Shun furrowed his brow as he felt the trees, frowning lightly as they didn't particularly feel normal.
"Doubt it. They're full of holes," he said, feeling for a hole big enough for him to stick his hand into. Maybe there was something inside?

Inside the hole, once Shun got his hand through, were bugs. Lots, and lots of bugs.

That was not a particularly pleasant feeling. Sticking one's hand into a hole full of something. Things were skittering all over his hand, crawling around. Oh Jack, it was full of bugs. At least he wasn't getting bit, but the urge to just pull his hand out quickly was there. Twitching, he grimaced and carefully tried to pull some of the insects out.
"...There's bugs in them too," he uttered, not sounding too pleased.

The choice to pull out would have left the bugs undisturbed. But because Shun was so rudely disturbing their sleep, he would be blinded by the sudden light source as several dozen scareflies took to the air, lighting up alternately as they attempted to flee from the intruder. It was a beautiful sight, and their on and off lighting continually illuminated the lush forest around them for a moment, before falling back into darkness in the next.

Holey trees! As Shun mentioned the openings, Levi's fingers found there way inches away from another opening. There was a slight suspicion that something inside might try to gnaw at her fingers, but the tatzel didn't really have many options. The trees were different. Surely there was some reason for this.
And then she didn't have to; the reason was provided by an already prodding Shun.
What do ya suppose- bugs? Yep, bugs. Soon after mentioning, a cast of scare flies whizzing through the air, illuminating the area momentarily. As soon as it kicked in that they might disappear, Levi cupped her hands through the beam of light critters, hoping to catch some to keep around.

"Kusssooo!" Shun hissed as suddenly he was being blinded by dozens of lights flashing in his face right now. Oh. There was their lightsource. Shaking his head and trying to see after the lights faded a bit, he looked around to see the scareflies drifting through the forest. As with Levi, he attempted to try and catch one with his hands.

The scareflies were too fast for the two unprepared students. Each one slipped through their fingers, giggling as they skittered away, leaving a trail of tiny lightbulbs to filter through the ceiling of leaves until they finally disappeared.
And then the two were left in darkness once more. Quote: So you've found a lightsource, but they seem quite slippery. You'll have to figure out a way to keep them without catching them in your hands.. and you'll have to find some more, of course. Not that there's a lack of trees in the area..

No luck 'ere. But- stand ta'thinkin' there's more in them trees. There were more of the same hole-filled trees as was seen through their brief window of light.
But how to contain them? They were terribly fast and that had to be saying something given the two were quite quick. Need a plan, I reckon. How could they catch something that fast. They did know where they can out of when agitated. Some sorta'~ trap? It would prove difficult building something given they couldn't see in front of them.

Shun hissed lightly as they both seemed to fail to catch the bugs. He thought carefully, considering Levi's idea. A trap could potentially work.. maybe. Set something up like a scarefari trap perhaps.
"Maybe. Check the ground for things we can work with," he said as he crouched down, feeling around for materials or.. anything really.

Shun jumped back as he wasn't expecting the ghost to be there.
"Jacking hell why are you on the ground?" he grumbled before straightening up. Then, shaking his head, he straightened up and removed his jacket. Maybe he could use it as a sort of makeshift snare. If not... perhaps he could use one of his shoes.

"Clothing, huh?" The ghost completely ignored his question and commenting on his new method. "Don't think that would work very well if you found yourself naked."
...
Thankfully, Shun did not find himself naked. It was the thought that counted.
"I'll give you a hint. Just this once! If you find yourself stumped.. just do what I would do."
That was.. a terrible hint.

Shun just stared down at where the voice was coming from. Why the jack would he suddenly find himself naked? Shaking his head he bundled up his jacket while thinking on that... hint Noland gave. What would a hungry ghost do? Possibly try to eat the mini. That wasn't really something he was wiling to try. He did say the word 'stump' though, which could potentially be a hint in itself. Perhaps there was a treestump around here? Or maybe they needed to cut down a tree.
"Any ideas, Levi?"

Are we... inside it? Seemed like a fair enough question given Noland had been the floor Shun was inspecting.
If it was the sort of ghost she heard of, it had an appetite. Appetite meant it liked to consume things. Was Noland suggesting they...
I think we're 'supposed ta'eat 'em. Scratching the back of her head, Levi considered this option. If roasted skitter legs would do, she saw nothing against eating one of those scareflies.

"That'd explain why it's so damn dark," Shun murmured. He hoped they weren't inside the ghost's belly. But at this point they had a task to complete.
"Well. You're free to try and do just that. I don't think snapping at them will be much use... unless you try putting your mouth up to the hole and wait for them to fly in."
