"Before you say ANYTHING," Roch said to the little mermaid, holding up a hand to stop her. "I wanna ask... um..." He hesitated, wondering how much she had heard. No, that didn't matter, hell, he'd probably tell it to her face if she asked. So this was the part where he did something stupidly dramatic and confessed--
Nope.
"I was thinkin' of goin to Spookyland," he said. "It wouldn't be a date-date or anything, cuz Danny wants to come, and she would bring Gene--so don't start panicking yet, or anything, but I just thought... y'know... you might wanna come with us?" he offered. It wasn't nearly as dramatic as Undine was probably picturing. In fact it was most likely one of the most innocent "first steps" ever. But hey, this was Roch. He was TRYING, okay?

Amphi blinked, not saying a word and watching him owlishly.
O A O
He wanted to ask what, oh jack would he, but she wasn't, and then ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
"Oh!" She smiled at him, crawling up the stage to sit with him and nodded. "I've never to been.....to spookyland." She had heard of it of course, A large theme park with rides that were meant to thrill.....It sounded fun! "Oh! Danny? I love Danny so it should be fun, but I don't know this Gene ghoul...." the mermaid offered.
She hesitated before answering, "I would love to go..." She smiled again up at him, her face flushing. "Roch...um....your words....they meant a lot to me." That was the right thing to say right? "thank you...and....I'm sorry about Undine....She is just very protective..."
"I also think Roch... Deserves someone to love him....and go to hell and back for him" She held the booberry tea out for him, looking up at him now. "Do you want help with the stage?" She offered, all of her awkwards.

He gave her a crooked grin, reaching out and sliding his hand into hers, just for a second, then pulled it up, looking at her palms. They seemed pretty soft for this sort of work. "Um..." He reached into his back pocket, pulling out a pair of rough black gloves, complete with fingers. "These might be a bit big on you, but if you wanna wear these and drag some of the wood planks that I've pulled off over to that pile over there?" he asked. "Don't want you to get splinters or cut yourself," he said, absently playing with the hand he'd taken captive.
The difference between his huge, calloused hands and her tiny ones was blatant when he held it like that. But he was spending too long playing with her hand, he thought. Whoops.

Amphi blushed when he took her hand, trying not to quell that urge she always got when someone touched her. Her face only deepened though.
She liked his hands though, much different then her own. They felt rough and worn. While her hands were soft and...dainty.
"Oh!" She looked at the gloves and smiled shyly, "thank you very much." She blinked as he continued to play with her hand, not sure if to tug away or not. So she watched him instead.
He had features that were very nice. A strong face, bright eyes....She liked his smile the best. Even then her eyes laid on his lips for the briefest moment...and then her head ducked away, broken eye contact. For the briefest moment, she forgot that had Thanatos too...and that she was attracted to two boils. She had enjoyed that simple moment for what it was....before the guilt and doubt in herself rose.
"Where would you like me to start?" She whispered...her throat a little dry.

He knew about Thanatos for sure, now. It almost showed in his eyes as he shot her a tiny grin, letting go of her hand and getting to his feet. "Now works," he said. "But you tell me when you get tired, okay? I ain't gonna push someone that ain't used to this sort of thing." It almost seemed like he was talking about something entirely different than physical work.
"Oh," he said, heading for the eyephone set up with speakers on the side of the stage that didn't need worked. He crouched down next to it, pushing the play button. Fast paced, fun, and loud music filled the air. "There we go."

Amphi blinked before laughing. "I can handle it!" She squeezed his hand before letting go, taking his offered gloved and slipping them on. They were much bigger and looked droopy on her.
She stuck out her tongue for a second, Then took the gloves off, taking her long hair and twisting it into a bun. Then put the gloves back on.
She watched him walk away and then blinked as music filled the air. It had a nice beat, and a fun pace. Getting in the mood, she swung her hips and started to drag the wood that he had pulled off, collecting them in a pile.
The wood planks were a little heavier then she thought, and after a trips back and forth, Amphi stopped and wiped her brow.
"You...How...Do...You...Do...So...Much." She breathed in, looking at him. Just where did he get all the strength to do all these things!!

Roch was prying up another board. He paused, glancing at her. "Uh..." He was a bit blank--they'd been working less than an hour. "Well..." He wondered how to put it. You couldn't just out and say "You're a bit of a weakling, aren't you?" It'd be offensive. Oh! Wait, he knew how to put it.
"Y'know how you swim? You can do it for hours and like, days or somethin, right?" he was guessing. "Well I spent most of my childhood doin' physical stuff when I wasn't playin' my guitar. So I can go for hours, sometimes days if I'm pushin' it. I got... what's the word... stamina! Really good stamina," he explained ever so innocently. "I'm really good at obstacle courses!" he added, flexing one of his arms to show off as a joke.

Amphi made the small "o" with her mouth and nodded. "I have lots of swimming stamina then!" She frowned, "I am...a weakling..." She crossed her arms under her breast, giant gloves folded over her arms.
She blinked though as he flexed, stepping closer to him and reaching out to feel the muscle.
"Oh...Oh!" She managed and then mimicked him. "I don't think I have any muscle~!" She frowned, poking her smaller arms.
If she noticed how close she was to the reaper, she didn't make a mention. Her face was so focused on comparing there muscles that she just didn't realize that she was touching and exploring his arm.

"I probably stink like sweat," he said, feeling extremely self conscious now that she was proceeding to feel both of them up compare muscle tone. "Hey, why don't we have that booberry tea you brought?" he asked. "I'm seriously thirsty. I bet you are too."
He had no clue he was probably reminding her of that time in his room when she'd spilled it all over him. Actually he was remembering it--and thinking it'd been a shame the tea had gone to waste.

"I don't smell anything?" She shook her head, and still compared muscle..."Hold on!" She held up her finger and then tapped her lips. "If it is inapprioate, you have to tell me to stop..." She looked up at him. "I have never seen.....Muscles." It wasn't entirely true, but at the same time, she had never really payed attention.
Her hand trailed to his other arm, feeling the muscle there and to his chest.
"How come our bodies are so different?" She mumbled to herself. "How come your so much bigger then I am?" She looked up, sighing.
Her face flushed, as her hands dropped.
"Ummm...Tea...Yes."

"Um, uh, cuz--" he stuttered slightly. "Guys tend to be bigger than ghouls," he said a bit lamely. "Since... I uh... guess ghouls are supposed to be softer, more gentle--it ain't a bad thing, y'know? Guys do the brawling--well, no, I know a lot of ghouls that brawl, but..." Yeeeaaah, he sucked at explaining things. "I figure there should be more beautiful things in the world, which is why there's ghouls," he decided. "And music."
A very roundabout way of saying he thought she was beautiful, right? Or just that he thought females were beautiful--which wasn't that big of a surprise, knowing him--

She pursued her lips even more.
"I am not a brawler...So I can only agree..." She tilted her head up again. Stepping away to grab the two bottles of tea and then returning to stand in front of him, handing him one and opening the other.
"Do you think...all ghouls are beautiful Roch?" She flushed, a small sting of some sort of something there. "Music is beautiful too. And Roch is beautiful?" she tapped her lips again.
She leaned up though, since her was harder for height to reach all the way to his full height and touched his cheek. "I should get back to work before it's too late!" She smiled again at him and then stepped down....putting the gloves back on.

"Not all ghouls," he said. "I just... um..." and then she went back to work, leaving him to uncap his booberry tea and take a drink to cover up his awkwardness. See, Danny, he thought silently, no skills. No skills at all. "Hey, weren't we taking a break?" he asked abruptly. "Breaks require SNACKS!" he declared. "Wanna go hit the cafeteria?"

"Not all of them?" She asked curiously, "You said once you were attracted to me, but does that mean....you are attracted to other types of ghouls too?" It was normal wasn't it? She picked up a plank as well, moving it over to the pile and blinked.
"A break?" She looked up at him and smiled, "I suppose we were. But....oh...I suppose...yes food would be good." she grinned, remembering when He had effortlessly carried her and ate food at the same time.
It was any wonder the boil wasn't a gluttony demon instead. "Oh but...." She looked down to where some of the dirt and grim from the boards had covered her. "I don't think I look acceptable for the cafeteria..." she wiped the glove over her face, spreading dirt on her cheek instead of rubbing it away.

Cue the compliments a cooing--
Wait... nope, this was Roch we were talking about. "Yep, you're a complete mess!" he said, grinning widely as he headed for her. "You got black spots here, and here, and one riiiiight..." his finger ran down her nose, tapping the tip. "Here. If I let you go in like that they'd wonder if you were takin' up stalkin' in the bushes," he teased.
His face was just as dirty. But unlike her, he didn't care.
