General How-To
Make an RP ThreadYou can set it up like a mini-shop(reserving posts for certain things) or you can put everything in the first post.
It's good to have How to join, the story of the RP, rules, character list/characters available/news all on the first page.
The setting should be made as well, and then it should be free reign for everyone to RP in. [Note that if you reserve posts, you have seven days to flesh them out. Otherwise your thread will be moved to dead threads]
Move your old RP thread to hereI would say just copy and paste your critical info, such as how to join, the story, and the news and players, etc. here, and then link to the old thread for an archive of what has happened.
But do NOT just link to your RP to advertise. This is against the rules! Your thread will be locked, you warned, and then later your thread will be deleted.Get your RP on the Roleplay ListPM OneCalledPyrin with the link to your RP thread, explanation of the plot, and the genre of the RolePlay.
Get your thread deleted/moved/lockedPM a crew member using the guide in the previous post or put [DELETE] or [LOCK] in your subject title of your thread and somebody will get to it.
Get your RP Thread off the RolePlay LinkListPM OneCalledPyrin. You do not need a reason to get your RP off the RolePlay LinkList.
Become an affiliateWe are not accepting affiliates at this time.
%%Submit a banner for the guild
We'll have an official thread for that soon.%%Make a Character Bio ThreadTypically, Character Bio threads have one post per character, one thread for all your characters. People usually do not respond to these threads unless you are looking for comments/critism in how you made/devolped the character.
Things to include for explaining your characters are Name, age, sex, height, weight, description, sometimes a picture, weapons, history, and sometimes a sample post.
Afterward, sometimes there are links to threads that character has shown up in, as well as what genres/eras/geographic locations that character is RPed in.
Even less frequently is an OOC excerpt of what the person did to create the character, or other interesting facts that the person feels like showing off at the time. Some examples of Character Bio threads are
here, plus an extremely overzealous guide on Character biographies
here.
Make an RP ResumeResumes are a little different from Character Bio threads, but essentially the same. That sentence didn't make much sense.
Anyway, Resumes typically have a list of all the characters you use, links to threads you've roleplayed in, an explanation of what exactly you have roleplayed(what genres, how long, do you do paper & Pencil?) In a nutshell, it's you trying to prove you're the best RPer out there. It's really just you bragging about your abilities, and how long you've had them.
You can also list what "styles" of roleplay you can do (descriptive, para, story-based, literate, t1, t2, t3) and what styles you have done before(speed-based, chat-based, one-lining), as well as what styles you're comfortable RPing with.
It is also common to have a short biography of the "mun"(person behind the characters), talking about yourself and who
you are. So it is a resume, but.. For. Roleplaying. It's for obsessed people. I've never tried to put a resume into a thread; most people put their resumes on webpages, as I have done
here.
