Seeking Librium As much as I would love to say this is shocking, the second I realized he was from the south any level of shock quickly disappeared. As a southern resident myself, let me paraphrase(and parody) the annoyingly durable mentality that exists in places such as where said preacher lives: Ahem *attempts southern accent* here' in tha south, we dunt 'preciate anyone or anythin' differen' then what our daddies n' preachers tell us was 'round when they were boys, 'cause if it wan't around for them, then obviously we dunt need it! So ya'll can take yer fancy idears like "equeilitay" and "high technolagey" back to them devil-worshipin' northern parts! I think I might have done that to well.... emo Yeah, I agree. As soon as I heard him talk I was all, "Oh... Southern dude... that explains everything." Not that everybody down there is like that. Honestly, I wouldn't expect that out of a preacher from the North, but the South is another story. But, it was still a bit shocking to me that any American would say something so extreme as "Kill the gays."

He's obviously an idiot and doesn't deserve the time of day, or for anyone to tell his story, or for us to discuss him, that kind of hate is only meant to cause pain because it is inspired by fear and ignorance

Come down to Houston sometime. Specifically the Montrose area, you'll find all of the people you're talking about. I'd like to think we have the biggest gay/equality-minded community in the South, but I could be wrong.

Meanwhile here in northern Georgia, you can get called all kinds of names for going to the liquor store on Sunday. Or going to the wrong church. Or talking to non-Christian people. Or not being a beer-obsessed idiot, even in high school. I am so glad I'm moving onto campus in fall.

Also, notice he says "homosexual lovers" (which I loosely translate from redneck to English as "gay marriage supporters") are also "baby killers" as if there is some sort of connection. Also, I can't believe anyone in that crowd would be able to take him seriously.

D: Yeah, well, I think people should be able to have guns as long as they don't hurt themselves or others with them. 3nodding When I think of Texas, I think of steak and cowboys, rather than rednecks and racism (Georgia). So, that state is alright with me.

ok not the whole south is like this alot of us 'Southerners' don't act like this or treat others like this. only the back water idiots and they are everywhere. i went north and found more there then in my home town in SC. Also alot of the preachers i know and have met personally aren't like that disgrace of a seed where the best of him clearly ran down his mamma's a** crack. so plz stop with the whole southern bit. On the man he should be shot for such a statement. we all know where hes going after death and its not up.
