I know, Syd thought as she brought up her crossbow to shoot the other female again. But we don't, do we? Keep fighting. No complaints, this is an excellent way to train.

Rin grinned giddily as the arrow landed. But she was undeterred. She kept coming and just barely scratched Syd's shield with her efforts.

Syd's adrenaline was pumping, her heart was pounding, and she was certain that this was probably the BEST way to spend a day, EVER. And that she was going to be sore as hell tomorrow, she added dryly as she took another point blank shot at Rin.

Rin felt that one well past her fear shield.

With that the both of them seemed to glow a soft green as a good portion of her fear shield is restored to full.

Syd dropped onto her butt, leaning back against her hands and letting her laughter escape. "No way am I going to keep going today," she told Rin, grinning like an idiot. "That trick's way too awesome," she said, "and I'm not up for two massively long spars in one day. Not yet! Give me some practice and I'll be able to--"
And she fell onto her back, staring up at the foggy sky. "But that was fun," she said happily.

She grinned like a dopey idiot, "But I shall refrain~"
She desummoned Byr and approached the other woman, "Need a hand up?"

"Maybe in a few minutes," Syd said, bringing her arms up to rest her head on her hands. "I've sparred with a few people, but none of them are as fun as you are," she told her. "And sometimes its frustrating--" She fell silent, thinking about Aliester. "Do you think... some people really aren't meant to be in this job?" she asked abruptly.

Rin blinked in surprise before deciding to plop down and sit beside her, "I don't know... they chose it... again and again and they passed the tests."
She looked over at the strange woman she'd only just met really, "Far be it for me to decide whether or not anyone else deserves to be here."
