J'nes was having trouble thinking of a reply. Partly because her words did make their own kind of sense, partly because he was busy trying to pay attention to her attacks. So he decided to save his breath. She didn't seem likely to be persuaded, anyway. He dodged her attack, then aimed a punch at her belly to try and knock the wind out of her.

His silence earned a smirk, but it didn't last long - shards, but getting punched in the gut always hurt, and no matter how tough you were, it was hard to pretend otherwise. Still, even as she gasped for air, she struck at him.

J'nes' punch may have knocked the smirk off the other rider's face, but her hit made sure he didn't have much cause to smile. He staggered under the blow, then got his feet back under him and aimed a kick at her.

Good, because you're not making much sense anyway! Hatteth retorted, stepping back out of range of his foe's claws. Then he lunched forward, trying to headbutt the other dragon.

The other brownrider was turning out to be a hard hitter, and she knew she couldn't take many more hits like the ones she'd already taken. Fi'o was on the lookout this time, and managed to jump back, out of range of his kick.

He wasn't surprised, really. Not many ever did understand his reasons, and his fondness for whers had always made him a bit eccentric. Now it was...more serious than that, but the principle was the same. Ivanhoth avoided the other's attempt to headbutt him, and twisted to strike at his neck.
