Thank you so much for the crit, and for telling me my changes I made were in the right direction. I added in some changes that you talked about. I'll just put them here so you don't have to go searching for them. Lol.
Stress
Stress is almost paralyzing to Pepita. At first it overwhelms her and she breaks down, not sure what to do. Finally, after she has had time to push it out of her system, she will go consult her mother. Her mother is wise and usually has great information and influence on Pepita's decision. This method becomes harder if the stress is related to her family. She can still ask her mother about problems relating to her brothers and sometimes her father but obviously not when it comes to her mom. If there is a stressful problem or situation that accors and obtains to her mother, Pepita usually avoids her for a while and tries to figure things out on her own. She might ask her brother Jayden for some advice but usually she ends up confronting her mother. That can either be helpful or make the situations even worse. No matter what the stressful situation, they always begin with overwhelming her and lots of tears.
Academics
Math and Science were always easy. Everything just made sense. Most the times the rules stood firmly and there were a lot of information to back these up. They were her strong spots academically. However, English was a whole other boat. There were so many rules and each of those rules had exceptions. One simple comma had about twelve or so rules just for it. Each of these was difficult to understand and remember. Writing papers was difficult as well. Her ideas never came out easily and she had a hard time making a point. Her papers become ramblings of her ideas as they moved around. NOthing solid and readable. Since her love of fashion, Pepita has been wanting to become a fashion designer. However, this seems rather difficult and like it would actually be hard work, so instead, Pepita thinks she might just go into something business like. That would probably suit her math, science, and history knowledge. Or maybe she could become a history teacher. Honestly there were too many ideas out there and she wasn't particularly ready to pick what she wanted to spend her whole life doing it.
Heritage
Her mother brought back some of her New Zealand traditions when she moved to America. Her children were taught them but they were not forced to believe in her views. Pepita picked up on them quickly and was fascinated with her mother's heritage.
Her New Zealand background is something Pepita is very proud of. She believes that is has shaped a large part of her and that if she were able to, it would inspire her clothing creations. Sometimes she would paint designs on her face to be just like the Maori Warriors and feel brave and strong. It was almost like an alter ego and an escape from reality.
And I added in the bit about the darkness boosting her hearing and smelling. I like that. : D
