As the Raevans considered their options, the spider just laid very much motionless, with her many twinkling eyes watching the pair carefully, trying to judge if they were food or were they nothing that she should be mindful of. But without any prompting on her part, the darker one set some of the webs on fire. With a small alarm, the giant tarantula watched the flames licked the web as it came in her direction. The reflection of the fire clear in all of her eight eyes. At that moment, the spider was still unsure what dangers the fire could cause, or the pain that it will induce.
With a wild high pitched shriek, the tarantula lurched backwards when her abdomen caught on fire, the flames slowly licking her hairy body. The legs went wild as she tried to put it off by patting it frantically with her own legs. However a spider's legs were not design for that purpose and she was unsuccessful. Then the giant spider started to bang at the wall of the hedge in an attempt to put the small fire out. The leaves rustled and fell out like snow in winter with every bang.
The Raevans seemed forgotten by the spider for now as she tried to put out the flames. However with her giant body moving frantically like that, do the Raevans have courage to pass? Best not to wait around to find out what the spider would do once the fire is out.

Luka watched in morbid horror as the giant spider let out a shriek of pain, the cold flames licking across her fat abdomen. For a brief second, a clear path showed, but the Satyr found himself mesmerized by the pale flames. He should've left. He should've taken Prajna by the hand and speeded away in that small path.
Golden eyes watching the spider, Luka found himself backing up into Prajna. "Is it working?" He asked, unsure if that had been the effect the Frei had anticipated.

Prajna had been mesmerized by its flames' impact as well, as its cerulean eyes glistened with a reflection of its untamed magic, "Don't...Don't know but... it looks hurts. Ah.. Luka.. We should--"
Prajna's thoughts were immediately disrupted by a glimpse of a path, an exit. It took the Star a moment to realize what it was staring at, but just as it recognized the potential of the small narrow passageway between the spider's large limbs and freedom, the magnificent creature cut them off once more, still shrieking. Panicked, Prajna pulled Luka close and behind it, stammering, "Prajna did as Luka asked. Now what? Now what now that fire is not enough?! Our chance at freedom is narrowing, Luka!"

In her frantic struggle, a few strands of web coating the hedge walls caught on fire as well and started to spread rapidly. The shrieking continued as the spider flailed to put the cold flame out. The fire, unlike normal ones, were cold and it was causing her a magnitude of pain. Slowing down for a second, it seemed like the spider was giving up and taking a breather from her struggles, when she saw once more the culprits that did this to her.
All of her large beady eyes looked upon the frighten face of the young Raevans as she began to move towards them with jerking leg movements, her abdomen still on fire. Hissing menacingly, she spread her legs and nearly covered the entire width of the path before the young Freis, effectively blocking their escape path.

As the monstrous spider let out a shriek of both pain and anger, the Frei turned to his friend. "Close your eyes Prajna!" Maybe, just maybe, he could force out a ball of light bright enough to blind the spider long enough for them to have another distraction. Putting himself between the spider and Prajna, he took a quick look behind him.
"Don't open your eyes unless I tell you to." He said sternly. He didn't want to risk temporarily blinding Prajna as well.
A ball of light forming in his hand, the light grew more and more vibrant with every second. For Luka, the light made no different, but perhaps the light would affect the spider some how. Then suddenly, the ball exploded in a white flash of light. Had it worked?

Prajna did not hesitate upon Luka's request as it immediately closed its sapphire eyes shut and even covered them with its hands as a precaution. A small part of the Star wanted to peek out from beneath its fingers but no, now was the time to see what Luka could do and simply have faith...

The spider paused in her path as a blinding light suddenly flashed before her. Letting out a shrill shriek that would send shivers down spines, the giant monster lifted it's front four legs up in shock and surprise as it stumbled backwards a few steps, hitting the hedge wall once more.
A small and narrow path opened before the Raevans along the opposite wall as the spider was dazed for the moment. Will they be able to pass it safely in time before the giant tarantula recovers from her stupor?

IT WORKED! "Let's go Prajna!" Luka shouted, grabbing the star's arm as he made his way towards the sudden path that opened under the large tarantula.
As he continued down the green path, the Satyr couldn't help but take a quick glance behind. Thank god they were free.
