The dog had unfortunately gone over to its intended 'new owner', carefully investigating the remaining mud on Now's hooves. As the call came, he tilted his head back with a happy puppy face.
"Oh hey," she said, tapping her leg on blue fur - her tone was amused, and a little smug. "He likes me. Haha, how's that?"

The incredulous look of betrayal upon her face would have been heartbreaking to behold if it weren't for the fact that the rage was still distorting it in funny ways. But, perhaps better than anyone, she knew...once a dog had chosen its owner, it was a sin to wrest it away. This pup was lost to her.

That froze her in her steps. "You...don't even know - my NAME?!?!?!" Finally, her decibel count had reached the level of harpy. "My NAME is RED-STAINED BLOSSOM, AND YOU'D BETTER REMEMBER THAT - WITCH!!!" And then, as she had threatened three posts steps ago, she was gone, flown away through the swamplands like a filly spurned.

" Red-stained Blossom, huh?" She mused, watching her rump disappear, and wryly patted the dog. " Anyways." " Arf," the pup said, and rolled onto its back. END
