Anyone is welcome, so long as they can memorize who the delivery's recipient is and a brief message <3 Which position do you think she'd want to be? c: I'll put up an official form later, its not going to be really formal at all lol

A note that I haven't written up yet - I think the clan takes great pride in what they do, and most are in it just because it gives them a sense of purpose and because they enjoy the work. Its not really for personal benefit, its to be a part of something greater and providing awesome service to the swamp. Payment is usually in certain favors for all members, i.e. hospitality in a region they might travel to, or navigation, or help tracking, or promises of aid should a Courier get injured. Bribes can sometimes be made to try for an especially quick delivery, but its hard to ensure more than a few legs of speed because a Courier can only carry so much of an item bribe xD

Untold Wishes completely wants to be a part of this as a runner. She has a fantastic memory and she loves to run (though she'll do it gracefully, damnit or not at all) She will have a songbird at some point that can help her find recipients and to tell whomever she reports to that she'd arrived and the customer satisfied. Besides, she likes what she does and if someone insists on 'tipping' her, all she asks is secrets.

And yessss, Untold Wishes, yess yess <3 I envision her often doubling as a Tracker to deliver her message in person, which is also totally chill. The division between the positions is primarily to allow more sedentary kin to join + more specialized recipient finding, and fast kin/allow kin who love to run to focus on running should they choose.

I'm also anticipating throwing SDPlus dolls at Abby to bribe scores of songbirds xD They'll probably be trained to sing a few particular notes for: "runner arrived safely!" Or "Package needs pick-up." Aieee I'm so excited, so glad you guys are interested <3

I really like that songbird idea! Reminds me a little of Hunger Games where they train the mockingjays to make certain noises and it gets passed along throughout the entire forest. *v*

YES. Delicious anti-Kio sentiment tradeoff with Courier service. Would a potential Westfen/Western Outpost alliance be possible? I think unless Westfen completely shunned the Couriers, kimeti-only Trackers could make regular deliveries/check-ins at Westfen at the very least. Or the Western Outpost could make base near (probably not on) Westfen territory... how far west is Westfen again? -goes to stalk-

I'm thinking most all clans with "contracts" will have regular Couriers dropping by to pick-up/drop-off packages.

I think they'd be fine with Kios just really want them off their land asap. I'm not sure though! I need to talk to Thy about it.

One of the things I'm thinking of is like, once a Courier enters Westfen territory they'd need to be escorted by a member so that they can be assured they leave pronto. Hmm...

Yess, get Thy in here, we must needs discuss this thoroughly since Westfen is basically the West/the gateway to the western part of Matope <3 Any Kio-Runners heading through would be sure to leave ASAP, since they're trying to deliver as fast as they can. I think the Couriers would only really need passage through the territory, with one outpost east of Westfen and one remote outpost farther west. Only Westfen members occupy their lands, so only deliveries to the clan would need to have a Courier stop by... but with such an obvious destination and only a very remote area farther west, the Runner would probably just deliver him or herself.

Or would it be better/simpler to staff Westfen + Beyond with pure Kimeti?

Lol it'd be interesting to RP this setup, mainly as dialogue back and forth with Skyrender negotiating with Longclaw xD Skyrender will probably need to find a kimeti Manager to come in as backup, that'd probably go better...

If he wasn't up for that, perhaps a loosely affiliated courier who did his own thing/occasionally served as a mentor? Eitherway, I don't think the Couriers would overlook him, nor he never cross paths with them once they get established surprised

I'm not too sure what shop cannon is on the west! But yeah I think that west/gateway thing is sounding pretty cool. ' v' I'm thinking about a possible toll or something to cross their territory. What do you think about that?

Westfen's okay with Kios as long as they don't linger in their territory, so there's no need for an all kimeti staff. They don't mind half-breeds either! Not everyone is super hostile, in fact I don't think any of the current members are super hostile either. XD

I also like the idea of an escort, I think it gives something to RP with but you don't have to go through? It'd just be assumed that's what happened.

In my head I see Westfen as a pretty big chunk smack dab in the middle of the West with maybe some free areas north and south of it, but the most direct way to get even farther west would be straight through Westfen? Going north of it or south of it to avoid its lands would be too roundabout.

The Couriers definitely wouldn't pay a toll, though, since they really only charge for the most troublesome of services (heavy packages, advertising). If it came to that, they'd just alter the routes and take the long way around, and probably deny service to Westfen >> They would probably settle reluctantly for escorts, but the concern would be it'd slow them down. Then again, they don't know Westfen territory as well as a clan member, so they'd probably agree to see how that played out if Westfen was willing surprised

I'm considering a hospitality thing to Westfen too, but haven't talked with Thy about it yet. It's kind of along the lines of guest-right where as long as you are in Westfen territory, they'll protect you and feed you and stuff. As long as you know, leave. LOL;; If that's the case I think the Couriers could benefit from that but let me get back to you on that point!
