Aleister was standing there with a brow lofted watching Dwight. When the man offered the price Aleister looked at him and then looked at the gameboy before looking back to Dwight.
"Are you nuts? That's three times what I paid for it!" He said as his arms crossed, He didn't know much about whatever, Dwight did to fix things but surely it wasn't worth paying three times more than the cost of the system. He was rubbing the back of his head, "Maybe this was a bad idea syd." He said looking back at her.

"Yeah," Syd agreed. "I mean, it would be awesome if it could be fixed, but at that cost," she said, reaching for the game. "And I really wanted to try playing pokemon," she added with a sad little sigh. "I guess we could get another one on a shopping trip, maybe?"

Shaking his head sadly, "That's a shame. But hey, a new Gameboy's screen can last a good month of use." He scratched his head and gave them a doubtful look, "You get paid once a month, right? So it's not like you won't be able to afford continuously replacing it. Anyway, was there anything else that I can do..." his attention shifted to Syd, and he purred out, "...for you?"

"Yeah a shopping tri---- Woah...... wait...." Aleister stared at Dwight in disbelief, ".... what do you mean by last a month?" He made a slight face at that comment, surely a new one wouldn't die that quickly. This one he'd had forever, it was totally logical for it to have died. It was old, he'd taken care of it and nothing lasted forever... but a month. Mannn someone either had some explaining to do or Dwight was pulling his leg.
He paused when the other hunter's attention shifted to Syd. He looked between the two before stepping a little more in front of Syd, unsure of what Dwight had in mind. However, he wasn't about to let the other hunter any closer to Syd after she had hid behind him...
<... Why is this the moment you choose to grow a pair? Instead of growing a pair when you're in a battle with monsters. In which might I remind you, you have to convince yourself are these silly things called pokemon.> Pookie seemed completely baffled by the fact Aleister was willing to try and protect Syd, for jack knows what reason. When he would happily run screaming away from monsters. <You gotta get your priorities in line kid....>
Aleister tried not to show irritation at the puca's comments as he continued to stand there unless Syd otherwise told him to move it. <He's totally making her uncomfortable. She'd do the same for me if we were in some weird reversed situation....>

"Wait..." Syd said, forgetting her feeling of discomfort as her mind started working. "Working for a month? You mean... does everything break on this island?" she asked. "I mean, there's runic symbols on practically everything--including the vending machines, right? So..." Well... that sucked. "How much would it cost to fix an old, screenless CD player?" she asked reluctantly.

Dwight leaned in the doorway to look extra cool and sua-vey for Syd, "Screens are the big issue, the island's FEAR shields and barriers warp them pretty quickly. If there's no screen, you just need someone to install a runic battery and tweak the device to handle it since out generator's don't run AC or DC. A lot cheaper than something with a screen, like say...you know, a nice dinner for two?"

"I haven't heard whether the kitchen was fixed or not, but I would be happy to cook for you and your date," Syd said, deliberately misunderstanding what he was asking for. "You might tell me what sort of food you like so I can get supplies."

Aleister watched as Syd spoke about cooking for Dwight's date. He turned around to look at her Pookie having been summoned at some point. The death hunter was tossing the ball and catching it in one hand out of boredom.
"Do you think it's worth 300?" He was looking at the gaming device. "I'm pretty sure that's almost my whole check for a month...." He sighed, "And I still have to get my room fixed...."
He had more than that but the point of it was, that still sounded like a nuts price to him. He wasn't bothering talking where Dwight couldn't hear him either. "I don't know if that'd fix it so I ended up staying in your room longer or not. Since I don't know the cost of getting a stupid bust pipe fixed around here, much less new furniture and bedding and clothes."
He sighed, "I hardly doubt Dues is going to pay for repairs when I didn't break all this stuff."

"I'm thinking naked sushi would be..." Dwight's suggestion trailed off as Aleister whined. He was going to point out that it wasn't really his problem, when the trainee mentioned that he was staying in Syd's room. The Life hunter's eyebrows shot up, and his grin widened, "Tell you what, for six hundred I'll upgrade three screened devices for you. You may have to stay with the lady a little bit longer, but I'm sure you guys can work things out."
Just this once Dwight had decided to be a bro and let the little blonde dude have more roomie-time with the honey.

"That's extremely generous of you," Syd said, taking it before poor Al could even decide. "He'll do it," she added. "Thank you, Dwight! Um, we'll bring the things by as soon as we can, okay?"
Then she grabbed Al's arm, trying to tug him away. She had a plan, and him speaking up could easily ruin it. "It's really okay, Aleister, we've done okay as roommates so far, right?" she added, tugging. More tugging. Got to get away from the strange guy in the really weird outfit, thank you.

Aleister was about to say something when Dwight seemed to change his mind and then Syd accepted..... It seems his gameboy was left in the hands of the a crazyman as the death trainee was dragged off.
Al was dragged off mouth hanging open trying to gather his thoughts... When they were away from Dwight Al shook his head and closed his eyes. "Syd.... where are we going to find two more screened items?"Lizbot Ali says bye Dwight take good care of yellow. ;;

"We're going to offer to sell the spots to other hunters," Syd told him, leaning closer to whisper her play. "Then you can use that money to go shopping for new things for your room, maybe even a plumber," she told him. "Come on, let's go see how much we can get!"
Then she tugged him away to find other hunters.
