Whether she deserved such happiness. Nevertheless, she was incredibly happy and grateful for Amun's presence, that he'd made her wish come true. She had grown oh so incredibly fond of the former star, she even recognized the sound of his footsteps at this point.
Her previously lonesome existence had become joyous thanks to her meeting him. She couldn't imagine a life without Amun, anymore.
"You know.. I feel like I can't even express how incredibly happy I am to have you here.." she told him. "Every night I thank the heavens that you heard my wish and decided to come down here.. for me. Thank you, Amun", the female continued, turning to nuzzle her mate softly. While she was perfectly content with the way things were right now, with just the two of them together, she hoped that some time in the future they could maybe have kits of their own, as well.. little ones that they could teach together about the ways of the world. Esha was sure Amun would make a great father.

Amun's face lit up at Esha's words, though her second comment made him blush. "B-but thanking t-th' heavens means tha' allo'th' oth'r st'rs'rehearing'ou," he replied, his words jumbling together as he grew flustered. He caught his rambling and forced himself to calm down before speaking again. "I'm really happy to be here with you." He nuzzled her back. "You know... I was about to give up before I heard your wish." He was glad that he'd waited that extra minute. How miserable he'd been that night... and then that pure, heartfelt wish had come and touched his heart. It almost made him want to thank the heavens that he'd heard it.

Once again, the female couldn't help but chuckle silently when his speech sped up, with most of his vowels dropping out. He was usually quite collected, even if a bit goofy sometimes, but when he got flustered she found it rather endearing. She got used to his habits rather quick, so now she had no problems understanding him even like this.
"I'm glad you were the one that heard me.." she replied. "I'm happy that I can give you something in return, too. And the other stars should hear how happy you make me.. maybe some of them will decide to seek their own happiness down here as well", the female continued, smiling brightly. She believed that everyone had the right to look for happiness - and to find it, too. Surely some other stars felt the same way Amun did, back then. And she was certain that there were other gladiers down here, that longed for love but were somehow unable to find it through normal means.

Amun shuffled in embarrassment, but didn't argue. His demeanor brightened considerably when Esha suggested that other stars would come down from the sky. "That would be fun," he admitted. "But only if they met Gladiers as wonderful as you," he added softly. Otherwise, the stars would never really be able to appreciate this world to the fullest.
After all, without Esha he'd still be in the crater he'd made when he crash-landed.

Now it was Esha's turn to fidget embarrassedly again. "I-I'm nothing special, really.." she replied meekly. "It's not like I could just leave you there, not knowing anything about this world.."
In her mind, it could have been anybody to find Amun. She was just glad it happened to be her, since she gained such a lovely companion. She was merely lucky to have been there, because it still seemed like such a strange idea that he really would have come down just for her, because of her wish.
"A-actually, I wonder if any of your brethren have decided to come down, already.. if they have, I wonder if we'll ever get a chance to meet them."

Amun straightened at her protests. "Nonsense," he objected. "You're very special." Not any Gladier could get him to come down from the sky. In fact, he doubted any besides Esha could have. Her unique circumstances and her pure, heartfelt wish had drawn him to her; she was one of a kind, and he couldn't picture himself with anyone else.
It was amazing to him how easy it was to adore this shy female. Everything about her just made him smile.
"It's possible." He nodded to her last comment. "I wouldn't be surprised if we did." He thought for a moment before adding, "Or their children." He smiled. "Not everyone wishes for love. Some wish for children."

Esha playfully thwapped Amun's leg with her paw in her embarrassment. "You give me too much credit.. but I'm still glad you feel that way." She had never grown used to compliments - not like she'd been able to talk with anyone like this before. Amun was so sweet and kind, and occasionally a bit goofy in such an endearing way, she felt she could never get tired of his company. Not a single day - or night, in their case - with him had been boring thus far.
"I wonder how star children would look.. I'd really like to meet some of them, some day", she nodded. She wanted to see what other stars were like in comparison to Amun. "And.. if we eventually get a family of our own.. I wonder how our kits will be", she added embarrassedly. She wasn't sure if she was ready for children just yet, but it was a thought that kept coming back to her. She would like some eventually.. but how do you know when the right time comes?

Amun chuckled in amusment, nuzzling his muzzle against her neck. "I only give credit where credit is due," he replied smoothly.
He straightened when she spoke again, paying close attention to her words. His expression softened. "When," he corrected. "And when that time comes..." He gave her that bright, regal, charismatic smile of his. "I'm sure they'll be wonderful." With a sparkle in his eye, he added, "Just like their mother."
