~Valor is the contempt of death and pain.~Wallace Wallace marched at the head of a group of heavily armored learanian soldiers. When he saw Lady Isadora approach the wee lass in the armor of a General he grinned as he thought of one of the commanders of this army. She must be quite the leader and fighter to be a General at such a young age. I must talk to her! He yelled over his shoulder, "Right lads, keep up the march! I won't be long!" With that he jogged up to where Amelia was and saluted the wee General by smashing his gauntlet covered fist to his cuirass with a clang. "Gene... I mean Captain Wallace of the Cae... Learanian Guard reporting! My apologies, I'm not completely used to this rank and this world. I've had no chance to meet you before now and simply wish to take stock of my the one who is to be my commander."~So, I'm to die in battle, am I? I regret nothing! Ha ha ha...ha ha...~

So he could go with whomever, huh? Sweet.
Unfortunately, Mela's little band of merry Beorcs was clearly lacking in Laguz. Not to mention they weren't going out to the desert yet. He wanted to see endless seas of sand, not go on a trip to a ruined town that smelled like a trap.
And so, he made his choice.
He gave a small bow to Mela's retreating back before shifting into his Beast form. With a yowl, he tore off after the specks in the distance, using his speed to try to catch up.

❖Edward❖
"Ah . . . thank you. Time to end this, it's been going on too long." The nearby soldier Edward had handed his weapons to was nearby, listening in the conversation. He handed the Swordmaster his weapons, Edward took them, nodding to the soldier before strapping the two blades onto himself, one at his side, the other on his back. Turning his head, Edward saw the Hawk King's force moving quickly across the land, he had to move fast. "Best wishes General and thank you." The Swordmaster ran towards the group, within a few minutes, he had caught up with them in short time and made his way to the front. He looked up and saw Tibarn, he was one of the familiar Laguz he knew. To fight with him was a honor.

Ewan So it was. Calill would join their ranks, not skipping a beat as she armed herself with whatever spare items they had. Another mage would be watching his back, just as he was watching Amelia's. The curiosity of her message, and who he happened to resemble was already getting at him! Just another reason to make it through this in one peace. Can't exactly have a conversation with the dead you know!
He had tried. Not pretty. Very traumatic experience and all that, almost blew the roof of the home. The secret of Latona's legendary shortcake would forever remain a mystery that died with her.
A moment to shed a single tear...And...Done!
He stole a glance towards Amelia, considering she was inquiring on his current readiness. His grin, unmistakable even underneath the cloth, was his answer to her, a quick grab of her hand and a tight squeeze his own reassurance to her. "Hey, with you...I'd follow you to Fomortiis' front door and back! ...Even if it meant seeing him in that horrible pink bathrobe of his."
That's right, a quick joke and a giggle won from her. Take that giggle, stash it at your side and hold onto it tightly. That laughter is your strength, don't let it go even for a second. When it all seemed to go to hell and back, let it out. That's your second wind. A day with her, a home to come back to and friends to protect. Time to be the man that you promised Tethys you be. ...Time to be the friend that you promised Amelia you'd be.
"Shall we start the charge?"

"You can't blame yourself. Blaming yourself and falling into depression, it won't change anything. You have to look →forward→. Remember what you have here now. Just think; if you hadn't come here, you wouldn't have met anyone here from Elibe or anywhere else!" {Amelia} Amelia nodded and gave Sunil a friendly salute before turning to face Wallace. She couldn't help but grin as she watched the faint light of Sunil's transformation flicker across Wallace's face, and then heard his cat-like shriek before he ran off to catch up with Tibarn's unit. May the gods be with you all, she thought, straightening her spine and grinning back at Wallace.
"Captain Wallace, it's good to speak to you. Are you ready for what's to come out there?" Amelia asked. She rubbed a hand against the back of her neck and cast a glance to the side as Edward ran off to catch up with Sunil and the others before turning her gaze back to Wallace. "I'm sure you've already gotten your soldiers prepared for battle, so I shouldn't have to remind you of anything. Just be ready, all right?" She offered him a reassuring smile and shouldered her lance again, feeling the reassuring weight of her bow and arrow on her back and her sword hitting lightly against her pauldron as she walked. "I'll be damned if I let us lose again. Not here, not now." Not again.
And then Ewan's hand found hers, and she squeezed back. That was her Ewan, always there when she really needed him. It was relief enough to know he was going to be with them in Pentheus. They could back each other up that way. Like it used to be.
"Hey, with you... I'd follow you to Formortiis' front door and back! ...Even if it meant seeing him in that horrible pink bathrobe of his."
She couldn't help but laugh, grinning wide. "If we can handle Formortiis, we can handle some bandits." Amelia turned to face the city. Pentheus loomed in the distance, tall and fortified. And pretty soon, they were going to be knocking the door down.
"...Yeah. Time for the charge." She tightened her gloves, giving Ewan a knowing look before removing her hand from his, and turned to face the army. "Everyone! This is it! We're going to take back what's rightfully ours, and we're going to make sure it stays ours! You with me?"
She couldn't help but smile as the mass of men and women in armor and in scholarly robes lifted their weapons and roared in approval. "Let's move, people!"
They seemed to be on the city in an instant. Or perhaps it was the adrenaline. Amelia glanced behind her to make sure Ewan was still close by, gripping his shoulder for a moment as they entered the east gate into the city. Amelia lifted a hand, raising her spear into the sky to gain easier notice. Curse being short! "Everyone, split up! Alpha Squad, you're led by Wallace! Search the north side of the city, make sure there are no stragglers left behind from the bandits! Beta Squad is led by Isadora, you do the same for the south side of the city! Everyone else, you're with me! We're going to drive a line down the middle of the city until we reach the town hall, and we're setting up headquarters there! Report back to me at town hall when you're done searching the city! Now let's move!" Amelia looked over to Calill and Ewan and beckoned to them with one hand. "You two, you're with me. Calill, aid the Third Mage Unit however you can. Ewan, you're sticking with me. If you've got any questions, Calill, go right ahead and ask them, got it?" She smiled and gestured for them to come along as the various parts of their forces split up to complete their respective tasks.{Graceful Spear} "What... I mean is... Being a member of the holy order doesn't mean you can't put your own wants first sometimes. The goddess is supposed to be all‑forgiving, right? You've worked hard and you deserve to do some things that make you happy. I think she'd forgive you for it."

After marching for a while, they had finally arrived at the city. Isadora looked at Pentheus grimly. Never had she expected the city to be in ruins so quickly. The gates were torn down. Buildings had holes and cracks. Even the streets looked like a mess as if it was becoming a garbage or bandit's bathroom. Hopefully, once they reclaimed the city, they would need to tidy up a bit. Sure they could restore the city like Eyris, but with bandits still roaming next door and no order to control Sentria's inhabitants, it would be foolish to restore the city's formal glory.
Isadora gripped her reins tightly in one hand while her other hand rested on her sword hilt. There was no telling if bandits still loomed around. As the group moved further into the city, the Dame Knight heard Amelia shouted an order. Isadora blinked.
Her? Leading the group? She never expected to lead the group after resigning her position as crew. Usually, she would expect Amelia to either have Wallace or Leon to lead the group due to their status, but herself? She wasn't sure what to say. Would the group be able to follow someone who no longer had any Learanian title or military rank? Sure they would follow her if she was still a crew member, but what about formal?
Although the paladin wished to consult with Amelia about the order, she saw Amelia headed out as well as Wallace. The Dame Knight let out a long sigh. I guess I have no choice. Isadora thought. Even though she wished to sort out this issue with Amelia, she knew very well that now wasn't the time. They needed to hurry up to reclaim the city and there was no telling if the main force would come back or not.
"You heard what General Amelia said," Isadora called out to the Beta Squad as she drew out her sword from the scabbard. "Search the city. If you happened to see bandits hiding around, defeat them as fast as possible. We mustn't let them sound the alarm. Now let's move."
The paladin snapped her reins as she led the group to the south side of Pentheus.

~Valor is the contempt of death and pain.~Wallace "Gwahahahaha! I'm always ready General! None catch Wallace of Caelin off guard! I like ya lass, you've got steel in your spine. You don't have ta worry about me or my men, we'll knock any who stand against us on their arse!" With that Wallace Saluted and marched back to the forefront of his command.
Wallace faced the soldiers under his command and smiled, it had been a long time since he had last commanded a large group of soldiers but he slipped back into the role as if it hadn't been more than a day, this is what he had devoted his life to, he was in his element and it seemed nothing could stop him. "Right then, ya heard the General! We're to take the north! First though, I don't like this name 'Alpha Squadron'. It's not a terribly inspiring name to fight under, it doesn't stir the blood. I say we call ourselves the First Pentheusian Legion! Now! We're to enter the northern half of the city lads and I want you to do as you've trained and smash aside any of these spineless brigands who foolishly stayed behind in the city! We'll tread over them like the dung heaps they are! We'll smash through their pitiful defenses as if they were nothing more than paper, and then we'll crush them under our boots like the insects they are! We march!" At that last he thrust his Spear into the air pivoted to face towards the north of Pentheus and set off at a steady jog with the rest of the newly christened First Pentheusian Legion matching his pace behind him in orderly ranks. Wallace's blood was boiling and he was having the time of his life.~So, I'm to die in battle, am I? I regret nothing! Ha ha ha...ha ha...~

A lone figure stood at the top of the Pentheus church tower, a skull-imprinted mask covering the lower half of his face. His cold stare permeated the air as he carefully took in the approaching army. Learanians. Led by that runt of a girl, barely old enough to bear children, in his mind. One could argue that he had excellent eyesight, but there was none of that involved. It was difficult not to spot that bright armor, the shining hair...How the country's leaders felt safe to leave forces of that size to the command of a brat was beyond him. A country valuing idiocity such as honor, friendship, loyalty...all signs of weakness. Is what he would have thought if he was a buffoon. The man knew better than to underestimate the powers one would gain through trust or perseverance. And he had studied the enemy enough to know that General Amelia was not to be trifled with. He wouldn't make the mistake of overconfidence. Unfortunately for him, the bandit's thought otherwise.
He turned to face his two liasons. Two neanderthals that he had never bothered learning the name of. He was not sure if they had been sent with him to guard him...or to keep watch on him. Regardless, they did not seem to be excellent in either area. It seemed Drake nor the nefarious Mordachians hardly cared about the city or the forces stationed there now. Even knowing the magnitude of the impending counterattack, they never bothered sending many reinforcements. Instead, they sent him these two morons with the message "Hold the city". Bastards.
The door opened, and another dark clad figure like him entered. He saluted him with a quick jab against his own chest, his back straightened out. The man answered the salute by telling him to be at ease, and the other man relaxed back with his arms around his back. "Leader, the Shadow Guild has been positioned as per your instructions. It would appear the Learanians sent just the size that you had predicted, larger than the forces the Mordachian intel stated. They outnumber us, Sire." The news didn't fill him with dread, nor with a sense of accomplishment. It filled him with nothing, except perhaps more contempt for the ineptitude of his allies. He let none of it show, as the two bandits in his presence exchanged nervous glances at eachother. "We had expected this." He finally said, not breaking eye contact with his underling, who shifted uncomfortably yet did not avert his gaze. "We proceed as planned. Ready the men."
Saluting again, the man turned to exit, stopping just short of leaving. He stood there for a moment, not saying anything nor moving, his hand never leaving the door handle. "Do you have something to say? Spit it out, time is wasting." The underling finally turned around, his eyes worn out, his face filled with anxiety. The night must have left him worried about the day at hand. Understandable, if a bit foolish. "Sire, if I may..." His henchman finally spoke up. "I just wanted to tell you, no matter what happens...it has been an honor to serve you. I am proud to have been part of the Shadow Guild. I would follow you to the gates of hell and back, Leader, and I speak for all the men when I say that." Cute. That's all he needed. The bandits in the room chuckled mockingly at the words. No doubt they would report that back to their own handlers once they could see an opportunity to make themselves scarce of the city.
"What is your name?" He spoke up, slowly walking up to the underling at the door.
The man looked bewildered at the question. "My-...My name? Leader, I..." For a moment, he stuttered wildly, giving anything but a calm presence in the room, before finally straightening out. "My name is Connelly, Sire." The man at the window nodded in understanding, before brandishing a blade from his wrist and grabbing the man by the neck. As he held him in place, he slowly cut a gash across his forehead, making sure an unpleasant feeling lingered all the while he did as the underling couldn't quite grasp the situation. The bandits looked on in horror at the spectacle as he finally finished, leaving a trail of blood trickling down the man's face. "Wrong." He said calmly as the blade disappeared as quickly as it had appeared. "You are not Connelly. You are not 'proud' to serve under me. You are not 'honored' to be in this guild. You are but a Shadow. We exist as nothing more, nothing left. Any concept beyond that is outside of our world. You'd best remember that, if you manage to live past this day."
It took a moment, but the man finally seemed to have understood the message, as he saluted him once more. "Yes, Leader. Forgive my intrusion." With a quick and courteous bow, he closed the door behind him as he left. The Leader turned to his guards, who still had difficulties understanding the situation. "Shall we leave then? We have an army to greet."

Just think; if you hadn't come here, you wouldn't have met anyone here from Elibe or anywhere else!" {Amelia} Making their way to the center of the city took less time than Amelia would have suspected. Quite the relief, after the long trip they'd had to get here to begin with. It certainly was suspicious that the bandits had cleared out right away, but at the least, it gave them a short time to recover from their strenuous march and regather their forces. Amelia made camp in the town hall building - a long, stone building with an expansive cellar, something she noted to Ewan on their brief exploration of the building - before making her way to its main office, resting her spear on the desk before sitting down on the edge of the desk itself.
"Well, we've little to do now until Isadora and Wallace and their groups make their way here," Amelia commented. She rubbed a hand against the back of her neck, then sighed and rose to her feet again. She of all people couldn't exactly afford to sit around and wait for things to happen. "What do you think, Ewan? We should probably check on the healers to make sure the temp med ward is coming along."
She paused as she lifted her spear again and rested it against her shoulder, frowning. "Wonder what's taking the wyvern corps so long, though... I honestly thought they would beat us here." She sighed. "Anyway. Shall we go? We can check on Calill."{Graceful Spear} "What... I mean is... Being a member of the holy order doesn't mean you can't put your own wants first sometimes. ((What happen to the Watch people? confused ))
After separated from the group, Isadora had ordered the men to search the area of the southern city. Those that were foot soldiers searched inside the buildings as well as alleys that were too narrow for the mounted soldiers to enter. They checked both under and behind large furniture such as beds and tables as well as checking inside the barrels outside in the alleys. They also checked at the top of the buildings to see if there were any bandits lurking to attack them.
The mounted soldiers who could travel farther than foot soldiers search further, but not to far from the group, onto the streets and larger area. If they happened to see bandits lurking around the shadows, they would be able to catch up to them. So far, soldiers came back to Isadora and reported that either building or alley had been searched and all was clear. The Dame Knight's lips became grim.
As much as the news sounded good, it was too good to the paladin. This city was too peaceful and quiet to the paladin after being taken by Sentrian bandits. Did the city really became abandoned? By the reports she was given it sounded like it was, but she didn't believe it. She knew too well that this city was too valuable to be handed around. So either the bandits really abandoned the city or they were very good at hiding from them. The Dame Knight had a feeling that there were some lurking around in the city. But where?
Perhaps the port? After all, the ports were led to the ocean and it was an easy access for the enemies to enter if they didn't want to travel by land. So maybe it would be wise to check the ports just to be sure. But first she needed to give the report to Amelia about the search.
"You there," Isadora called out to the soldier as she trotted forward. "I need you to deliver a message to General Amelia immediately. Inform her that so far the southern side of Pentheus was all well and clear. In fact, it's too peaceful and quiet for a city that runs by bandits. Let her know that we will be checking the ports right now before heading to the headquarter. You got that clear?"
Once the soldier understand, the Dame Knight dismissed the soldier to deliver the news to Amelia. If Amelia thought the same as she was, then they need to figure out what the enemy was planning. But did they have enough time to figure out? Only time would tell and right now, she needed to check the ports.
"Troops, regroup and head to the ports!" Isadora ordered. "We need to see if there are any enemies lurking at the port."
Or somewhere in the horizon of the sea. Isadora thought as she trotted to the direction of the ports, leading the group to it.

Ewan This wasn't exactly the most natural thing, now was it? Not much of a lion's den to venture into if the Lion's aren't exactly home! While he appreciated the lack of conflict so far, there was still the fact that this was a tad bit too easy! Something was up here, especially with that retreat that didn't make any damn sense. Bandits were something that he knew a thing or two about, running around with the old pack like he had before. At least a base of operations had been set up and everyone was safe so far. A few reports later and maybe some light would be shined on the situation.
"To be honest, we still need to get some other administrative duties done. The reports are due back soon, though the med tent is high priority. This is the first place that they'll come knocking, so we should probably leave word. I'd volunteer to check myself, but we need to stick together. I know I'm not the only one with a bad feeling about this whole thing." His arms were folded underneath his layers, a quick glance to the side stolen before he raised a hand. "I'll keep an eye out while I walk with you. You do whatever you need to do to get the whole place in working order."
Though, there was still the matter of the Wyvern Squad to worry about. Understandably, their greatest strength, mobility, happened to be their greatest weakness. A country like Felia specializing in aerial soldiers took some real management skill. The entire system relied on a strong and organized chain of command, continuously updated information and postings, not to mention messengers relaying messages back and forth between.
"Considering how big of a place this is, I wouldn't put it past a military's organization they're scattered all over. I noticed that Frelia had the same problem whenever I did some studying there once the whole Jehanna plan was shot to hell. This was all thrown up last moment, just right after the announcement. It's not that bad for troops like us located in the same place...But you can get pretty far on a wyvern, pretty scattered with how dang busy things seem to be around here. Honestly, I would be singing their praises if they beat us here. Anyone we ally ourselves with are good, but not that good. ,,,I should really get back to that one idea that I had...Instant messaging would be a goddess-send! Anyhoo...Calil's probably waiting for us, like you said. Gotta show I can handle myself! A pretty sage like that is healthy competition for me! It'll be nice to have you two watching my back."

~Calill~ Calill, aid the Third Mage Unit however you can. Hearing this, Calill did exactly that, sticking with the collection of magic users she found herself amongst as part of the group Amelia was overseeing.Upon traipsing into the overtaken city, one observation blatantly imprinted itself into the minds of everyone there: this Pentheus place was a complete and utter DUMP – absolutely derelict, dirty, and dilapidated. Honestly, it was no wonder the bandits who had overtaken this city were running off, at least in Calill’s mind! Who would ever want to live in such a city-sized trash-bin? Even when Daien’s Mad King had overtaken Melior, the Mad King, it was at least kept in order and decently maintained. Why even bother overtaking something if you’re going to run in into the ground to the point it isn’t worth overtaking anyway? Perhaps only the vilest and most unhygienic of the bandits remained. Calill was too new to know the details of what was going on. But her heart went out to the people who must have lived here before the city was overtaken and imagined what the city might have been like then.
…but not for too long. Or she’d get back to thinking about Amy again and start wondering about the details of her own situation, and this was simply not a good time for that. Granted, what time would be, but the circumstances at hand made it especially true for now. Besides, they were coming up to the center of the city, and those capable of using staves in this Third mage Unit were setting up quarters to heal the future-wounded. A grotesque thing to consider, really; to ready the healers because you know people are going to be injured before it happens. After the set-up infirmary seemed to be ready Calill chose to go with the offensively-inclined mages over the healers in the group. It would be a waste for a Sage such as herself to be limited to just healing when she could be setting their foes ablaze and healing these troops on the spot if necessary rather than having them all taking the time to reach healers further off. That is, if there were any enemies to deal with? What exactly was going on here, anyway? They’d seemed to have covered the entire city and not a single bandit or enemy in general had been encountered. Calill wanted a little more information about what exactly the situation of this city was. It all seemed a tad off, not quite fully believable, bizarre almost. Kind of like the situation she’s in. Don’t think about that yet. Calill asked a compatriot Mage she was with “Where did Amelia go, exactly? Do you know where I can find her?” After getting an answer, she headed off in search of the General woman.

Just think; if you hadn't come here, you wouldn't have met anyone here from Elibe or anywhere else!" {Amelia} Amelia nodded quietly, resting her free hand against her hip. "We'll wait for Isadora and Wallace's groups to arrive, then. I know we haven't run into any bandits yet, but we want to be prepared in case any of Tibarn's men arrive back injured, and especially if someone gets hurt if those bandits get chased back to Pentheus instead of being taken care of out there on their way to Sentria. Better safe than sorry, you know?" Amelia reached up and rubbed the back of one finger under her nose, sniffing once. "But yeah, I'd prefer you stick with me. Makes me feel better about all'a this." she reached out and patted Ewan on the shoulder, squeezing it gently before setting off at a walk, exiting the town hall. It was a rather impressive building, with a series of steps up to the main doors and a large basement, most likely for defensive purposes.
Amelia nodded slowly as Ewan defended the wyvern corps' late arrival, rapidly calming. "You're right, as usual... Gale and Vaida are extremely competent, too. They'll get here in time. I'm more than confident Gale can, at least." She smiled a little, rubbing the back of her neck. "He won't let us down."
She paused as they neared the tent, and lo and behold, there was Calill! "Hey! Over here!" Amelia waved slightly and hurried over, resting the butt of her lance on the ground. "So you've gotten yourself all readied, right? No one gave you a hard time?" Amelia smiled and leaned on her lance a little. "I'm sorry about you being dragged into all this, by the way. Though we really do appreciate your help. It's really kind of you."{Graceful Spear} "What... I mean is... Being a member of the holy order doesn't mean you can't put your own wants first sometimes. Oh joy. Somehow or another she had gotten recruited into the war. Healers were in great demand and even though the nagini refused to use magic, her medical knowledge would be appreciated. Because of her unique physique, the officials didn't quite know where to place her in the armed forces so she sent with the laguz under Tibarn and some grumpy furball. Some trip this was going to be.
As to be expect the march to Pentheus happened to be rather quiet for the snake woman. Being unfamiliar with her company made conversation scarce. How boring.
Aruna slithered quickly after the laguz, mages, and fliers when the large army split up into two groups. It seemed like they would need her more then the batallion that entered the city. Besides the serpentine lady enjoyed the warm desert heat against her scales more anyway.

~Valor is the contempt of death and pain.~Wallace Wallace marched with his troops through the abandoned streets of Pentheus. Each building was searched top to bottom and found to be empty. Each report of an empty building made Wallace even more suspicious, after all from what he had heard previously it sounded like this city was a very valuable asset. Why would the bandits abandon it for them to take if this was the case? It smelled like a trap to Wallace's pointy nose. He waved a Cavalier over to his position, "Okay then laddie I need ya to take a message to General Amelia. Tell her that this part of the city is empty, and that I'm continuing with the rest of my troops to the port to conduct a reconnaissance in force." He then sent the man off. The port would be the best way to get troops in and out of the city. He grimaced a bit at the thought of naval combat, most of his men would fair poorly if they fell off a ship. He turned around to give orders to his officers, "Right then boys we're headin' for the port. keep your men prepared for combat, I don't like the feel of this so we're gonna head in, and if it's a trap we'll spring it and then smash those bandits before they know what hit them. We're gonna hold 'em by the nose and kick 'em in the arse! If they're there we'll push them back until they fall into the sea! Now let's get moving!"~So, I'm to die in battle, am I? I regret nothing!
