The question made him frown, but it faded as he realized that she was being more open then she normally was. Not to mention the question itself was a pretty common one when you thought about things.
"Well...depends. Like age and position for one. Going to bone someone just to try and get a leg up... or someone illegal.." He shrugged. 17 was legal is some states. "If someone is taken or not.... It's not an easy answer since.. so many factors. Personally? I'd say it's not wrong to feel, it's only wrong if you act in a manner that is wrong. Like forcing yourself on someone or taking advantage of them. If it's all muddled and it becomes too much to hold in... Let the person know? It's better to be shot down and know rather than never ask and be left wondering."

Ami's eyes went wide as Marcus started essentially naming ***** and murderers. "No! No god no Marcus. Oh my god no." If she was pink before, she was a ripe red cherry now.
Marcus' advice made the growing pit in her stomach about fifty times bigger. Actually tell him how she felt? If there was something more terrifying than that though, Ami didn't know of it. She wasn't good with communicating her feelings- ever. Especially not to- no. It would never work.
"He just. He has a girlfriend. I'd feel bad. I don't want to just ... What if he-." She buried her face in her knees. "I just dont know what to do."

HEY 17 WAS LEGAL IN SOME STATES. SHE IS LEGIT.
He laughed a bit, "It's okay Ami, I don't think you're the the type to go after those people. It's just worth mentioning." Because you just never knew who wanted to bone what.
Peeking out from the scarf, his smile didn't leave as he covered his eyes. "He's got a girl.... well... There isn't anything wrong in feeling attracted to him. If you want more, even if he didn't have a girl friend, you'd have to talk to him. Honestly, I would say... hang out with him. Even if you want more than friendship, if you really like him... he can determine his own fate. A bit a flirting wouldn't hurt either."

Now Ami just stared at Marcus with an unimpressed look. "Marcus. I don't ... I don't flirt. I just don't."
She sighed and looked back up at the ceiling, eyes staring off a bit. She was at least glad Marcus had said it wasn't wrong. Movies and books had always taught her that any form of liking a man with a woman ended badly. She couldn't help it though. He just ... made her smile, which was a big leap all things considered.
"What about the girl though? She's not going to just let me walk off with him I'm sure." Ami would admit that hurting Emmaline didn't phase her much. The girl was freakin' adorable and could easily find another boyfriend. The idea of separating the two felt terrible, but the idea of Emmaline's pain wasn't so bad. It was a complicated feeling.

A snort. She didn't flirt? Flirting wasn't... well it could be forced, but Marcus was one to bet she did it without knowing she did. "You could. But, that's not something I could help with. You've be better asking like.. Candace or one of the other girls." He waved his hand a bit.
"And Ami, straight up, I don't know how she'd react. If the guy goes with you and plays you both, then he's a d**k, he picks her, then that's that. Vice versa. Girls don't steal guys. Guys are just as much of that as the girls involved. I...s**t Ami the best thing I can say is go with your gut."
A smile. "'How I got Cass anyway."

Ami had reverted back to her book, bottling herself back up. This was too touchy feely. Too many feelings. It was too frustrating that Marcus couldn't just lay it all out for her. It was too frustrating that she had no idea how to interact with her own feelings.
Rubbing the bridge of her nose, she said, "I ... yeah. Guts. I guess that's all we have in the end. Somehow I think Jane Austen would be rolling in her grave at the moment."
She reached out and patted Marcus on the knee gently twice. It wasn't a very big gesture, but for Ami to reach out and touch someone was a bit of a big deal. "Ah. Thanks Marcus," she said, quietly standing up now. "I'm ... gonna head back to my bunk. Have a nice nap." She headed towards the door, and turned around right before leaving. "And don't worry. You're going to do great. Nothing'll go wrong."
Then Ami ollied out.
