Virtus did not know much about the rules of fighting, honorably or not. All he knew was how to be a nice guy, and it seemed right to him to wait until his opponent got up before attacking.
He'd probably get out of that habit soon enough but for now it was a strong belief.
A swing and a miss. That was more the kind of fighting he was used to. He grunted as he pulled himself backwards, trying to regain his footing and get a better stance to attack again with. He frowned at the other, contemplating.
Maybe retreating was a better option? He'd been told to leave if he couldn't hit his opponent, and this seemed like a not-going-to-hit-him situation. He felt rude, though, contemplating running off.
He took a breath, then turned to run. It was just a better idea than sticking around and fighting someone who knew how to fight, and what he had been told to do if he thought he was in over his head. Maybe he was a bit quick to the draw, but he was still learning the balance. He'd figure it out one day.
