Despite the effort the majority of the student body was putting into their tables, the behemoth leaned back in his chair. Feet on the table and arms crossed over his chest. Had he put any effort into his table? No. In fact, even the white sheet that covered it was now marred by the mud that came off his boots.
It would do.
Normally he wasn't such a grump, but festivities had never been his thing. The fact that he had no idea of what career to choose after he graduated didn't help matters much. To him this festival was merely a reminder of that.
This Jacking sucked.

Arcana gave his sister a pointed stare before taking a breath, seating himself behind the table.
"Um...Hello!" He called shyly out to some of the passerby's, "Do you want to see your future? A hint to your goal? Perhaps something of...of..um...Love?" He blushed at the last mention of fortune.
He thought of Selene for a brief moment, looking over at her booth as his blush deepened. Apparently that caught the attention of some of the more excitable ghouls.

Tarot smiled back at Arcana as she slid into her own seat. She shuffled the cards of her deck. While the ghoul should have been attempting to talk to the passerbyers, she instead found herself observing her brother’s progress instead. The reaper knew she shouldn’t have, but she adored her twin too much. She had to see how well he would do on his own. A smile tugged at her lips at the mention of love. She giggled and continued to watch.
And did nothing else. She just watched.

She didn't want to set up a table. She really didn't. Sure, this was the 'fun' stuff after Graduation, but she seriously didn't want to do any of this. What were her life skills again?
Oh right, she could heal someone to hell and back. She hoped. Oh man, couldn't she just continue her apprenticeship for another couple of years and not worry about the set up?
HnnNNnnnggghhhwhinewhine. She could have whined for eternity, even as she made a point of moving from point A to point B dramatically. She just had to set it up for one day, maybe get a prospective job lined up, impress a handful of people, see what happened. As it stood, she had herself set up for two different things: 1 - document the research she'd done into FEARhealing already. 2 - Probably patch up all the idiots who would get themselves hurt.
It sounded like a sturdy plan to her as she set the light colored cloth over the already set out white one, bringing over several notebooks, a few contact cards, and what looked like a first aid kit which she set out on the edge of her table with a knowing look on her face.
She also made sure to tuck a pair of gloves into her box.
Behind the notebooks was a rather nice looking display documenting several working heals that were not the standard norm and could be used by those who were not proficient in the current ways of FEARhealing. Most of them were pictures of her fixing up Red.

Jinhai was not really looking forward to dealing with the booths. For one thing, he was completely and utterly lacking in the artistic department, so the booth he set up was unbelievably plain, and rather dull, with simple to no decorations. For another thing, the Jack-o-Lantern was much too heavy and he was starting to feel slightly dizzy with the weight of it.
Thirdly, his lack of artistic talent equaled a really, really boring time.
...Jinhai wondered if maybe he should have thought this through a bit more.

The two eyes that peeped out from behind the booth glimmered with happiness when she heard Carafe coming closer, and she held one arm out, coaching the snake to come closer and wrap itself around the appendage. "Oh, hello Carafe. Should you not be supporting May?" She giggled, and her head ducked, disappearing completely from view to passerby's.
"Well, since you're here, I suppose you and I can have this booth together, yes? And we will call it the hissing booth, because it will mysteriously hiss. And no one will know where the hissing is coming from, because they cannot see us."
So she hissed. Was she a snake charmer?
Not in the slightest.

After setting up and getting all excited about it, May was a bit ... too excited. She was yelling at people to come learn about these IMPORTANT ISSUES THAT WOULD CHANGE THE HALLOWEEN ECOSYSTEM AS WE KNOW IT. Her fliers were shoved in people's faces and she was extremely adamant about ... well everything.
Needless to say, not a lot of people showed up.
Carafe gave one glance over at May and then gave Selene a look like "Really? you expect me to go over there?"
It seemed the little hissing booth joke had calmed her, so he too made a hissing noise, happy to be of service. He was already curling around her papers as they hissed.

Well at least people were coming to visit the booth? Even with his stuttering nonsense. Arcana could barely keep them at the booth though, his hands nervously shaking as people watched him do what he had been taught since the CRADLE.
He looked to his sister for help, wishing she would keep them their with savvy skills. She was much at this then he was after all.
"Tarot...cards are all about interpertation for um...the cards. Some have different meanings, some have a message-" He shifted in his seat as he talked to one of the customers.
After the many visits, he relaxed as he stared at the stack of cards that offered some kind of jobs. It wasn't a fat stack but it was....a nice one. He looked to his twin. "Break time?
He wanted to check on Selene.

His lack of an artistic, stylish booth notwithstanding, Jinhai spent the next several moments at least attempting to make himself look relatively presentable, if only to compensate for the rather dismal looking booth. He straightened his clothing, made sure his hair was neat and tidy, smoothed down the front of his tunic, made sure the cuffs on his black pants were folded nicely, and then stood straight - if not a little stiffly - waiting for the people to begin arriving.
Unfortunately for Jinhai, it seemed as though his booth were destined to be...well, not quite as up to par as some were. While the people were not outright avoiding his booth, he was getting quite a few hesitant, awkward smiles, some murmuring behind fingers, and some too-pleasant-too-actually-be-sincere nods, as well as a few sickly sweet compliments that made him scowl behind the Jack-o-Lantern.
I need to step up my game. What would my parents say?
Nothing good, that was for sure.

Quin had put time and effort into her booth. Okay that was a lie she did barely anything. Decorating was not her forte. It was too ghoully and prissy for her. Honestly who has the time?
Instead the vampire simply plopped some papers down highlighting her achievements. It was a resume of sorts for people to grab as they went. It showcased her fighting skills, her ability to craft survival items, and her charming personality. Who wouldn't be impressed by that?
Fanning out the sheets of paper Quin also set out some last minute, thrown together, business cards. It mostly just had a picture of her on the front and her information on the back. Hopefully no one got the wrong idea. Aside from that her Defenders badge was displayed proudly in the middle of the table. It was truly her greatest achievement she felt.
Taking a deep breath she turned to face the incoming traffic, hearing the gates open to allow access to the festival. Who would be the first for her to speak with?

Arcana was stumbling, which wasn’t good. The look her brother shot her was enough for Tarot to shift her seat until it was next to his. “Yes. The multiple meanings each card possesses make each reading unique, even when the hand dealt is the same.” She sat next to her brother, carefully eyeing the cards and then Arcana. Her expression was calm and observant while she watched him speak. When he stumbled or paused she would offer a few words or explanations before she turned around to grab her own deck. Tarot smiled at a passerby. “Hello, would you like to have your cards read?”
After a while, she leaned back in her seat and sighed, tired from all of the readings. “Hm?” Tarot looked over at Arcana, then at Selene’s booth. She smiled knowingly. “Sure.”

As for Cricket's presentation herself?
Cricket was not a charming individual. She tried to not frown, but instead it made her look like she was in pain. Anybody who had taken any classes with her knew she didn't want to socialize in big groups. She just wanted to rip the bandage off and call it good.
This wasn't working for her.
The displeased look on her face definitely outweighed how nicely she was dressed.

Selene and Carafe spent the entire time under the table, hissing. Several people stopped to try to figure out the source of the noise, but nobody seemed to care about the booth itself. And Selene received no job offers, but she did receive a present when someone left their drink on the table, mistaking it for the trash.
She did not like her present.

Honestly? May didn't get that many people. Not a lot of people were interested in learning about the tiny little beetles that were slowly dying out, or all 239,890 species that were endangered and dying.
However, the few people that she DID capture were captured for good. She had long conversation from a few professors from the nature school a few towns over, and that was good! She even got their cards!
Overall, from an outside view it was terrible, but May felt pretty damn accomplished. She told everyone about the horrors of deforestation, and even gave out some of her stickers!
"How're you doing Selene?" she asked. The poor ghoul hadn't made much of an effort on her booth, at least from what May could see. Mostly a stack of papers. Not even attempting to gather the crowds. Even Carafe couldn't make it look nice. May just hoped that Selene got a passing grade on this ...

Fifteen minutes later, and Jinhai's apparent "stepping up his game" ploy seemed to have worked wonders. The plain little booth was now crowded with people, all of them looking curious and interested in what he had to say - which was a first, Jinhai decided, as he straightened the Jack-O-Lantern on his head. Kato was just...well, Kato, Dis did nothing but flirt and think with a different part of his anatomy, and Brock...
...well, sometimes Jinhai wasn't even sure what to think of Brock, that was for certain. Kato was the one that actually tended to listen to him, even when he was spouting off obnoxious arguments every few moments - three years of being together had at least made Jinhai aware of this fact.
But now was not the time to reminisce, Jinhai thought, as he looked out across the throngs of people crowding around his obscure, boring booth. He cleared his throat and pushed one braid over his shoulder before starting to speak.
Perhaps he was doing something right after all.
