Having heard what Roch had just said, the ghoul just stopped. And stared. And made a few rounds around Roch, observing him appraisingly. She wanted to giggle, but she didn't.
“Well, it's good that you're confident about something at least,” she deadpanned. The teasing, it wasn't stopping anytime soon.
The ghoul would sigh and smile, genuinely, at the last few sentences of what Roch said.
“You're really a good person aren't you?” she said, shaking her head and shrugging. “You're right though, let her choose. But don't exclude yourself from being an option. And as for not wanting to take advantage of her, well, I think you'd know if she really does like you and has chosen you. Until then...” she paused to stare at him again, “You may continue being the gentleman you are now.” Yes Roch, you have been very gentlemanly.

"Well... I ain't gonna COMPLETELY be a gentleman," he told her, looking downright wickedly playful. "I never said I wasn't gonna show off. Or let her touch me. Just nothin' TOO serious. Like, y'know, kissin' and stuff." She'd spent a good couple of minutes petting his wife beater clad chest one time, there was no way in hell he was going to stop something like that!
But hearing those words from Edel--who he still saw as one of the classiest ladies he knew--did make him feel better, he admitted silently.

“Well, they do say ghouls like the bad boils,” she responded, equally playfully. It looked like his spirits were up again.
“So, problem sorted out? I would offer you some advice on how to charm a lady, but it looks like you've got that covered already,” she grinned.

"For now," he said honestly. "If I DO start datin' her, can I call you for more advice?" he asked. "Cuz I got no clue what to do with a ghoulfriend," he admitted, extremely sheepishly.

“Yes, you may,” she said, nodding her head sagely. It was really fun seeing Roch so flustered.
“You be you and you'd be fine, just don't go putting yourself down in front of her,” she cautioned very seriously. “Good Luck, Roch.”
Just one little thing.
“Do tell me though, who is she?”

"She's a knob named Amphi," Roch said, grinning crookedly. "And I'll try. I'm workin' on it," he admitted. "One day at a time, y'know? I only got a handful of people that love me, but it seems like a hell of a lot more than there used to be."

Amphi huh? So that was someone to look out for.
“And I'd expect to see the official fan club soon,” she snarked back, glad that Roch was now back to himself. “I'll see you then, since you've got some romancing to do.”

"Yeah," he said. "An' call me when you get to your home, okay? Just so I know, k?" he added, turning and walking away with a wave over his shoulder. "Bye, Edel!"

“Sure, goodbye Roch!”
And now it was back to packing. The ghoul's mood dampened a little at the thought of it. Edel walked back slowly to her room, pondering over this funny little thing called Love. Maybe she still did believe in it after all.
