Von chuckled at his question and stopped playing to inspect her hands. "Yea I have, once or twice." The calluses would be there if she didn't treat her hands with a special lotion after playing. " I've been playing since I was 7." She didn't know why she was bluntly answering his answers but she supposed in a way it was her way of thanking him for saving her life.
His smile sent butterflies to her stomach and she returned the grin. "Good, it's a deal then." She glanced at him one more time before breaking out into a fast beat ballad. " So what kinds of music do you prefer? I can play pretty much any style."

Lothar smirked as she stopped playing to inspect her hands. She obviously had been reminded by his question that her hands weren't being taken care of. He glanced over to look at them and was surprised to see that there really weren't many calluses or anything wrong with them. Hmm..perhaps she was taking care of them.
"Well four years is pretty long." He said with a slight shrug. He'd been playing flute for about that long, though since he had been instructed privately more had been expected of him. He remembered practicing for two hours a day when he had started and how much he had hated it. he still practiced regularly but not for nearly that long.
"Shall we shake on that?" He said sticking his hand out to her with another charming smile.
He leaned back to listen to the ballad she was playing, it was a bit too fast for his taste but it sounded nice. "Oh all types. I was forced to play a lot of classical stuff when i was being taught to play the flute so I'm a bit tired of that right now." He replied and then glanced around the room.
There had to be some sort of wind instruments here, he got up and started looking around in search of one. It didn't take him very long to notice several music cases in one corner of the room. He walked over and looked them over.
"Violin, trumpet, French horn, piccolo, aha! A flute case!" He said triumphantly and picked up a black case and opened it to reveal two pieces of a flute laying side by side in the black velvet case. He picked up the two parts and expertly twisted them together. Then he went back to sit down next to Von and listened to her notes carefully before he placed the flute to his lips and began to follow her as closely as he could.
He was rather astonished when not only did the flute sound clear and bright but silvery blue notes began to rise out of the end of the flute and spin into a pattern in the air in front of him. And then..the patterns began to turn into pictures depicting a romance gone wrong.

Von smiled and lowered her playing as he joined in so she could listen. At Lothar's initial reaction she snickered but was secretly highly amused. As it started showing a show she chuckled til she caught the images. Thinking about her unknown relationship with Kenny she slowly changed the tune to something a bit more cheerful and hoped Lothar could keep up with her unspoken changes. If he could she had to have him in her band. " Not bad Kid. And with that flexibility in what you can play could come in very handy."

Lothar could make out Von's face and her reaction to his playing. She was obviously rather impressed but a moment later she was snickering. He just let his eyes smile at her as he kept on playing, focusing on the music and not her expressions. He was rather glad when she began to play with him once more and changed the beat of the song so it was more upbeat. He followed her lead and was rather amazed by the brightly colored light show that emerged from the end of the flute.
They were so bright and shiny they looked like fireworks. When she finally stopped playing he followed suit and rubbed his lips. Man..it had been ages since he had played like that. He really needed to practice more.
"Thanks, that's what my teacher always told me." He said with a grin.
He made sure to clean out the flute before he put it back in it's case and put it back where he had gotten it. "So then..do you just play for fun or are you planning on starting a band or something?"

Von smirked. " A little of both actually. I've got myself, and my ex involved so far, though not sure if he's still interested." She shrugged as if it didn't matter.
" So if I decided to pursue the band idea, would you be interested?" She followed his lead and put her guitar up and hopped off the stool. She leaned against the desk as he cleaned and put the flute away. She was all set to keep talking when a sound reached her ears. " Seems it's supper time already." She held out her arm ready to walk linked arm and arm to supper with him. " And don't forget to let me know what your father says." She winked playfully at him.

Lothar was rather surprised to hear that she had an ex. Well..that made things rather interesting. At least to him. It was nice to know he hadn't been flirting with a girl that had a boyfriend. Though Lothar probably would have flirted with her either way. It was just his nature.
Of course it was better that she didn't have a boyfriend that might beat the crap out of him for looking at her. That was definitely a good thing. Not that Lothar got beat up all that much. He usually had a way of diffusing and disarming other kids with words before a fight could start. One of the reasons why he preferred being intelligent over having brawn.
"Well I suppose you shall have to ask him about that then. sometimes people change their minds after something like that's happened." Lothar replied.
Lothar mused over her question for a moment. "Perhaps, I'd have to meet the other people first. If I can't get along with someone in the group though..I don't see it as a wise choice to join. I don't want to create a bad dynamic between you and your mates."
Lothar couldn't help but watch her out of the corner of his eye as he cleaned the flute. She was definitely a very cute girl, he sure hoped his father would allow him to bring her home for the summer. Things would be much more fun with her around. He just had to break it to Louvenia and see how she took it.
"Yes so it does. I imagine you're famished from all that fingering dear Von." Lothar said taking her arm and tucking it against him. "Oh I won't forget something like that. You'll liven things up in the castle greatly, I can tell."
