Danny stood about ten feet away from Roch at all times. It was gross, SO GROSS. He was covered in water- what was she supposed to do?
"Prom was really fun! I liked dancing best ... Especially the shuffling one," she said happily. That one had been fun, since everyone joined in!
She adjusted her crown as it was falling down and said, "How about you?"

"I am confused out of my jackin' mind thanks to it," he said honestly. "But the dancing was fun! Some of the music really sucked, though," he added, making a face. "That's what you get when you let Herryk Screejay," he drawled. "Bein' undead must affect his hearing, too."

"Hey that's not nice. Herryk did his best, okay?" she chided, "And it wasn't THAT bad." She thought about it for a moment and then added, "Except maybe the chicken dance. That was pretty bad." No one could deny that.
Changing subjects, she said, "What was so confusing? I mean you just sort of go onto the floor and dance it's not THAT hard ..." This coming from a ghoul who sometimes forgot how to tie her shoes.

"Sure I'm confused. First she hides from me, then forces me to dance with her, then tells me she's nervous and her stomach is jumpy, then gives me the 'Friends' line, then TACKLES me in front of her date, spills glitter on me that smells like s**t, then she hugs me and kisses me on the cheek--Jackdammit, Danny, Amphi confuses the living HELL out of me," he told her.
"How do I go back to partying all the time and not giving a jack?" he asked her.

Danny looked over at her friend who seemed to be having a scareling-sized meltdown over there. She wanted to go give him a slap on the back or something, but his skin was a little ... preoccupied with the water. Blech.
The installment with Amphi was certainly interesting. Surprisingly, she was actually pretty glad with Amphi. She hadn't been as sure with Taryn and Xiu- supported him sure, but just not as ... well comfortable with the choice. Amphi was someone she knew really well, and loved.
"Amphi kissed you on the cheek?" she said, pondering it. It was kind of weird, but at the same time kind of cute. "Also, y'don't. Just be happy with something for once." Danny knew all too well how Roch had a habit of measuring himself short. "Sounds like she kinda likes you too."

"Nah," he said. "This sort of stuff ALWAYS goes bad for me, Danny, ALWAYS. It's like I'm cursed. Nope, best thing I can do is forget about it, walk away, and I got plans to do just that sooner or later--that horseman Fai? He wants to go on a road trip. He offered to pay! Course I got work to do for the boss, too..." He frowned, wondering what he should do first.
It depended on how long it too to forget the whole Amphi thing, he decided. But there was one thing he wanted to do. He definitely wanted to clean up that stage a little, now that he knew where it was.

"If there's a curse I'm sure we can get a nice mage to lift it ..." Danny was missing the point, but hey- she was trying! They had their own weird way of cheering each other on.
The horseman thing sounded boring to Danny- after her encounter with Lan and Shikoba, she wasn't too hot on horsemen. They were kind of grumpy and mean.
Then Danny actually admitted her feelings. "I dunno, I ... kinda like Amphi, Roch. I mean as long as she didn't take up all your time and stuff ..." Because that meant less time for Danny QQ- "Why not ... try and go for her instead of letting her come to you?" Danny was not the master of relationships, but it sounded like pretty good advice to her.

"Danny, y'remember my thing for Xiu? I chased her like... whoah. Only to be told I got no clue how to be romantic and that I feel the same for her as I do all my friends," he said bluntly. "Which happened to be a load of minipet crap, by the way, cuz I figured out how I felt later. But either way, I SUCK at chasin' ghouls. I suck at havin' them come to me, too. All in all, I got no skills," he said bluntly--admitting something he would ONLY admit to his best friend. "I think it'd be best for everyone if I stuck to Desiree."

Danny rolled her eyes. "You're okay at ... ghouls." This was probably meant to be a boil to boil conversation, wasn't it? Well ... there wasn't much difference anyways. "You just suck at telling ghouls how you feel."
She thought about Rikki, honestly because when love-talk came up that was just who her mind drifted to- for obvious reasons. There hadn't really been any strife asking him out ... other than maybe when she thought he was with Edel. He'd always been kind of playboilish though- that was probably a problem?
"Why not take her out on a date or something? We- I mean you guys- could go to Spookyland!" Danny just wanted to go to a theme park mostly.

"Danny? Do you wanna go to Spookyland?" Roch asked instead, looking at his best friend. He wasn't completely idiotic. He could pick up on clues--especially when it came from her. "I'd have to get one of the geezers to go along with us, if she said yes. Ain't enough room on my bike for three."

"I really wanna go to Spookyland," Danny gushed. She could not tell a lie when it came to the unholy ground of Spookyland. There was nothing more fun than screeching down the skelecoaster or the Screamin' Bat.
The idea of riding on a motorcycle with Vegas was REALLY EXCITING, but somehow, she didn't really want Roch's parents there. It'd be weird.
She shrugged and said, "Wouldn't it be easier to just take the trolley? It goes straight there and I can pay ..." An idea sprung to mind though. "Ooh! What if- what if you and Amphi went on your bike and then I met you guys there?"
She had moments of brilliance.
Moments.

"Nah, trolly works," he said. "But it wouldn't be a DATE date, y'know. Just pals hanging out, cuz that's exactly what Xiu said wasn't romantic," he said pointedly. "Also, we should drag a fourth, so everyone has someone to ride with..."

Danny shot an angry fireball in Roch's path- not to hit him, more of just a knee-jerk reaction to what he said. "Amphi isn't Xiu okay! Stop comparing them." It annoyed her. Amphi and Xiu were nothing alike (okay they were a lot alike, but not to Danny).
Crossing her arms, she grumpily said, "Rikki's been really busy 'cause of his mom lately ... I don't want to drag him along when he's got other things to worry about." Danny wasn't really happy that his mom was treating him so meanly, but there was nothing she could do. Honestly- she hadn't even met the woman.
"Maybe I'll ask Gene ... or Bea ... Demi would be fun ..."

The thought of going with Demi made him fall silent. "Do whatever," he said finally. "But wait till we even manage to ask her if she'll go play with us," he said--somehow this had turned from a date to them just goofing off as a group. That was safer. But hell, so was a trip to an amusement park, where there were millions of screaming scarelings.

Danny was one of those million screaming scarelings.
"Ooooh do you think their Skippy the Scrags will be there?" she said excitedly. Danny loved their little bouncy mouse mascot. "He's my favorite!!"
Anyone who said that Danny had set them up was lying.
She just wanted to visit Spookyland.
