He stared at her. "Danny, I'm six four," he said. "I wanna have the FULL length of the bed and the floor and that chair ain't comfy. Plus, sitting here watching me sleep is creeper even for you," he drawled. "We're good again, go chase down someone that'll play with you while I get some sleep in, okay?" he asked, yawning loudly.
"Go tell Amphi that you know, how about that? Then see if she's told that Thana guy, so we can stop not touchin' whenever we walk around campus. I got the jackin' right to hold my own ghoulfriend's hand, y'know?" Which seemed to be a sore point for the boil.

Danny frowned and said, "I will but ..." Well one she didn't want to leave her newly-recovered best friend, but even more than that ...
"Are you really that afraid of Thana?" she said, scoffing. She'd never met Thana, so she had no idea what she was talking about, but her best friend was lacking in the courage department (at least in Danny's opinion). "Dude you're like a billion feet tall and you have Desiree backing you up."
She punched him lightly in the arm and said, "Hold her hand and if people start talkin' I'll kick their butts!"

"I can't kick his a**!" Roch said, looking at her in shock. "Even if she ain't datin' him, I still figure they're really good pals. That's like--well, like if Amphi wanted to kick your a**--okay, not so much," he said. "But beatin' up one of her friends isn't how you make your ghoulfriend happy, I'm an idiot and even I know that," he said bluntly.
"Besides, I only just now told you," he said with a yawn. "Give her time to tell someone else, then we'll announce it to the jackin' world and if they don't like it--THEN I'll kick some a**," he said. "Until then I'm so jackin' exhausted that I can't even SNEAK, which is pathetic."

Danny puffed out a cheek. He was so stubborn! If it was Danny and there was another ghoul in Rikki's life, she would've very assertively claimed Rikki. In public with some kind of make out session. Yes.
She was getting up to leave him alone when her eyes grazed past the yearbook and the bracelets, and she remembered what she came here for.
"Oh! Oh Roch I almost forgot- no sleeping yet, okay?" She crossed over to the desk and grabbed the book and the bracelets and then returned to Roch's side, ushering that he scoot over, but just as willing to take the floor again.
More quietly, she said, "It's ... about Tex. So really. Don't fall asleep."

He jerked awake. "What?" he asked. "What about Tex?" But he didn't scoot over--this was totally his bed, dammit, HIS.

Danny rolled her eyes and knelt down by his face on the bed. "Umm ... I found some lockers down by Arel's office," she began, "And there were these boxes ... One of them had May's name on it and I KNOW stealing isn't good, but .... it's not like she's here to take it anyways."
She pursed her lips, waiting for Roch's reaction. After a moment, she said, "She had a stupid leaf inside, but then there were these two bracelets ... and I kinda think they were meant for Tex? I dunno, maybe they weren't. Just kinda seemed like it."
She held up the red, grey and yellow bracelet and then the green, brown and purple one so Roch could see them. She didn't quite introduce the yearbook yet, because she wanted to see his reaction to the bracelets first.

He reached up, hesitantly taking the larger bracelet from her. There was a strange expression on his face. "Danny... can I have this?" he asked her seriously. "I mean, since you were followin' with May I can understand why you'd wanna keep it, but--"
He wanted it. He wanted to look at it and remember what was lost--what could have been. Because ignoring it just made it insignificant, and he jackin' well wouldn't do that to Tex.

"Wait, what? Yeah totally, totally. It's yours," she said, holding her hands up and slipping the green one around her own wrist, underneath her sweatband so it wouldn't fall off. These things had to be a million years old- she didn't want to risk it falling apart and falling off.
She smiled and said, "But I think you'll like the other thing more." She bent down, undoing the drawstring bag and pulling the book out.
"There was also this yearbook ... I don't know most of the people, but there's a few pictures of May- you know she was president of the Friends of Nature club?" Danny was probably the only one who had been surprised to find this out. "'I only skimmed it, but ... there's bound to be a few pictures of Tex. At least one 'cause his school photo."
Danny didn't hesitate to shove the book into his hands. "And just don't ask. It's yours. It means more to you than me."

"Wow, Danny... thanks," he said, looking much like a little boil with an unexpected gift. "I just... I should show this to Dad and Gramps," he said as he started carefully opening the book and looking through the pages, trying to find Tex pictures. "Wait, lockers?" he asked. "Is that why they were guarding it so closely?"

She nodded, chin on the edge of the bed, looking up at him with a curious expression on her face. Roch didn't often get excited about things, especially not when it involved Vegas or Austin.
"'Ah ... I dunno if that's why, I guess it might be maybe? Yin showed me this like ... secret tunnel thingy? in the office. I dunno why, but there are a bunch of lockers." She scratched her head idly. "'Cept a lot of them were like ... beaten up and opened. Stuff was all over the ground."
Come to think of it, why was that? Danny had never really questioned why the lockers were so beat up. It just didn't matter to her. "Ah ... I woulda looked for Tex's but the boxes were really heavy. I could only get May's out."

"Danny, tell me exactly where this secret hallway is," Roch said. "I wanna see if Tex left anything. After I get some sleep."

"It's um ... It's behind this thingy?" It was really hard to explain, honestly. How did you talk about a hidden door when it was hidden? "I'll just have to show you later."
She smiled and said, "Sleep though, 'kay?" Couldn't have a sleepy Roch after all. He got grouchy.
A light squeeze to his arm and she was up, brushing herself off. "Just find me when you're done with your nap. And don't dream up weird things about Amphi!" Blechhh. The idea of Roch doing pervy things with ANYONE was gross.

"THAT you get no say in," Roch told her, laying back down and yawning. "See'ya Danny," he added--
And promptly fell asleep to dream of... things.
