Baridi let Gunju pull his paw away from her and sat back on her haunches, observing the male a bit closer. He was favoring it horribly so even though there was nothing that clued her in to what type of wound it was, it very obviously hurt. The poor thing...

"I'm sure you can take care of yourself," she said with a little nod. "When you're in proper health. 'Recently' isn't very convincing, you know," she added with just a hint of a smile. "I'm not sure what I could get on such short notice, but perhaps I could try to find you something that can hold you over a few days. A few birds, perhaps, or if I'm lucky a small antelope."

There was lots of prey to be found, she could tell. The air was full of their scent and the watering hole nearby had quite a few patrons drinking from it. "There's no shame in asking for a bit of help. Plus, I owe you for warning me about the lions."

Baridi made a little 'tsk'ing noise as Gunju gave her a slightly sheepish smile. There was nothing wrong in letting someone help, after all. Especially when one was injured, male or female regardless. Some males were like that, though, especially more independent ones like her own breed. She had come across lions who were more than happy to let her assist them, but most of that breed tended to hold females in a higher esteem. Most being the key word there.

"You're right there. Pride will only get you so far," she said as she stood. "I'll see what I can do for you. And if I do end up bringing an antelope back, I would be more than honored to share with you." She gave him a smile in return before trotting off towards one of the watering holes she had spotted. Perhaps she'd get lucky and there would be a small herd around somewhere...
