"As do I," he said quietly. A soft smile soon touched his lips as she commented on his expression. He remembered that day. Granted... the things those two did probably still wouldn't work to get him to smile today.
"That they did. Though, I don't think the arcade is quite the thing to get me to smile even now. I... still don't quite understand.. how that is.. 'fun'?" he said as the smile had vanished to take a little more of a befuddled expression.
"Humor also still eludes me."

"Fun is..." Mitsu started to explain until she realized it was about as easy to explain as love at times. Not everyone liked the same things. "Fun is what you find enjoyment in. The arcade just might not be your thing. I thought it was kinda fun because it was new and different but not everyone likes that and its okay. As far as humor goes umm..." She patted his chest lightly with one hand as if to console him. "We'll work on that. Like your swimming."

Shun just sort of blinked at Mitsu as she explained these things. Well, he did find enjoyment in various things. But he wasn't sure if he could define those things as 'fun'. Strangeness. As far as humor went, he raised an eyebrow, not sure what to make of that statement.
"And if I'm a lost cause on the matter?"
It was hard to say if he was talking about humor or swimming. Maybe both.

"That has yet to be determined but know I still love you." Was Mitsu talking about the swimming or humor? Probably both.
Smiling reassuringly she situated her arms back around his neck pulling him close for a short kiss. "You are very capable I have faith in you."
Thinking back Mitsu decided to ask. "What did you find funny that one day in that small tea house? Something happened and you kinda...chuckled."

Resting his head against hers for a moment, Shun soon looked confused as Mitsu said he... sort of chuckled? He had a fairly blank look right now.
"I... did?"
He did not recall doing anything like that anytime in the past.
"You.. sure that came from me?" he said while blinking.

Now Mitsu looked doubtful. Had she imagined the whole thing? No, she was certain she had heard the faint sound of a chuckle. It had startled her a little at the time.
"I'm pretty sure," Mitsu said lightly nuzzling up under his chin. Which might have been a mistake, her hair was sticking to everything. She was going to need a bath too. "I'm trying to remember it was after you had given me the pendant that belonged to your mother." At that thought her finger came down to lightly run across the item in question. "We had just gotten the one pastry and I decided I wanted it for myself and then you....made an amused sound of sorts. Kinda like a chuckle but not quite." She was grasping at straws really but it was all she had at the moment.

"Careful Mitsu. Your hair is getting goo all over it," Shun warned, though he didn't mind her nuzzling into him. That was nice. But he wasn't sure if she wanted to end up as sticky as he was right now. As for the mysterious chuckly noise that was the topic, he thought back to that time that she explained.
"I do recall finding something about that amusing..." he said while thinking on it.
He still didn't really remember doing anything like a laugh though.

"I'm pretty sure I already need a bath, its okay," she reassured.
Mitsu wished she could remember the event with more detail. If only she had given it more thought at the time or even asked him in that moment what had amused him. It was too late now she supposed, he couldn't quite recall. Maybe it would forever remain a mystery. Sigh.
"I guess its not terribly important. It was just different but I liked hearing it. I like knowing you're happy." She explained. "Though its certainly easier to see now than before." Mitsu said with a hint of amusement, pulling back enough to look her reaper in the face again. He used to have one facial expression, stoic. Now, around her at least his expression was softer and he would smile from time to time. It still made her hopefully he would eventually learn to laugh.

Shun tilted his head at those words, slightly confused by them, blinking a bit as a result.
"I am happy though. I have you," he said quietly. Though, he was fairly aware that he wasn't very good at the whole emoting business in most cases. Annoyance and anger were usually easier to see coming from him rather than the more positive emotions. Generally speaking at least.
"Or do you think I'm feeling something else right now?"

"You're expressions are subtle still but I can tell," Mitsu assured. "I do like to see you smile though and I still look forward to hearing you laugh on your own one day. It's my one remaining wish since my big wish came true."

"Well, we shall have to see if I am capable of such a feat," Shun mused. He really had no idea if he could actually laugh. Before, he knew he was capable of smiling; he just didn't really have much of a reason to do so. Laughter was a whole other issue with him. That.. kind of required him to have a sense of humor, which might not quite exist with him.
Or perhaps it did.
It was hard to tell at times.

It never failed to amuse her how Shun treated the notion of laughing like a 'feat' when it really wasn't. Well, to him it probably seemed so but it really wasn't something so complicated. "I guess we will. I hope my wish doesn't go unfulfilled. We just need to find out what amuses you." That would probably take some thought but Mitsu wasn't unwilling to try.
"And we'll be working on swimming soon since its getting warmer so be ready," Mitsu informed before she leaned up to place a soft kiss on Shun's lips before pulling away.
"Well, I showed you what I wanted to show you, ready to head back to the room to get cleaned up?"

"Ah yes... swimming.." Shun murmured, not sounding completely enthusiastic about that. That was something that eluded him as well, almost strangely enough. One would think that as athletic as he was, he'd be capable of swimming.
Nope.
"I am. And I'm sure you'd like to get cleaned up now that I've rubbed off some slime onto you," he replied while looking her over with a raised brow. Her hair seemed to have a slight green tinge to it now, which wasn't quite her color at all.
"Though.. thank you for showing me this. It was.. nice to think back."

"Hehe, yeah I'm a tad sticky," Mitsu admitted looking at herself.
She smiled again when Shun said it was nice to look back. It was interesting to see how they had changed in a year. "I wonder how we will change for the year to come."

"There's only one way for us to find out," he whispered before giving her a soft kiss. It was hard to say how they will grow in the coming year, and if it'd be for better or worse. But Shun wasn't really one to fret about the future usually. He'd tackle things as they come.
"Come on, let's head back. Maybe have some tea to 'toast' ourselves for another year with one another."
