"Ah, yeah." Well, at least he couldn't flush red from embarrassment, not so she'd see, anyway.
"I just...yeah. I won't do that again. I'll come see you every day? Unless a lioness is...well." That was a little uncomfortable for him, but only because he was male, and had no idea what a lioness went through to give birth. It was unknown to him.
"That's a promise."

Every day? That was...that was something she'd give up a great deal for. And he offered it freely! She wanted to smile as he trailed off as he indicated that he of course wouldn't interfere with her duties as Midwife. But somehow she was still locked in that peculiar moment of surprise and love.
"A real promise?" Caritas asked, voice breathy in anticipation.

"Yes," he said, feeling the urge to steop much closer to her. To help reassure her that while he was stumbling through this level of their courtship, he was serious. So, he gave her a soft nuzzle.
His stomach flipped a bit, feeling excited and nervous all at the same time. She seemed...very much in tune with how he felt, so he figured that she wouldn't mind a little soft contact.

Caritas sighed in near-bliss as Ukarimu came right up and nuzzled her, the most physical sign of affection he'd ever given her. No, she wasn't going to give up on him, not after this. Maybe she'd just...introduce him to some other pride members. Ones who were much better at picking up hints. And who were likely to try and help him "win her over."
Then again, staying right here, like this, was pretty attractive too. The lioness nuzzled the lion in return.
The rest of the world could wait, at least for a little while.
