"Let me tell you an old story, which originated from Chinese humans," He chuckled, wondering if she got what he was trying to get at, "There was once a frog who was born in a well, and had lived there all his life. He would look up at the same piece of sky everyday - the only piece of sky he could see from his well - and never thought to venture out. One day, a tortoise passed by his well, and asked the frog for directions. The frog foolishly replied that his well is the whole world. The tortoise told him that the world is a very big place, but his world is very small. He is but a frog in the well."
A pause.
"That's what it means to be a frog in the well," He decided to repeat himself, "Someone with a very narrow view of the world... Someone who doesn't know how small they are, in comparison to the world."
He raised an eyebrow, not putting up much of a resistance against her insistence on him being 'cute', even if it was a term usually reserved for Biskoto, or the poke to his cheek. She seemed insistent on touching him as well, after all.
"I wonder~" He finally replied, "Perhaps you'll understand more when you're older." In mind.

Amphi listened to the story, and eyes widened as she understood. She could relate after all. She had seen the world from her sea. She had only seen the sea. That's all she ever knew, all she thought she would ever know.
"I understand....Thank you...for telling me the story.." She smiled up at him, "It means that its natural to feel small then. I understand..." She said slowly. How come it was that...Thana made it so easy to understand things.
Amphi cocked her head at him and frowned.
"How much older do I have to be..." She cocked her hands on her hips and narrowed her eyes. She was now focused on that instead of him answering her question. "But you still didn't tell me why you call me your Mermaid, Thana." Oops, guess not. She wanted a answer buster.
"Unless...It's a answer that I won't understand....because..." It had something to do with the feelings for him. What those feelings were, she didn't know but....she had a odd suspicion that Thana knew.

"As natural as not breathing is, to an undead," Thanatos grinned, giving Amphi a mock bow as a 'you're welcome' to her thanks, "Being curious, like you are, is not a bad trait. In fact, I consider it an asset..." Chuckling softly, he lightly patted her on the top of her head, almost like the way he would pat Biskoto; it wasn't half as affectionate, but outside of the usual formalities, it was rare for him to use any sort of gesture on anyone.
Perhaps that was why he felt a little surprised at himself, the way the head pat had came so naturally. The surprise wasn't shown on his face, however, his grin remaining constant.
"There is a time for everything, and the time for me to attempt an explanation is not now," He explained, raising an eyebrow as she trailed away, wondering what was going on in that head of hers.

Amphi preened...at the pat on the head. He had given her a pat on the head! She instantly glowed at him, like a puppy who had done something good, or a child who had gotten an A in her grades.
"I'll be sure to ask all of the questions then." She laughed, innately pleased with herself. "And to ask about things to be clarified." She nodded. "So I grasped the the moral point of the story or statement." Look at you go Amphi, picking up things everyday.
She didn't realize though that Thana in fact surprised himself, after all, his face was never changing.
"You know what you remind me of sometimes..." Amphi wondered aloud, "Mr. flufflepuff. He never makes a different face." She reached up and started to pull at Thana's cheeks like she did the treats. her face was similar to...: P:
"Okay." Was all she simply said, "I can wait till you think I am ready then." She nodded, still playing with his cheeks. "Are you excited for Prom?"

"Mr Flufflepuff?" He echoed, raising an eyebrow in a questioning manner, "Ah, that minipet of yours with a face resembling O-W-O?" He vaguely remembered a minipet of hers with a ridiculous name, so that must be it... Unless she named all of her minipets something equally ridiculous.
"Oh? And wouldn't you be worried if I made a different face?" He laughed, taking her hands in his, and pulling them away from his face before letting her go; having his face pulled was almost a little too much for him to tolerate. In fact, it was bordering on annoying for him, "I would appreciate it if you don't do that again."
At the question, he paused, "I wouldn't call it excitement... But I am looking forward to it."

"Yes! No matter what I do, He never changes his face." She sighed, "It's a little unnerving but since its a cute expression..I suppose its okay." Her eyes widened as he drew her hands down, taking a small gulp and nodded.
"I would be a little worried I suppose, Since I am so use to the same face from you all the time..." She cocked her head, "Maybe it would be a good thing too. You've seen all my faces after all." She turned to stare at him and then cautiously nodded. It was a bit much of her to pull at him so, He was not her treat after all. And there was limitations to just what she could do to her treat, as opposed to doing it to a reaper. Even if she was her dearest friend.
"I apologize Thana." She offered, "I won't do it again." And she wouldn't to him. She paused again, then tug her hands free and nodded.
"I wonder how many dances...oh but then there is photo's and...I guess there will be lots of things...I hope I do not cause you distress by getting distracted..." She peered up at Thana and then looked away, "Will you have my first dance with me?"

"Perhaps you should draw on his face with a marker," Thanatos suggested with a grin, "Give him eyebrows... Among other things. It would give the illusion that his expression had changed."
Plus it would probably be pretty amusing.
"That is fine, just don't do it again," He replied, continuing down the path, gesturing for Amphi to follow, "All your faces? I'm sure you have more than that... In fact, I'm sure you'll make more faces in the future, faces you wouldn't even have thought you could make." Amphi had always struck him as an emotional person, and they were usually more expressive.
"You worry too much," He chuckled, shaking his head; he doubted that he would be distressed if she got distracted... Besides, if there were as many things to do during prom as there were during Scarentines', he couldn't exactly blame her for getting distracted. The ghoul's question caused him to chuckle again, "Naturally." They are each other's dates, after all.

"That sounds like..." She paused, "wonderful idea..." She whispered, her eyes widening. "And I can give him ANY shape of eyebrows! Even the big burly ones!!" She laughed, thinking of her treat with big busy eyebrows and that O w O face. Just...amazing.
"All of them!" She nodded seriously then, "Oh though...yes that's true too...I bet I would make lots of silly faces." She sighed, "One day though, I think it would be better if I wasn't so expressive. It won't be good if I become a leader of the clan or something..." She started to mumble off to herself.
Blinking, she looked up at him, brought back from her train of thought. "I worry because I want you to have a good time too..." At least she hoped he would have a good time with her. Though why those thoughts matter...she didn't know. "Thank you. I'll make sure not to step on your toes." She waggled her eyebrows at him. "Well, Thank you for spending some time with me Thana." She flushed, placing her hand on his arm to give him a squeeze. "I can't wait for Prom now even more, it doesn't feel like its coming soon enough!"

"Or a unibrow," Thanatos chipped in with a soft chuckle; he didn't like that OwO-minipet very much, so this was definitely in his favor. He paused, eyeing the mermaid, his expression neutral before he placed a hand on her head, gently pushing it down so that she would be facing the ground, "Just be yourself, even if it means making silly faces. I'm sure that is enough, my little mermaid."
He removed his hand, and if she looked up then, he would be grinning, looking very much like his usual self even if he sounded almost solemn a moment ago.
"I will have a good time even if you step on my toes, I am sure," He replied, bursting into laughter when she waggled her eyebrows at him. He patted her on the back of the hand on his arm, "You're welcome. Besides, I couldn't keep you away even if I wanted to." He was obviously just teasing though, as the grin on his lips widened.
And then he saw her home first, before heading back himself, because that was the natural thing to do.
