My school decided to have a man come in and talk about a group called PFLAG (Parents, Families, & Friends of Lesbians and Gays) And then recently I've been told a gay couple cannot go to prom together.. I honestly do not know what to think of it, considering I have multiple friends who are gay and myself who is bisexual. Yet, I don't know what to do about it.

Dancehall Hysteria true, but apparently all they do is pretty much sit around and talk. :/ So? Some GSA's are like that- if there is a safe place for people to talk then what's the harm?

My high-school never had one. It was a pretty small school, so I don't think there were really enough people to support a GSA. My university didn't have one either.

My colleges GSA (Hartwick Idenity Alliance) is so awesome we do so much stuff that you could deffinitely do most of it in a high school too...
Monthly movies (out in silence is so good I highly recomend it) Bi-popular demand and gay answers to straight questions (I can explain it if you ask) World AIDS day we handed out plaind condoms and ribbons on national coming out day we paint a door with our stories and we put it next to the cafeteria Transgendered remeberence day we made gravestones Every year we have pride week this year we had a second chance prom blaugh as well as a take back the night We go to conferences we have panel discussions safe-space training In club space training designed for the LGBTQ communinty national day of silence and meetings every week where we have an open forum style meeting and end in games biggrin

My school is getting a GSA at the beginning of the school year! I've already joined, but I'm kinda nervous. People around where are I live are very... ignorant, to put it nicely. You guys who live in more accepting areas are so lucky! whee
