"I-I didn't mean any harm. I-I just thought..." She shut up before she could put her foot any deeper down her throat. Ellie started wringing her hands as her nerves came to the forefront again...then hesitated when he complimented her name. "O-oh. Thank you. The full thing is Eleanor, but I don't like it much... Francis is a nice name...too." She wondered for a moment if he was ever called Frank.
It was indeed an adventure to get to this hidey-hole. She looked at the set-up in some awe while Francis disappeared. When he called to her, she observed the little area she was supposed to pass through. It looked tight, possibly even dangerous. Good thing she wasn't claustrophobic, or...
"Wait...did you just call me fat?" Eleanor wasn't offended, but amused at the idea. She slid in rather easily. For a moment she was reminded of the days she would follow her cousins and when they would go into places that, in retrospect, were very dangerous ventures indeed. But their idea of squeezing spaces tended to involve crawling and the inevitable spider or five. How could she have ever been so daring to follow that craziness?
"Made it..." she announced eventually.

Francis was a bit amused when Ellie began to stammer in response to him. "Hey calm down, it's okay." He said with a small smile. "I just take things personally sometimes..especially if people say I don't bathe enough."
"Eleanor," He said testing the sound of the name out. "How lovely. And thanks. I rather like it, though there are some really annoying slytherins that keep teasing me about it."
Francis was glad that Eleanor couldn't see his face when she asked that question. "No, I just meant..it's a tight fit. I had to suck in myself..and I'm freakishly skinny." He replied feeling his face go hot. Man..he need to be careful with what he said. He knew from experience that speaking about weight around girls was not a smart thing. His older twin sisters were always jumping down his throat about that at home.
"Please accept my apology, I did not mean to imply such a thing." He told her as she finally slipped in besides him. He shot an apologetic smile at her and moved over to give her some more room by the window. "I think it's funny no one else noticed that this is here."

"Well...please don't take it personally. It wasn't meant to be..."
Oh. He liked her name, but hearing its entirety from someone else, new or not, made her reflexively wince. She was only ever called that if she was in trouble. And she hated, hated being yelled at, even if she was at fault and knew better and deserved it. But it still made her not like it. "I would rather be called Ellie." Eleanor shouldn't have told him in the first place. Stupid, stupid! Quick, change the topic. "Then...don't listen to them? N-not that I think you do, but...they're st...silly. Either way. It's a nice name for a boy."
She smiled a little when he was obviously stumbling over himself to apologize about what he said about sucking in. "I-It's okay," Ellie said when she saw him again. "I wasn't taking it seriously, anyways. I didn't...mean to upset you... Sorry." So now she was apologizing again. This was going to be a thing, it seemed. Still, she was smiling. At least he was doing the same.
Ellie looked around the room, then out the window. "I think...I think I like it." She almost said that she could live there. If only. Seclusion would be easier on her than roommates, even if they meant well. And Miller sure would enjoy not having to deal with people more than he had to.
"...How did you find it?"

Francis was relieved that she hadn't really meant it, but was a bit annoyed that she was still apologizing. "Like I said, it's okay. Water under the bridge."
He noticed that she was a bit taken aback by his saying he liked her name. Was that a wince? Why would she react that way when people said her name? His questions were answered when she explained that she'd rather be called by a nickname. "Ah, okay, Elli it is."
He turned to glance at her when she told him to ignore the slytherin boys. "Well it's rather hard when they're screaming "Francis Fancypants" or "Princess Francis" in my face while they're beating on me or pulling my pants down." He replied rather dryly. "I've been trying to walk different ways to classes or with groups of people to avoid them but they keep finding me." He mumbled more to himself than Ellie. He was rather embarrassed that he was being bothered so much and he couldn't do anything to stop it.
"Well at least you think it's a nice name." He said gifting her with a smile.
He was relieved when she smiled at him and then assured him that she hadn't taken his comment about sucking in seriously. "Well..I should have been a bit more thoughtful. And please there's no need to apologize all the time. I'm not that sensitive." he replied shaking his head slightly.
"Well I'm glad." Francis replied and watched her as she glanced around the small enclosure. It was almost as if she were sizing it up for new curtains, a carpet and furniture. He couldn't help but smile at the thought. It would be rather nice to have something to sit on, perhaps he should try to get a couch or chair to bring in.
"Hmm? Oh well I was trying to get away from those slytherins and found this little alcove. I started using it whenever I wanted to have some privacy."
