"I suppose that depends on your definition of 'good'. Perhaps the Nergui believe that their actions are good. That they are doing something deemed necessary. What is 'good' and 'bad' but a label? A point of view? My ancestors once believed it good to enslave outsiders and bend them to their will. But that belief has long since soured." Even still, he felt for this male. He was clearly seeking some sort of redemption for wrongs committed by others. His own kin.

"Revenge can drive lions to madness." He replied after a moment, thinking of his own daughters. He hadn't seen them recently but he knew that Azar had seethed and Fia had cast aside her job as an historian to fight in the impending war. He hoped that anger would not drive them to their own deaths.

And then the lion paused in step and Kidondo followed suit, turning to face the lion with his strange markings and strange eyes.

"So." He said, balancing his weight evenly upon the sand. "Do you wish to join us as kin? Do you wish to duel for full membership? Or were you hoping for a brief alliance for however long this war lasts?" His eyes cast across his pelt again. Dark as a stormy sky. He could not pry the truth from him if this lion was lying. He could trust only in his judgement and that had not let him down yet. Not in all these years.

Minkah was quiet as the lion started to speak, he was a little frustrated by his words but he did his best to keep his temperament cool he knew that it would be bad if showed any of his frustration he knew that it would be bad and that this could end up tragically. He didn't like the idea of that. He didn't want to reverse all of the work that he had just done. He was in the lands and he was hoping that he was getting closer and closer to helping. Mink was a very positive lion. He almost always was a friendly lion who liked to think the best was going to happen and everything was going to be great and all was going to happen was going to be good and was going to make him happy. That was how he felt about all of this and he was really hoping that this was one of the times where he wanted even more than normal for everything to go his way.

"I understand what you are saying regent." He said simply his eyes glancing toward Azar before back toward Kidondo. "Many others outside of these lands though agree that killing of any kind is no good. I've met many other lions and they agree that it is bad." He was a little stubborn with his thoughts. Minkah did go with what was the general sense of good but at the same time he knew there were other views out there. Even some of the things that he believed he was on the fence about because he was still, to a point, getting his footing of who he was and what he liked to do and what he didn't like to do. He was a little bit of an odd one mostly because he was still leaning of how he felt about his visions and how his visions made him feel about life.

"I don't really seek out revenge." He said simply thinking for a moment, his face twisting into thought. he wasn't completely sure of what to think about it. "Well, I look to help, bring justice really. I want to bring justice to those who are wrong." He paused for a moment as she thought about it once again before speaking to the other male once again he really found the best words to wrap up his feelings. "You could say that it is indeed revenge but at the same time revenge is personally driven, they are family which does make me more upset but at the same time I really have no strings to my father or sister other... then the fact that they are my father and sister." He paused in the middle of his sentence. As he said those words he was a little upset truthfully. He hated the fact that he wasn't close to his family he really did hate it a lot he just occasionally wished that he was one of those cubs born into a happy and loving family that stayed together for... forever.

At the lion's next question he paused, honestly not that sure of what to say to the lion. "Well, at the moment I'm not sure." He wasn't sure if he was ready to settle into the pride. "For now I would like to stay to help during the war and that is for sure." He then thought about it before turning toward the male once again. "Can I make my mind up about this later on?" He asked curiously, not really that sure of what to say, part of him wanted to agree to stay but yet he still had plenty of time to move around and go do different things he was still pretty sure that he was not ready to settle.

"Please, accept my apologies, I did not wish to turn you from your goal or twist doubt into your mind. You've clearly come with good intent. I can respect that and am glad of it. I have met and spoken with many lions during my life. Some pure-bloods, others of mixed blood and some of new blood altogether. Each of them have different views and behaviours. Each of them come in every shade of grey you could imagine. The world is not so clear cut. It cannot be viewed as black or white." He blinked his desert-coloured eyes and though he didn't smile, his expression seemed to soften. "But you have a good air about you. Far more white than grey."

He expelled a breath of air and shook out his mane. "You understand what it will mean? To go against your family? The memory of it..." He trailed, thinking of his own father, then. Rarely a day went past when he didn't think about King Kimeti. "It will stay with you forever."

His eyes were solemn as he turned to look at the male again. "We normally do not allow visitors within our lands. I suppose...given the circumstances, an exception could be made."

His tail swished. "Answer me this, Minkah. You may not know much of the Nergui, but what do you know of the northern lands? Do you have knowledge of the terrain there that might give us an advantage if we were forced to march or give chase?"

Kidondo needed a reason to justify the lion's staying.

Minkah paused as she thought about it not completely sure of what to say to the male. He knew it as a bad thing but yet he didn't care. He didn't like having to fight, go after or kill some one, but yet at the same time he knew that it would be for the greater good. It was more good for him to fight with the firekin then to just let this go because some one may end up dying in the process. He knew this was the better idea in his heart and he was planning on following through with it. "I do understand what it means." he said simply with a nod, and then he nodded, he really did know what he was getting into. It wasn't his favorite solution but it was one that he knew he had to do, for himself and for others. "i have no true connection other than blood to my father and sister. I don't remember them well." He had never siad osmething more true. He knew little of them he wasn't even sure if he remembered their names.

?Minkah closed his eyes and thought about what he coudl remember. Tried to remember as much as he could. "I can't remember." He said honestly, "I'm sorry that information wise I may not be too much help "I was very young when I was there last, I can't remember much." He then paused and then looked at the male once again. "I mostly remember their odd markings and that they treat sons better than daughters." He then paused and though. "Although I can warn any lands up in the mountains may include snow," He paused as he tried to remember. "I don't remember if they are there but it's true there is snow often when there is mountains, opposite of snad." He said simply as he nodded at him before pausing. "Yeah I'm sorry I can not be of more help with this situation."

So Minkah was another set of teeth and claws.

Kidondo gave a stout nod in response before turning his head to beckon Azar'bijan over to them. The large, stocky guard immediately bounded to his regent's side, all tense and suspicious.

"Minkah here wishes to aid us in our battle against the Nergui." Kidondo continued, his body still, eyes still on the stranger in their midst. "We have no reason not to trust him in this and I believe him to be a lion of his word." And he did, mostly. There was always the possibility of him being a Nergui spy but then, that possibility came with every rogue that joined them. The only difference was that this male held the accent of a northerner and that, naturally, was going to bring suspicion upon him.

"Then he will duel? I will gladly do it." Azar'bijan replied, looking more than a little eager.

"No. He is here to aid us. Not to join. But that must be kept between us for now. Is that understood? I will not have anyone give reason for him to be harmed whilst he is here." Unless he gave good reason, of course.

"What? He is too good to want to join us?" Azar looked enraged and the darkness in his eyes held more than a little threat. "Kidondo, you can't mean to allow this--"

"--I do." Kidondo snapped, with more fire than he normally allowed himself. "I will take him back to the pride with me but, once you are relieved of your duties here, I wish you to induct him. You have spent too long out here on your own and Minkah will need a worthy lion to teach him all he needs to know. You know the lay of the land and you are a skilled warrior, Azar."

The compliment seemed to quell Azar's anger a little. Kidondo had long learned how to manipulate this particular lion.

"As you command..."

"Very good." And then Kidondo turned back to Minkah. "Please, follow me. We are some ways out from the heart of the lands yet and you will be in need of shelter and rest after having travelled so far."

[we can fin there or you can do a closing post? Whichever works!]

Minkah was relieved to have finally gotten what he wanted. He was partly surprised that this went by so easily, he liked the regent he was an interesting male that was for sure. He liked it though he felt as if he was a brave male and not only brave male however one that was very understanding. He enjoyed seeing that in a lion. "Sir, I cannot express the appreciation I have for this gift that you have given me." He bowed his head simply to the male. He really had no idea how to show the male that he appreciated what the male had done for him. He couldn't really put it into words.

He stood by the regent's side as he watched the other male approach, he wasn't that happy about the idea of the more hostile male was going to be the one joining him in this adventure but at the same time he knew if it had to be done that he was going to deal with it. He made a note though in his mind to keep himself at a safe distance, not to make it obvious but to make sure that he didn't get up to the male's side so the male could hurt him. He made notes in his mind to make sure that he was to keep an eye on the male. He knew that he was going to have to be a little on guard until he was comfortable, or at least until he felt it was safe to keep his guard down. He listened to the conversation between the two before pausing and looking at the regent as his attention turned back to him. "Yes, I would enjoy that, thank you very much." He stated with a nod before starting to follow the male. This was going to be an interesting adventure in the firekin lands however in the den he knew that it was going to be okay. It made him pretty happy, and he knew he was going to be able to do what he had set out to do.
