 Chewing softly, Mirage's soon closed as well. Yawning, she snuggled up close to her mate, reveling in his warmth, the feel of his fur. With the sweet, sweet taste of the moon-flowers on her tongue, the white doe slept soundly for the first time in days.

Soon those whispers turned to screams, the screams of the thousands of lives around him. He could hear the trees, the ants, the grass, the wind, the water, everything. They called his name, and he listened. They told him there secrets, what they have done and wish to do, where they have been and what they have seen. He seemed to be floating above one giant mass of thoughts. Swirling in a never ending flow of conscious beings. They spoke to him in a voice of a thousand. He trembled, they calmed. "What is this?" he spoke to the mass. It replied "WE ARE THE THINGS, THE PAST, THE PRESENT, THE FUTURE. WE ARE YOU, WE ARE HER, WE ARE EVERYTHING, WE BRING LIFE, WE BRING DEATH, WE FOLLOW, WE SERVE, WE ARE FOLLOWED, AND WE RULE! WE NEVER END." then it was a black nothingness, just Haze floating through himself and his thoughts.

As Mirage was swept away into the black nothingness of sleep, a sound reached her ears. Something she couldn't quite hear. Instinctively, she followed it. Every hoof-fall radiated life as the Swamp awoke around her. Vines swirled and grew, trees shot from the mud, and water sprung from the ground. Eyes watched her from every shadow, under every leaf. Like the Swamp itself was looking deep inside her soul. The voices grew louder, there were so many, still unable to decipher their message, her mind was spinning, faster and faster, everything a blur, and then words spoken in the voices of thousands. f o l l o w xxx h i m

Suddenly he awoke to a dim lit world. The flowers where closed and the tree swayed above them. Its giant roots reached across the ground, some were so large you could live beneath them. Mirage lay next to him, asleep he slowly rose to his feet. These plants what ever they were lead him closer to the Motherfather. he walked towards the trees center under neath of its grand roots. A light was shining from within the tree and it shook him. "YOU ARE HERE BECAUSE I MADE IT SO" it rang, its thousand voices were familiar to him now.
"Why did you wish me to be here?" Haze asked. "YOU SEEK THE TRUTH DO YOU NOT? I KNOW WHAT YOU WISH AND I SHALL GIVE IT TO YOU, BUT ONLY IF YOU BRING THE TRUTH TO OTHERS. YOU MUST ENLIGHTEN ALL TO MY WAYS! BRING THEM HERE AND TEACH THEM."
"I shall." and he tumbled back into the darkness.

Mirage awoke, blinking in the moon light, her mind fuzzy and her stomach burning. her dull eyes peered in front of her, where the pile of white-dream-flowers lay. Slowly, recognition bubbled its way up and suddenly she remembered. She'd seen these flowers before, in some of the far, far reaches of the swamp. Their petals caused hallucinations, while their stems and leaves caused horrible fevers. Still muddled and confused, she felt a sudden urge to get rid of them. She stood on trembling limbs and stomped the beautiful flowers into the dirt, staring mindlessly.

Finally he was awake, the warmth next to him was gone. he slowly opened his eyes to see his mate smashing the flowers." NO STOP! What are you doing?!" he yelled. His flowers must not perish. They where his door to the others, to the thousands, to the Motherfather. he got up, his head filled with fog he tumbled back down. "Please..." he whispered as he crashed to the ground "you mustn't."

Hearing her lovers voice, Mirage stopped, setting her hooves down gently. She stared at him, confused for a moment, before stepping over to him and gently licking his forehead. "Hush now, all is well, isn't it?"

He was calm, the flower where safe. "I am sorry for yelling. I had a vision In my sleep." he said to her "they brought me closer to the Motherfather." he looked up at her, his body was aching and his head felt as if it was swollen. "i must rest, i am sorry." he laid back down. closing his eyes he fell back to sleep.

Worry filled her eyes momentarily, but that soon faded and she smiled, resting her head on his shoulder as her mate slept. She knew that it was the flower's doing that brought Haze his 'vision', not the MotherFather. But she would let him believe that if he wished. "Where you go, I shall follow." She whispered so quitely before falling back to sleep herself.
