When she was certain that she had pumped the last of the lake water from Arel (or to be more accurate, as much as she could get out), Red hopped up on the table and sat down on it. She snatched another twoer from Marleth as he walked past her. But it was too late: the room had already begun to smell like wet dog and wet insert-the-specie-of-your-student-here. The demons and reapers in the room were probably considering opening a window around now.

"Hold it," Red ordered as she held up her hand, palm facing outwards to still the chatter. "Let's recap."

"First off, there's a trail of blood. That lead to the library, to a hidden key, which revealed a hallway with a giant squid. Beyond that? A lake. A lake with dusty rocks and treasure. And let's not forget the creepy voices."

Red slid off the table and began to pace back and forth. "I don't like it. That treasure was put away for a reason. It was guarded and locked away and forgotten. I doubt it's going to be someone's stash. Where are the traps? It was all right there out in the open. It was too easy. I smell a trap and I don't like it."

The werewolf stopped and stared at them. "My vote? We tell no one. We go back there prepared for anything and we investigate. There's something going on there, and considering it was under lock and key in Amityville? I wouldn't trust anyone else but us. There's something going on, and I intend to find out what."

"The adults'll just lock it up and punish us for looking at it anyways." d**k added, "Better to investigate ourselves." he fully agreed with his captain.

Cricket was quite naturally on Red's side on this front. "The whole thing is highly suspicious." including Cricket's hated water, "What bothers me is that whoever bled all the way there wasn't there when we got there." At least, not that Cricket had noticed while slowly killing Arel.

"I'll go to function as a healer for the group...." she looked at all of the Defenders with a sigh. At least one of them had to be healing too, right? RIGHT? SHE WASN'T IN CHARGE OF EVERYONE, RIGHT???? Because if so, she was going to end up neglecting...

Right now, Vel couldn't really think what the exact issue with the treasure or that place might be. It did seem odd and fishy, but she just couldn't think of what that danger was. And as much as she agreed with Red on going to investigate, there was one small issue.

"What about the others? I wouldn't be surprised if one of them ends up blabbing. Chances are that someone already has."

"Yer welcome by the way Wolf." He chuckled as Red snatched one of the many towels tangled on his arms and smaller back wings. Tugging over a chair he sat down off to the side of the desk watching everyone while running a towel in his hands over a few damp spots of flesh randomly.

"Well lil Wolf, I'm all for going back." He shrugged, "The money would be good for ahh fixin' up some of the stuff we wrecked..." He chuckled quietly, lots of memories of how things got broken around this place. "Still you're right, it ain't safe. Kraken thing could come back too." He shrugged, "Doesn't seem like a problem for us. We ain't defenders for nothing."

Shifting he pointed towards Vel, "Hell'ova point. All the more reason to haul back and get whats good."

"Adults? Aw, spookie, we're adults,"
Moira said with a knowing grin and a thumbs-up. "Some piece of paper isn't gonna make us grown up. It's experience, and we already got a bunch of it! Let's go for it!"

Arel had finally zoned back into consciousness only to hear Moira shout rather enthusiastically that they were adults. He briefly wondered if he should be pretending he was unconscious again, that was, until the ice demon noted the surroundings.

Oh, they were back at the Defenders "HQ". He should probably be taking notes on the meeting or something. Almost methodically, Arel wobbled a little over to the general vicinity of where Red and Cricket was and searched for his meeting agenda notebook. It took only a little longer to find it as he wobbled back onto the ground to sit down - hard.

"Um." He interrupted, actually having not much of a clue of what the meeting was about. "Are we discussing," he flipped through his agenda to the last thing written in chickenscratch, "TPing Hellma's Office again?"

Why did they need an adult?

The golem uncrossed her arms and fist pumped the air energetically. "Moira's got it down! I say we prep ourselves as fast as possible and tackle whatever's down there before someone else can blab about it." Typical Callie with her "beat the bad guys into submission" tactic, if tactic meant "vaguest plan ever". But then, the golem wasn't much of a thinker and more of a reactor, and cleary something was going down that they had to react to, and fast.

.... OH YEAH.

So they were.

"That's true!" d**k seemed to have caught up and been converted in a heartbeat by Moira's words. "Then we better get investigatin' the place soon, eh?"

At the sight of Malcolm, Bee hopped from Taru's lap and went to snuggle up to his ankles. It was clear who his new favorite was.

Trying her best to not be a little jealous, she focused on the topic at hand instead.

"Seems odd that they wouldn't've come back for their key, too. I mean, keepin' something like that all locked up, something that important....um, it just. Well, you know. Why would you leave it all open and stuff? Reeks as high as the pumpkin sun that it's not right."

She shifted in her seat and nodded in agreement. "We gotta take care of this ourselves. I think they'll be more fixed on punishing us and takin' all the evidence than doing anything about it. And then they won't tell us. I'm not up for that."

"Did anyone manage to sneak any of it out?" Malcolm asked, frowning as he shrugged, "The gold, I mean. Hidden away underground, piled up under water that isn't normal, guarded by a giant squid... I'm amazed it's not cursed or something."

He then paused.

"I'm with Moira and Taru on this one," He nodded, blinking at the minipet. Oh no a minipet. ItwasgoingtoblowhisJackingcover- Minipet. He pokerfaced, picking Bee up, and putting him on his lap, giving him all the pets and affection, "The school doesn't treat us like adults. Not while we're still undergraduates... Maybe we should have taken the key."

Vel smirked at Callie.

"Fair enough. That sounds like a pretty solid plan to me," she said. She still had a feeling they'd be running into some stragglers and whatnot down there but none of them should be too much of a problem should issues arise.

"We better get working on it fast too. I can see Screamers getting in our way," she started before looking towards Arel. Oh hey! He was awake again.

"Nah. Something bigger. Red wants to check out the lake in more detail. Defender's style."

Glancing over towards Malcolm, the Raptor reached into her pocket and pulled out a shiny gem. She didn't take much but she had the compulsion to at least take a handful.

"Couldn't resist," she smirked.

Entering!

Avery entered the dorm and immediately claimed a spot against the wall. Leaning comfortably against it before he crossed his arms over his chest and watched.

The common room, which was surprisingly still intact, was already buzzing with chatter over their find of the day and everyone already seemed to have their own theory about it. Well, for the most part anyways. But since Avery hadn't really found anything unusual other than the large glowing crystal beneath them and the etchings on the wall, he decided it was probably better to listen. Maybe see what the others thought of it all and how they were going to deal with it. Which was more than likely going to be the 'usual way.'

Entering

Norvie had been to a few Defenders meetings before. He wasn't sure if he agreed with anything that went on in those meetings but... they were important to Moira, and he had always figured that if he showed up, maybe it would... impress her? Something like that.

Tonight had a particularly uncomfortable edge to it, though. He was panting as he finally caught up with everyone, hovering at the back with the lone-wolf-wall-leaners before he spotted the familiar head crab amongst those seated.

No chairs open nearby... damn. He glanced to Avery before trying to assume a similarly cool-and-collected position against the wall as well, his lips pursed about his teeth as he listened to Red's heated recap.

He tried to think about it rationally... blood, a secret room, guarded by that horrible creature...

"It... it just seems to me there might have been a dispute over the school's er... secret funds?" He ventured, "I'm not sure if... if action is really necessary, is it?" See, he was actively playing a part. He glanced to the zombie ghoul to see if she had heard him. And if they did decide to do something about all of this... what could they possibly do? Go to the head master? This close to graduation, they really aught to be considering making it through the school year, not possibly getting in trouble over something that was none of their concerns.

Oh, so they weren't talking about the TPing though, okay, that explained the entire adult situation a bit better. Arel sighed, and started a fresh page. What a waste of paper. He began to draw foxfires all over the top of the page as the other members of Defenders fluctuated between hitting all of the things and thankfully, following Red's hopefully sensible advice (except for Wedgie Webdays, just why.... merciful Jack).

At Vel's reveal of the sizeable treasure from the lake, Arel's eyes went as wide as saucers. "Wait, what are you doing with that!" He nearly dropped everything perched precariously on his lap. "Y-you don't know where it's been!"

It probably hadn't occured to him yet that they were actually discussing looting the treasure.
