Guild Bill of Rights The Crimson Ibis is not your typical GGN guild. Instead of the captain(s) having supreme power, we allow our members to have control. In many ways, we try to act like a democracy. As such, by being a member of this guild, you gain rights you would not normally get in other roleplaying guilds or forums. This page is to inform you of what rights you have.

Ibis Doctrine Your Rights as an Ibis Guild Member The Right to PetitionIf you don't like something; anything. A user, a rule, the guild. You've the right to make it different. If there are more supporters than non-, even if the captain is a non-supporter, the thing will be solved how the users want it solved, which is what makes this guild great. The Right to Free SpeechThis isn't a dictatorship, and as such, you won't get banned for anything you say about the Captain or crew of a guild. Several times an "And if I get banned for saying this, which I probably will, I don't care.." have come up. You will NOT get banned. I don't have to agree with what you say to respect it. [This does not include outright flaming, which you can be banned for. "UserA is an idiot" is a flame "UserA has a lack of of posting talent and is a handicap for this guild" is not.] The Right to be HelpedUnlike most guilds, Our Captain and crew HAVE to help you if you have a question or descrepancy regarding the guild. If they don't, they lose their status. They didn't get their status because I like them. They didn't get their status because they gave me money. I don't even like some of the crew I instated personally, but differences in opinion are good to balance power. The Right to Leave/QuitPretty much self-explanitory. We just ask that you let people know, first. And if you go out with a "Bang", be it massive flame or just an inflammatory picture, it'll be dully noted by the Captain, but the post won't be deleted (Unless it violates some other rule) just because you're insulting the guild you're leaving. It's YOUR choice to leave if you want to. Whatever reason is good enough for me. Even no reason. I'm not going to PM you and beg for you to come back. The Right to Invite MulesJust let a crewmember know and we'll do it. But if this gets abused(i.e. that really isn't a mule you're inviting) we'll stop doing it.

RolePlayers' Doctrine Rights as a roleplayer in the Ibis Right to Freedom of StyleWe do not force you to write in past tense, third person. We don't care if you use symbols to depict actions. Roleplay whatever you want, however you want, as long as it's creative, legible, and more than one sentence. Right to be AcceptedAs with the above right, you've the right to be accepted by others. You shouldn't be outcast because you roleplay differently. Because of this, you yourself have to also be open and accepting to others. For example, as a thread creator, you have to accept everyone and give them the chance to post before they may be denied [unless the RP is private]. Right to ImprovisionPeople leave, threads die. If you want to go on and you know the person who was supposed to post before you isn't going to, you can improvise. You can NPC that character, so you can keep the thread going. This is true if you are the current GM or not. This does not mean, however, that you can move anyone you wish. Only those who haven't posted or given a reply to notifications about them posting. If the person you NPC'ed comes back and is angry about it, it's their fault, not your's. If you can't handle the argument, just PM a Crewmember and they'll cover it. [Unless the poster warns they will be away, 5 days is the time they have to be gone before you can NPC them] Right to Freedom of CreationIn this guild, you can make an exact replica of a pre-existing character from a pre-existing TV show/anime/movie/manga/etc., without being looked down upon. Just remember that if the Thread Creator doesn't want those types of characters, you may not use them. This does not mean you cannot use them anywhere, however. Fan-oriented RPs are accepted here, as are Bars and Taverns and Hangout roleplays. Additionally, while making a God character is frowned upon, there is nothing stopping you from making one and using it(unless the thread you're in expressly says not to)

Thread Creators' Doctrine Rights for Thread Creators in the Ibis Right to Freedom of Creation. At the Crimson Ibis, we do not discriminate against certain roleplays(unless they violate ToS). So you may create parody roleplays, anime-based roleplays, bars, family, etcetera. Right to Deny Entry. When you make a thread, you have the right to make that thread [private], meaning that only people you pre-selected may roleplay in that thread, and you do not accept applications from outsiders. Likewise, you may deny certain characters from people if they do not fit your roleplay(Such as a gangster in a midieval setting). You cannot, however, deny a person specifically, just because you do not like them. In summary, denying characters is okay, denying people, not okay. Right to Thread Moderation. When you create a thread, you are the Game Master. It is your job and responsibility to keep your players in control. If someone has a habit of godmoding, kick them. If someone disappears, NPC them or kick them. It is completely within your right to kick a person from your rp after they have posted at least once. You can kick someone for disappearing, godmodding, or otherwise going against your thread-stated rules. You Cannot kick someone just because you do not like the person personally, or their posting style(unless you gave a specific posting style that you wanted in your thread rules). If someone will not leave your thread, don't be afraid to get a crew member involved. Not leaving a thread when a GM asks you to is a bannable offense in this guild. Remember that it is your responsibility to police your own thread, and if you make no effort to do so by yourself, the crew won't make an effort, either. Right to Thread Protection. If you want your thread locked, deleted, or moved to dead threads, you may do so without anyone else's permission.
