Rin was charging in again when Syd took aim and hit just right. Stalling the hunters attack completely with a hiss, "Damn, your aim is ridiculous!"
She did grin though, "Byr knows how to heal, he's a pro~"

Rin was finally barely winged, allowing her to go in for a stronger attack. Lashing out with Byr's blade.
She still answered though, she wasn't going to be rude to her new acquaintance, "He was a jackalope, yours?"

She barely managed to look away this time, she would yell at him for it later, she thought as the bright light flashed through the sky.

Rin promptly cringed and looked away from the bright blinding light. Unable to determine which way to start swinging she wandered around dazedly.

She was blind, and it was showing by the way she was moving. Syd didn't bother to speak, now was the time to take advantage. So she shot. Unfortunately, she was getting a bit distracted at the same time.
You KNOW what you are, she accused Izy. So tell me!

Even blind Rin swung Byr around wildly and suddenly clanked against Syd's fear shield. A giddy little sound of success erupted. Syd must have been distracted...

She took the hit with gritted teeth, then leaped back, knowing she had made a serious mistake that could have gone much worse. Now wasn't the time to be arguing with Izy, Syd knew. Now was the time to stay out of range of that huge a** axe that Rin was wielding.
She could do that, she thought. And she could hit, too, she decided, bringing up her weapon again, and pulling the trigger.

Rin could see again and now she was charging full force at Syd in order to smack her hard with Byr, a hit that much to her surprise - landed.

Syd skidded back from the attack, bracing herself as Izy loved to say. That had been a hard hit, she thought. It seemed the other female took a bit of a warm up to get ready. Syd made note of it. And the fact that Rin had astonishingly good fortitude. She had no doubt that the other girl cold go all day long--she KNEW she had a second heal at her disposal. There was no way Syd could win in a long, drawn out battle.
Just one. Then we'll calling it quits, Syd told him, bringing up her crossbow and pulling the trigger.

Rin was less aware of the inner conversations Syd was having. On her end Byr was just humming delightedly. A merry little tune it seemed.
Rin made this her battle music. But it turned out more distracting than helpful as she missed entirely.

Rin was ready to charge in again when she realized Syd seemed done. Who won?
She looked around in bafflement, was this a trap? The woman's weapon was pointed away so.. she relaxed and lowered Byr before approaching with her hand offered.
"Indeed it was. Got my blood pumping like you wouldn't believe."

Who cared? Syd was grinning as she shook hands. "It was by far one of my most entertaining spars," she told Rin. "I think we should definitely do it more often!" She stretched, rubbing her neck and letting Izy switch back to his choker form. "Care to join me for lunch?" she asked. "I'm sure we can find something."

"Gladly." Rin cooed, she was starving too. Duels tended to do that for ones appetite.
"Perhaps we can duel again afterward if you're feeling up for more?" She too let Byr desummon with a pitiful whimper. He wasn't finished yet. Not that he had a choice as he returned to her pocket at the end of his silver chain.
She then proceeded to head back towards the main building.
