"It's a gryphon backpack, Fritz. It's like those character backpacks you see in anime conventions. And thank you! Grandmother had it hiding in a closet. Apparently it was supposed to be some sort of gift my mother didn't allow to be given." The young woman shrugged her shoulders under his arm. She glanced at Serenade and smiled. Her shoulders fluffed on instinct and she followed Fritz to the young woman.
And then, in Mary fashion, she hugged the woman from the side, nuzzled her cheek in greeting and pulled back. "A pleasure Princess Serenade!" Someone had turned the cheerfulness level up on Mary today, but perhaps that was because she was in a group of people, and not dwelling on her rather... screwed up home life at the moment.
Or getting attacked by a certain moth senshi.

"<******** yes, cookies," Ricky exclaimed, briefly and undeliberately sounding like the Cookie Monster if only for the briefest of moments as he snatched the bag of cookies from the princess's hands. He reached in and shoved a joyfully cookie in his mouth, his face radiating with delight. His mouth full of cookie he mumbled almost unintelligibly, "Sorry fer swearin', but I ********' love you Princess."
Pretty, a princess, and she baked cookies? The boy wanted to put a ring on it right there and then!
"Hey Holi," he said and smiled, cookie all over his face and still in his mouth. "Welcome to the party!"

"I brought some chocolates and stuff...." Holi reiterated, with an expression on her face that was a blend of fascinated and horrified. "...Please don't choke." She added. Many of them had already been dead once, she wasn't sure that fate would be quite so kind to them again.
She glanced around at the place again, and added in a tone she hoped was convincing. "You have a nice place? It's... a nice party. It's a good idea."
Oh ******** on a stick. She sounded like Fluttershy. This was ridiculous. She was not the Fluttershy type. Also she had clearly spent far too much time browsing youtube and watching things if she was starting to compare herself to a vaguely anthropomorphic yellow and pink pony. The party was a good idea though, now that she thought about it. Even if it was in a neatnicks nightmare.
"How's everyone been?"

Bo was probably one of the people in the Zodiac Court most likely to appreciate Ricky's method of inviting everyone out to a party. He might also be one to most appreciate a party, any party really. So when Ricky invited them out, Bo had done the only thing that helped him actually make it anywhere without forgetting: he put an alarm in his phone.
When Bo arrived -- late, no surprise -- he was delighted to find the door open. "How welcoming," he said to himself, leaping over the threshold with particular gusto. "Greetings, friends of centuries past!" he announced, grinning from ear to ear. Neso was not as up-to-date on interactions with some of the knights, but he had heard Chronos talk about them enough to recognize names. In any case, any member of the Zodiac Court was officially one of his best friends.
For his own contribution, Bo had brought a Gatorade container full of rum punch -- Bacardi 151, specifically -- and was ready to get drunk with his favorite people in the universe.
His first stop was at Serenade's side, giving her a backwards hug before scooting off to the kitchen. He liked the shabbiness of Ricky's place. It was comforting. Dropping the Gatorade container on a clear spot of counter, Bo produced a plastic cup from his pocket -- apparently he only brought one -- and poured himself a glass. Despite the excitement of all the people, Bo allowed himself a few minutes of quiet drinking before he burst onto the scene in full social butterfly mode.

She was patted once more and addressed. Which was weird and a little scary.. but not quite as off putting as she might have worried. In her regular life most people were happy to let her hide in the background and seemingly.. completely ignore her unless they needed something. So while being put in the spotlight was a little scary.. the reasoning behind it was entirely new and the feeling it brought forth was well.. kind of fantastic. It still didn't amount to many words in the end, but there was a tiny and genuine smile that touched her at Fritz's touch and Ricky's words of reassurance.
The room was slowly filling and she found herself watching some of the interactions going on. She admired the princess for a moment, before her eyes moved to some of the more exhuberent guests.
Another girl entered, sounding almost as uncertain to her, and Menthe studied the girl with ice blue hair curiously. It was the words 'chocolate' and the cautious 'please don't choke' that drew the girl with minty hair across the distance between them, pausing for a long moment before she spoke. "What.. kind of chocolate is it?"

Oh thank god, someone interested in the chocolate. That was slightly less awkward than talking to a grown man with a mouth full of cookie as though he were three.
"Truffles mostly." She admitted. "Shaped like mice." She looked for someplace to put the bags, then gave up and put them on the floor, stooping to fish out the crammed full box of chocolate mice, which admittedly were slightly less perfectly shaped now than they had been.
She looked a bit guilty about that as she held up the box in offering, having forced them into tight quarters. Opened, the lid of the box revealed mostly neat rows of little chocolate mice with colored whiskers and eyes, Holi's way of making sure she could identify the flavor of truffle they represented. "I think there's mint, strawberry, white chocolate and dark chocolate. The color of the detailing should tell you which one's you're looking at. I made some that were white chocolate outside with strawberry inside, and they were cute... but I didn't think they came out so well so I kind of didn't pack any..."
....Which sort of made describing them pointless didn't it? Smooth one, Holi Jones. Very smooth.
"Maybe another time." She promised. "Or I can take requests, if we do this again."
She resisted the urge to suggest the other woman try one of the mint-mice, a suggestion she had to admit was partially triggered by the other woman's softly green hair.
"Try one." She suggested. "Try a couple, I make them all the time."

Having downed the first glass of rum punch, Bo poured another for himself and then scooted back out to the room where everyone else was. "Greetings," he said, patting a few people on the shoulder as he passed. Like Menthe, the mention of chocolate had attracted the oversized handmaiden. He headed in her and Holi's direction.
"Mice on the floor? This makes sense," he said, stooping to pick up one of the dark chocolate ones. In Bo's eyes, all food was always being offered to him. "Hello, friends." This was perhaps his way of avoiding the fact that he was not necessarily 100% familiar with everyone's civilian identity.
He took a messy bite of a mouse. "These are amazing. You made them?" he said, though it was unclear if he was talking to Menthe or Holi.

"I did." Holi acknowledged, trying to be subtle when she let her eyes wander up the tall, blond, drink of water. She also wasn't entirely clear who was who between powered and unpowered, but then he was easy on the eyes, so she was having a bit more trouble holding a grudge about that under the circumstances. Maybe a bit shallow, but guys were allowed to look so she could too.
"My father introduced me to the idea. Well... sort of inadvertently." She explained. "...I want to try and open a chocolate shop someday. Right now I just make them for gifts, or to unwind."
She forced a smile she hoped didn't look completely stupid. It probably looked, she was sure, completely stupid.

If Bo noticed Holi staring, he did not let on. He liked the company of females. He was totally cool with them looking at him. Bo was pretty much cool with just about anything. Besides, these were Zodiacs here. He was more open with them than he was with anyone -- and that was certainly saying something.
"Doing things just to unwind is the best," he said, snatching up another mouse and chewing happily. He may or may not have been talking with his mouth open just a little bit. "I take photos of cool things and make photo collages, hang out with people, surf, go hiking, you know -- unwinding stuff. Civilian name is Bo." He touched his heart. "Neso in here." In truth, he was Chronos in there, but c'est la vie.
"If you do open a chocolate shop, I will be first in line though." It was true... if he actually remembered it. Bo had a habit of making promises and then forgetting that he made them.

A smile and a wave of hello was directed towards Holi before Serenade got distracted by Mary, wrapping an arm around her waist to return the hug. "Hello, Mary!"
The green-haired girl couldn't help but giggle at Ricky's reaction to the cookies, a small blush crossing her cheeks. "Thank you, Ricky! I'm glad that you like them!" There had been a moment that while waiting for it to bake, she had ran off to practice for a bit, and then started worrying that they would get burnt.
Thankfully, they had been alright! Her eyes lit up as Bo announced his presence, and joined him and Menthe to admire the chocolate mice. "They're really cute!" Serenade said warmly to Holi, reaching out to take a mint one. "Maybe you could teach me how to make some?"

"I would love to give people lessons." She beamed, lighting up over a subject she was enthusiastic about.
"Holiday... but I usually tell people to call me Holi. Or uh... Hara Berezaiti I guess."
The part of her that was a knight wanted to sympathize with Bo saying he was Neso in his heart, referring to Bo as a 'civilian' name, like it was some kind of disguise, but she wasn't sure she was quite that certain of her new dual self yet to say that "Hara" might be more real than "Holi".
"Those sound like fun hobbies." She added, for Bo's benefit. "Never tried most of them though. I try and sew sometimes but I'm apparently a really awful tailor."

Menthe listened with soft interest as Holi explained the little treats, eyeing the little faux mice curiously. The flavors all sounded delicious really, and the tiny details on them were beautiful, even if they'd gotten a little jostled. She debated for along moment before reaching to grab one of the white chocolate ones.
"That sounds nice." She offered towards Holi's mention of a white chocolate and strawberry mixture that hadn't made it along, before taking a bite, savoring it slowly. It was getting crowded again, but as those around her began to chatter about chocolate and hobbies Menthe let herself simply enjoy the flavors and the differences in texture between the outer shell and the sweet interior of the truffle. It was the reason she often took an hour or longer to eat when she was out at a resteraunt despite being totally alone. Food really was a magical thing.
The idea of a chocolate shop was intruiging, and the mint haired secretary would definately be a regular visitor if said shop ever came into exsistance. Reaching down to steal another one of the mice, mint this time, she listened as lessons were asked about and offered.
Menthe was pretty hopeless in the kitchen, whether it was actual skill or just her psyching herself out, but the idea of watching the little joys be created sounded wonderful! Maybe sometime she'd ask if that was okay. She didn't want to impose after all.
Taking a bite of her mint mouse, she smiled contentedly, before offering a very soft and polite. "They are very good. I would buy them from a shop..."

"White chocolate is hard to work with and it got kind of out of hand. I wasn't paying quite enough attention and the chocolate was on the brink of separating and didn't taste right." She mourned. "I'll try again at some point if you'd like some? I can make them in other shapes too. I really want to try and make a white chocolate dove but it'll be easier if I can find someone who can make custom molds. Otherwise I'd probably have to do it out of solid chocolate and carve it and that..." She paused, apparently realizing that she was getting a little carried away. "...Would be a lot of work."
She brushed absently at her hair and looked sheepish. "....Sorry. Babbling."

"We could open up the Zodiac Chocolate Shop," Bo said, beaming. "Holi could be our lead chocolate-maker. Serenade could be her assistant. I would be the store greeter. Menthe, you could design the shop window displays." Was Menthe artistic? Bo had no idea. But he was fitting everyone into this little picture. "It will be spectacular."
Of course, dreams like that would have to wait until the end of this war, but that was definitely not something the optimistic Senshi of Summer was thinking about, not even for a second.
"Well, now that you have shared your chocolate--" Bo ate another. Greedy, greedy. "--I should tell you that I brought some rum punch in the kitchen. No cups though. Ricky might have some. But you are more than welcome. It isn't quite as beautifully crafted as your mice, but it is tasty just the same."

Holi pressed a finger to her lips as though it could seal the smile that crept into place, clearly amused by this absolutely adorable idea. "I'd need a couple other people helping me make chocolate." She pointed out. "And I want to go take more classes." And travel... maybe. Would she be at liberty to travel or was that forbidden to knights?
She was a year short of legally being able to have Rum punch... but then again, by god, if they hadn't earned it she didn't know who had. At least a little bit maybe.
"Rum punch sounds lovely. I might have to try some."
