Tristain had always thought that the common flush of blood to her pale, ivory-colored cheeks was only a result of Jayden's presence, but seeing as he wasn't even at the dance yet, she couldn't see how that was true.
Clad in her black and gold feathery mask, she paced patiently along the edge of the dance floor, her feathery black dress swaying with her movement and her black and gold heels clicking rhythmically against the marble floor. It was one of the few times she had ever even warn a dress, and she couldn't help but be a bit self-conscious.
To distract herself, she kept her eyes on the entrance to the ball, watching as students continuously filed in, wondering if any of the faces under the masks belonged to Jayden. Cathryn Rose O'Malley 13 Years Old┽Third Year┽Ravenclaw┽Seeker Hopeful┽ Taken by Chase Balford ▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄ Silvery white heels clicked on the polished wood floor as the young red head swept into the ball room. She felt positively beautiful, her blue and white moon and stars theme sparkling in the glowing light. Her royal blue gown perfectly accented her growing female form, simply curving around her waist, and ending just low enough to hint at a maturing chest. Her hair was tied up, messy but elegant. Moons and stars adorned her hand, ears and neck, going along with her mask. Midnight black eyes, reminiscent of a dark cave and surrounded by a night sky, swept the length of the room, taking in every detail. Few people had arrived so far, and only two couples flirted with one another. Idly, Cathryn, as she would be called tonight, wondered where her beau might be. They did not have a chance to discuss the ball yet, but she assumed he would be going. And if he did not show, then she would have fun by herself. She glanced around the room, searching for a familiar form to chat with. She spotted a tall but stocky boy, hidden in one corner of the room. Tay. She would know him anywhere. Thoughts of their last dance flooded back to her. She pushed them away. Now was not the time to be concerned with what had been. She searched again, this time landing on a blonde boy hidden behind a golden mask. Devin Cloud sat at a table, sipping the sweet punch. Sweeping elegantly towards him, she stood next to his table. "Hiding in a lonely corner, I see. You seem like you could use some company. Mind if I join you?" she said sweetly. If he did not recognize her immediately , her thick Irish accent would give her away. Cathryn did not ask about Annabelle, rather wanting to discuss something other then her ex-crush's girlfriend. She simply wanted to talk as the good friends they are. ▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄ ╔══════════════╗ Injuries/Illnesses: ------ Out of character: ------ ╚══════════════╝

Leonidas Henry ReedlingFirst Year Slytherin He watched as her long braid flipped over her shoulder then went back to it's original position and as her lovely face broke into a smile. But it seemed slightly forced. She seemed uneasy. He frowned. Perhaps she felt out of place. Perhaps she was not used to dances, as he was. Fortunately, he knew what to do. He had been attending balls such as this since he could walk. Gently, he placed his lips to her hand. "Amanda, I must say, you look positively lovely tonight." He had transformed, and he knew it. Until now, everyone had only seen the shy, stuttering, nervous boy he usually was. But the first eight years of his life came back to him and he changed into the high-class young man he had been. He owned this ball, and he knew it. His voice changed from stuttering and to the confident drawl he formerly had. His posture had gone from ducked to tall and regale. Here, among fancy clothing and concealing masks, he could be who he was, rather then the meek street orphan, without anyone noticing. He felt comfortable, at home. Tomorrow he would revert back to his usual self, but behind this mask, he could truly shine. He straightened out of his bow, still holding Amanda's hand, and guided her farther out onto the floor. "Care to dance? I'm quite good at it." He smiled a charming smile at her, hoping she would say yes.Age:11 | Relationship Status:Single | Injuries/Illnesses: None

☠ Amanda Davis ☠ First Year: Slytherin You Touch Me..I break you.Leonidas' manners didn't help Amanda feel less nervous. In fact, this only made Amanda feel worse as she came to a realization. He's rich. When he finds out I'm not, he won't want anything to do with me, she thought, biting her lip while Leonidas asked her to dance with him. "Sure," she agreed, knowing she wasn't half bad at dancing. wearing

WHERE am I? Masquerade Ball HOW am I feeling? Hopeful WHO am I with? The staff and students of Hogwarts With an indifferent expression that was shrouded by the most plain mask that he had managed to find at the masking table, Aiden wandered into the ball room, his hands in the pockets of his black slacks that he wore with a plain white dress shirt and solid black tie. He had hoped to see one of his favorite ladies here, namely Katariina, but with the parade of masks that surrounded him, he wouldn't have a chance at finding her even if she were in attendance.
As the caretaker, of course Aiden had some sort of duty to serve by attending the ball, but duty was the last thing on his mind as he made his way to the long table of food and drinks that was hiding in the far corner. “Be not afraid of greatness; some are born great, some achieve greatness, and others have greatness thrust upon them.”- William Shakespeare

As words were spoken towards his general direction the White Fox turned to see another girl sporting a dress much the same style of the one he was now attempting to speak to, just in a different color. The likely connection was easily made and by the tone in the girls voice it sounded like one of protection and curiosity. It was a enjoyable sight to see and hear, knowing that the shy girl he was attempting to talk to did in fact have someone who wished to see her protected. "Hello, I was trying to engage this lovely young lady in discussion about her choice to enjoy this particular spot in the room," his voice was deep but also sharp, or was it high and low at the same time, "I trust by your similar appearance you are acquainted with this young lady?" again the voice almost seemed more like a combination of multiple voices rather than just one. With a quick glance around the White Fox could see many eyes scanning the room. Some seemed to fall on him for a moment but none were of the two he had meet in the garden, none from those who would have known his appearance. Several notable figures did catch his eye and he would need to make a point to engage them in conversation and see how they fit into the world that was this school.

Jayden Michael Cloud Mood: Entertained What I am doing: Surprising Tristain What I want to be doing: Nothing else Jayden snuck behind Tristain without her seeing him. He came up behind her, the only thing about him that would be recognizable was the forest green eyes and the voice, one of them being easy to cover. He smiled before he leaned in, whispering into her ear.
"Ciao Tristania, sei bellissima. La tua bellezza risplende piu luminosa anche la stella del nord, " he whispered into her ear, knowing that at first she would be shocked, but she will instantly know who he was due to his distinct eye color. And once she knew who he was, the easier it would be to explain why he did it. He tried to keep himself from laughing, but it was almost unbearable. He chuckled to himself momentarily, waiting for his laughter to almost overwhelm him.

Austin led the way into the ballroom, his hand held tight in Jinhai's. He took his hand and smiled as he looked over at the other boy. "Let's dance." he said as he placed his arms around Jin's waist. He smiled and gazed into the chocolate eyes of his love. he is so cute. he thought as he looked at his boyfriend. Mask

Just as Tristain had thought she might've spotted Jayden across the room, a velvety voice--confusing, yet so familiar--ran goosebumps down her neck. Spinning around, she took a step back as a first reaction to the masked person who stood before her. However, it was less than two seconds before something even more familiar than the voice stood out to her.
"Jayden?" She asked in bewilderment after recognizing the boy's breath-taking, forest green eyes. "Wow, I barely recognized you. Lovely mask, by the way," she complimented, raising her eyebrows once she remembered that the words that had left his lips were so foreign to her.
"Was that Italian you were speaking? What did you say to me?" The questions left her lips before she had time to think about them, with even more sneaking up behind. phinelia von ichval fourth year - ravenclaw captain - ravenclaw quidditch teamhermes▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ ▬▬▬▬▬▬ ▬▬“In the country of the blind, the one-eyed man is king.” – Desiderius Erasmus “The haft of the arrow had been feathered with one of the eagle’s own plumes. We often give our enemies the means of our own destruction.” – Aesop “There is only one good, knowledge, and one evil, ignorance.” – Socrates “If the brain were so simple we could understand it, we would be so simple we couldn’t.” – Lyall Watson ╔══════════════════╗ Thoughts were as quick to consume her senses as they always were regardless of the colourful and extravagant sights of the company dancing tongues of fire around her. Peacocks flashing their most colourful dresses and more elaborately decorated masks. Birds, play things and orchestrated sights that she found herself not wanted to look at. Her eyes grew tired of the sensory overload too quickly so her mind evacuated to her thoughts and musings and the one hand pressed against the wall traced each detail of the wallpaper and maple trimming. The other hung loose at her side and swung unknowingly to the tune of the light music that no one seemed aware of but everyone was responding to. In such a haze, did the rough but completely familiar hand find her's, that a heart beat passed in oblivion before she gasped and emerged from her half-slumber of deep daydreams to stare up at the tall figure who found his way to her in utter discretion. "Colton," she breathed and no will offered to the containment of the brilliant smile that spread on her face like wildfire. Smiling with old shyness but shinning with every newly acquired mannerism as the "Thank you, you look perfect," burst from her before she could filter the entirety of the thought. However once it was out, she found herself wanting him to know it rather than have it hidden in her mind and speaking eyes. The kiss took her by surprise and just as his finger titled her into the familiar angle and his lips drew closer, she pressed herself into it. Longing the touch of his lips and greedily taking it at his offer. Parting and grasping another before she stood back and smiled, "You are just on time." with a squeeze of his fingers and a slide closer to his side. Touching their elbows and shoulders and allowing her head to just brush against him in vulnerable need for contact. Comforting sensation of his presence and every desire to be by his side in every way that the action implied. "I don't really want to dance." she confessed, leaning against him now almost and taking everything in that he is. Wondering how she had managed not to be crushed by the longing for it all that she now felt when he was tangibly there. The smile never slipping of her lips and eyes. "I never wanted to dance."╚══════════════════╝

Tyler wandered through the crowd, his eyes behind his mask searching for Aerrynn McKenny. He sighed as he looked for her, growing tired of seeing all these masked people he did not recognize. "Aerrynn, where are you?" he said as he turned on the spot, searching. I hope I find her soon. he thought. Mask

Leonidas Henry ReedlingFirst Year Slytherin As if on cue, the music changed to a fast-paced waltz, Leonidas' specialty. He hadn't danced since he had been disowned, but dancing had been drilled into him, and three years would make no difference. He took her right hand in his left, placed his right around her waist, and together they started to twirl around the room, left-right-right, right-left-left, one-two-three, one-two-three. The years of living and stealing on the streets melted away as the two masked blondes floated around the ball room. They were the only ones dancing, but it did not matter. 'Look at me know, Zeus Reedling.' Leo thought smugly to his "father". After a little while of dancing, Leo dared look down at the beauty he held in his hand. She seemed even more tense then she had before. "Amanda, is something wrong? Do you not like dancing?" he asked worriedly. He hoped nothing was wrong. Perhaps she didn't like being the only ones dancing. Perhaps she was tired. Maybe she was thrown off by his sudden change in manner. Was it really that obvious? He didn't know, but was worried about her all the same.Age:11 | Relationship Status:Single | Injuries/Illnesses: None

Jayden Michael Cloud Mood: Ecstatic What I am doing: Charming her What I want to be doing: What else would I want to do? Jayden watched as she took that step back, really understanding why she did so. Who wouldn't? Someone just whispered Italian into her ears, and Jayden was not Italian; so he could imagine what the whisper felt like. He then looked into her eyes, meeting her gaze. He wanted to tell her what it meant to her eyes and face.
"Hello Tristain, you look beautiful. Your beauty shines brighter than even the star of the North'," he told her, smiling down at her, the two still in eye contact. He had maintained the eye contact throughout the whole quote, making sure she understood exactly what she meant. The girl looked beautiful, like she always did, but he wanted her to know she did.
"That is what I just said Tristain," he admitted, a half smirk on his face. Even though all of his face was obscure, his lips weren't; so she could obviously see his little smirk.

With a stomach of excitment Clare entered into the large ball room. Her soft blonde hair was up in a simple but beautiful style, her mask was fitted on her face. As she walked through the room her purple shoes clanked as they touched the group, and her purple dress swayed behind her. She was hoping to fin Adair in the big group of students.
Her pale blue eyes stood out from the black mask fitted on her face.
